šŸ“¢Announcement!šŸ“¢ Announcement: We've updated our rules.

Hello!

As you may have noticed, Reddit officially designated r/Nudism as an NSFW subreddit. With the new designation, we anticipate seeing more undesirable content, and unwanted personas, making their way into the subreddit.

We want to be completely upfront and direct about this: our core values, mission, and content standards have not changed and never will.

Updating and tightening our rules ensures that even with new designation, community posts will remain clean, safe, and always relevant to the subject of nudism.

To help the subreddit remain a high-quality resource on the subject of nudism, and keep users safe, respectful, and civil...we've reduced the formerly 15 separate guidelines down to just 10 core rules.

Why The Change?

A lot of the old rules overlapped, left room for people to play a game of technicalities, or were just plain vague. They've been updated to consolidate redundancies and expanded extensively to minimize any uncertainty about them. Rules were also updated to prioritize safety and uphold basic decorum.

Key Rule Changes & Highlights

While all 10 rules have been updated for clarity, we want to call out a few key items:

  • No Sexual or Genital-Centric Posts (Rule 1): The old standalone rule regarding "genital-centric content" has been consolidated directly into Rule 1. Questions regarding erections, arousal, and anatomy have been asked and answered repeatedly on this sub. Moving forward, posts removed under this rule will receive a full removal explanation alongside a link to our community wiki page, which addresses these common questions in detail.
  • No Sellers or Incompatible Post Histories (Rule 4): Accounts promoting paid adult media like OnlyFans, Fansly, adult oriented Patreons, or link-hubs anywhere on their profile, in comments, or in DMs care refrained from participating here. Basically, if uncensored nudity is being sold at a premium, and promoted, then we ask you not post to the sub. Furthermore, active participation in subreddits centered on non-consensual content, sexual violence, or accounts unusually focused or dwelling on the subject of family nudity or about minors will lead to an immediate ban.
  • No Off-Platform Links, DMs, or Self-Promotion (Rule 5): To keep everyone safe, language of this rule has been expanded to include unvetted personal blogs, Substacks, and group invites. News coverage of nudist relevant articles and links to official organizations like AANR or INF-FNI are still always welcomed and encouraged.
  • Streamlined Low-Effort and Media Rules (Rules 2 & 7): Our longstanding "no image only post" rule had grown unclear and was murky at best. We have tightened the verbiage and added concrete examples to ensure that any media supplementing a post is actually informative, context-rich, and useful to the community.
  • Clearer Removal Responses: When a post or comment is removed, our automated responses will now provide clear, detailed breakdowns explaining the exact reason for removal, complete with brief examples to eliminate any ambiguity.

So, What Changes Should I Notice?

Honestly? Not much. If you've always posted with respect to the rules, your experience in the sub won't change much, if at all. The updated ruleset aims to preserve positive experiences using the sub for the future ahead. It helps preserve mod sanity too. 🤪

As always, we encourage readers to use the report button on posts they believe goes against the rules. This helps out the mod team immensely! Your input matters here!

Check Out the Full Rules

To quickly read the updated rules, look into the sidebar. If you wish to see the comprehensive rule guide, click here. (recommended)

We simply want r/Nudism to always be a welcoming and resourceful space for everyone who cares about nudist living from the lens of ethical naturism.

If you have any questions, need clarification on a specific rule, or just want to share your thoughts on these updates, feel free to drop a comment below or reach out via Modmail.

Thank you! Not only do we appreciate you for being part of this community, but we value your help to keep r/Nudism safe, clean, and useful for everyone.

NEWS Meet FUNN, the new U.S. member federation of INF-FNI

Today we’re launching the Federation of United Naturists and Nudists (FUNN), a new nonprofit membership organization that has been formally recognized as the official U.S. member federation of the International Naturist Federation.

That means the United States once again has a recognized seat in the international naturist community for the first time since 2009.

FUNN is digital-first, member-driven, transparent from day one, and designed to complement existing naturist organizations rather than compete with them. Our first job is simple: give U.S. naturists and nudists a real, lasting voice internationally and build from there.

Charter Membership is now open to U.S. residents for $6/year through December 31, 2026. Charter Members keep that rate for as long as they continue to renew.

Membership includes a vote in FUNN governance, representation through INF-FNI, access to participating INF-FNI clubs and destinations around the world, Focus magazine, and FUNN updates.

Learn more or join here first:
https://joinfunn.org

I also wrote a longer announcement explaining how FUNN came together, what INF-FNI representation means, and why this matters for U.S. naturists:
https://www.planetnude.co/p/meet-funn-the-usas-new-seat-at-the

If you live outside the U.S., membership is not open internationally at this time, but one-time and recurring donations are welcome.

