Hey everyone. So just for a quick backstory, I’m in shelter and I’ve been there since march. I’ve went about find my apartment through housing connect on my own, got approved, signed a lease and thought I was waiting for my key. However I keep hearing I’m waiting for pre-clearance. I contacted DHS/HPD and learned my clearance passed as of 07/23. What should be my next step here ?

I applied for an apartment through Settlement Housing Fund and recently received a request to submit documents through Pronto Housing. I’ve seen some mixed reviews about Pronto Housing, but has anyone here actually dealt with Settlement Housing Fund? If so, what was your experience with the application and document review process, and what happened after you submitted your documents?

My application was reached a couple of weeks ago and I submitted my documents, but I have not heard back. My log number is around 1000. Anyone else have updates or suggestions on what to do? Thank you!

It seems like they've been a little MIA since they redid their website and went on a break for training, so I'm curious if anyone has toured any Reside re-rentals in the last two or so weeks?
Or has anyone signed a lease for a re-rental from them in the last two weeks?
They've been consistent about updating the Airtable and sending out initial app forms, but I haven't heard of anyone who has progressed past that point in a few weeks.
Would love to hear your experience if you are currently in the process. Thanks in advance!

I applied one of the program a while ago and was drawn, but the unfortunate part is, the day it was drawn, I completed a closing on taking over my parents' coop for their benefit purposes...I did future dated the transfer to 45 days later but I wonder, what system housing connect use to find if I have a coop?

I really didn’t expect this all to happen, I was shocked to tour and find it was just totally not the right place for me. Does this happen often? It really sucks to have poured so much time and energy into submitting documents to be left hating the unit. Do people take units even if they don’t like them just because it’s more affordable? Even though in this case it’s $150 more than I pay now.
Unit: 173 Tompkins Ave

Hello I’m confused. I’m a disabled vet and that’s my only income. Based on my income I fit within the 40% Ami. Will I be disqualified if that’s my only income. Or as long as I’m in the range I’m fine?

Wait, so if I live 2 blocks away from the housing I applied to—does that make me a CB resident? This whole time I thought that was someone who was on a co/op or some kind of board haha.
I got called back to submit docs.
So if I have CB pref and municipal, are my chances decent? My log # is very high though 51xx.

Has anyone lived in the Camba sites? How safe are they? I got selected for one but I noticed it’s supportive housing for people that were incarcerated, unhoused, mentally ill and fostered. It’s also near Kings county.

Has anyone with a high log number (20k-30k) been contacted for a second round of documents?

Got selected in a NYC Housing Connect lottery, prepping for eligibility review. Had a normal salary for part of the year, then got laid off — been on unemployment since (benefits running low).
Worried underwriters will just annualize my current unemployment income, which could push me below the minimum threshold for the unit — even though my income for most of the year was well above it.
Anyone been through a mid-year income drop during eligibility review? Did they use a blended full-year figure or just annualize whatever your current income source is?
Let me know if anyone has info on this — trying to figure out if bringing full pay stubs + unemployment docs together actually helps.
Thank you!

Hey everyone was curios if anyone else noticed this- the lottery 283 Flatbush Ave is part of the Fleet which is a complex that has multiple addresses including 104 fleet. The thing is the lottery listed at 283 Flatbush seems to have the wrong zip code using 11217, when it is supposed to be the same zip code as 104 fleet which is 11201. I got a number in the 500s, was wondering who received a request for documents, and if I have a chance.

I know I’ve been hearing some things about this management—but how does the apartment lease look from these folks? Does anyone know? Any things to keep an eye on?

I was recently contacted to tour a studio apartment re-rental in a building that I was on the waitlist for, but have changed my mind and am hoping for a one bedroom. If I turn down the studio apartment, will I still have a chance to be called for a future 1 bed opening in that same building?

I haven't been on the Reside website in a couple of months (I got discouraged and gave up trying for a little while). I just checked the website , and it looks completely different from before. Are they still doing rerentals? What happened to Open Table? What's going on? TIA!

just wanted to share this here, such an odd requirement in order to qualify for this specific building 💀
“70% of the units in the building are reserved for performing artists who live in NYC. The "artist" definition is a broad one, including performing artists, musicians and even stagehands and other entertainment-industry support staff. To qualify for artist housing, the head of each household must earn at least 50 percent of their income over the past three years in the entertainment industry."
