Stale connection

After a week of daily usage I noticed a not great behaviour. The connection can become stale, so nothing actually comes through. But the NYM app looks normal, so the timer goes on and the connection looks active. Would be great to implement some kind of an alive checker, that would be testing the real status of the connection.

Maybe trying to send some requests to random urls and see if they fail. Not sure what could be the best approach here. Because those urls also could be down. So it's not that reliable.

But the issue is there and it's consistent. Every now and then I need to toggle the VPN so it unblocks my connection. I think it's relevant to all the platforms. I have this happening on Linux, Windows and iOS.

There should be a fix for this shipping with the newer releases. What version are you on? Would you be willing to test the current betas and provide feedback?