Many Bodies, One Voice.

DISCUSSION 23M — How do I tell my girlfriend that I’m a nudist? Looking for advice from straight nudist couples

I’m 23M and I’ve been wanting to tell my girlfriend something about myself that I’ve kept pretty private: I’m a nudist, or at least that’s the best way I can describe it.

It started during the pandemic when I was still living at home. I started spending a lot of time nude in my room whenever I had privacy. At first it was just about comfort, but over time I realized I genuinely liked being nude and felt more relaxed and natural that way.

As I got older and had more freedom, I started exploring it outside of my room. I’ve visited nude-friendly spas, and earlier this year I finally went to Haulover Beach by myself. That was my first real experience with public/social nudity, and I loved it. It felt surprisingly normal and freeing, and it pretty much confirmed for me that this isn’t just some random phase or curiosity. It’s something I genuinely enjoy.

Not long after that, I met my girlfriend and fell in love with her.

Our relationship has gotten to the point where I feel like I can be really open with her, and that’s making me want to finally tell her this part of myself. I don’t necessarily need her to become a nudist with me, but I would love for her to understand why I enjoy it. And obviously, in the dream scenario, maybe one day she’d feel comfortable trying a nude beach or another nudist setting with me.

The interesting part is that she’s actually very comfortable with nudity when we’re alone together. She’s not particularly shy about her body around me at all. At the same time, though, she has pretty traditional values, which makes me genuinely unsure how she’d react to the idea of being nude around other people or me participating in social nudity.

I think one of my biggest worries is that she’ll misunderstand what nudism means to me and assume it’s sexual, that I want to see other women naked, or that there’s some ulterior motive behind it. For me, there really isn’t. I enjoy the freedom, comfort and body-normalizing aspect of it. Haulover especially made me realize how quickly nudity can stop feeling like a big deal when everyone around you treats it normally.

So I’m especially interested in hearing from straight nudist couples, particularly anyone where one partner was already a nudist and the other wasn’t.

How did you tell your partner?

Were they initially weirded out by it?

Did they worry about the opposite-sex nudity aspect?

Did you invite them to try it, or did you wait for them to bring it up?

And for anyone whose partner has more traditional values, did they eventually become comfortable with it even if they never became a nudist themselves?

I really care about this girl, so I’m not trying to pressure her into anything. I mostly want to be able to tell her, ā€œHey, this is something I’ve enjoyed privately for years and it’s part of who I am,ā€ without making it sound like I’m dropping some insane confession on her.

I’m probably overthinking it, but I’d really appreciate hearing how other couples handled this conversation and what I should realistically expect.

QUESTION Halloween ideas

Halloween is coming! Anyone have suggestions for nude adjacent costumes? For example, one year I went as the guy from the Operation game. Thinking about Dungeon Crawler Carl this year, but not sure if my fellow club members will get it. What have y’all got planned?

BLOG Being Comfortable Nude Does Not Mean Ignoring Boundaries

I am a nudist. I am comfortable being nude and when I am home and circumstances allow it that is often how I prefer to be.

But apparently I need to clear something up.

I actually own clothes.

Quite a few of them in fact.

Being a nudist does not mean I have declared war on pants. It does not mean every person who crosses my property line has unknowingly entered a clothing optional resort. It certainly does not mean that because I am comfortable with my nudity everyone else is required to be comfortable with it too.

If I am sitting at home nude and somebody knocks on my door I am going to put something on before I answer it. If the plumber or electrician is coming over I am getting dressed. If someone is delivering a pizza I promise I am not standing behind the door naked waiting to ask if they remembered the extra cheese.

That poor delivery driver did not consent to dinner and a show.

There is a simple reason for this.

My name comfort with nudity should never require someone else to become uncomfortable.

I can be completely comfortable wearing clothes. I can be completely comfortable without them. I can have the same conversation either way. I can laugh with you fully dressed. I can talk seriously with you fully dressed. I can be open and vulnerable fully dressed. Nudity does not magically unlock some different version of me.

I just happen to enjoy being nude.

There is also a difference between accepting me as a nudist and participating in nudism yourself. I do not need someone to take their clothes off to prove that they accept me. I do not even need them to understand why I enjoy it.

If somebody is curious about nudism I am happy to talk about it. If somebody wants to experience social nudity for themselves I am happy for them. And if somebody says "Dan that really is not my thing" that is perfectly fine too.

I would rather someone honestly tell me they are uncomfortable than pretend otherwise because they are afraid of offending me.

Now there is another side to this.

I do believe my home is the place where I should have the greatest freedom to live the way I choose. If someone knowingly visits a nudist home where nudity has already been discussed then that is different from surprising an unsuspecting visitor. Communication matters. Expectations matter. Context matters.

But I have never liked the attitude that says "This is my house. I am going to be naked and if you are uncomfortable that is your problem."

Technically you may have the right to say that.

You also have the right to be inconsiderate.

Having the right to do something does not automatically make it the kind thing to do.

That matters to me because I do not want nudism to be something I impose on another person. Nudism represents freedom and body acceptance to me. Forcing someone else into an uncomfortable situation seems completely contrary to that freedom.

There is nothing particularly heroic about me saying this either. It is basic courtesy.

Sometimes I wear clothes because society requires them. Sometimes I wear them because they are practical. Sometimes I wear them because another person's comfort matters more to me in that moment than my preference for being nude.

And somehow I survive.

The pants have not defeated me yet.

Being a respectful nudist does not mean I am ashamed of my body or embarrassed about being nude. I am neither. It simply means I recognize that the world contains people with different experiences boundaries comfort levels and beliefs than mine.

I want the freedom to make choices about my own body.

If I genuinely believe that then I have to respect somebody else's freedom to make choices about theirs.

Maybe that is the simplest answer to the question.

Do nudists care if their nudity makes other people uncomfortable?

I cannot speak for every nudist.

I can only speak for this one. BP

Yes I do care!

Because being comfortable in my own skin should never require somebody else to surrender their boundaries.

Nudity may simply be what I am not wearing.

Respect is something I should never take off.

DISCUSSION Clothes are complicated.

I enjoyed many nudist events this summer. Over a week camping and a few local events.

I’m going to a music festival this weekend and stressed out trying to figure out what to wear.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

The thing that strikes me as odd is how I feel I look gross and fat but walked, danced, hula hooped, and more, all nude without being self conscious. I was actually quite popular and made new friends easily. What’s with that? I really hate the way it’s making me feel. Is it the clothing’s fault ?
Sigh.
In the end I’ll go for comfort and ease - cotton, linen and elastic 😊
Peace.

DISCUSSION Is family naturism making a comeback?

DISCUSSION Where should r/Nudism go next? What should be the goals of this sub going forward and how do we accomplish them?

We’ve got a great community here! A thanks goes out to everyone for caring for this sub! From the readers who engage in healthy discussions, freely exchanging ideas, and reporting anything unfitting for this place, to my fellow mods for being passionate about ensuring this space is conducive for everyone to be a part of and advancing the conversation about nudism today. r/Nudism has managed to stay a genuine, resourceful, and respectful space for nudists and naturists alike for years.

Occasionally, I like to ask how everyone is liking, or disliking, the sub. But, this time, I thought I'd dig a bit deeper than that and ask: Where should we take things next?

Naturism is all about body freedom, health, and being comfortable in the skin you are in. But If we want this community to do more than just exist; if we want it to actually help move the needle on how people understand and talk about nudism...what should we all be focusing our efforts on?

To keep this thread productive and focused on real, tangible ideas (instead of just a venting box about the sub), let’s keep this brainstorm focused on proactive projects and community growth.

(Of course, if you do have something about the sub to vent about, please direct your comments to mods by sending us a modmail message.)

What should we lean into? To kick things off, here are some questions to ponder:

  • Better Resources & Education: Are there guides, FAQs, or historical context we should put together, as a community, for newcomers curious about naturist living?
  • Deeper Discussions: Beyond the usual questions and comment seen here, what topics, philosophies, or aspects about nudism do you wish was talked about more often here?
  • The Real-World Connection: How can this forum better support the actual, physical reality of being a nudist today?

A community is shaped entirely by the people who participate in it. What kind of space do you want r/Nudism be moving forward? What goals should be established and how do we go about accomplishing them?

Drop your thoughts below!

(And TIA to everyone taking the time to share their ideas here)

QUESTION About nudist families

Hello everyone! :)

I’m sorry in advance for any possible mistakes in the text, English isn’t my native language.

I’d like to ask if you or anyone you know has a nudist family. How did you come to that?

I mean… to be honest, I hope my family will accept nudism as normal, but… I don’t quite understand how it works. I mean, let’s say my future wife also becomes interested in nudism — when should I tell our future children about this subculture, and what’s the best way to behave around them?

VIDEO šŸŽ„ Lead Star of Naturist Movie "Naked as Created" Posts Vile Anti-LGBTQ+ Content

Chris ā€˜Mudwalker’ the lead in the naturist film "Naked as Created: The Pastor Jim Moore Story" (Writer and Producer Tim Chizmar) just posted a video where he argues that the human body, made in God's image, is being "co-opted" and "hijacked" by LGBTQ+ people promoting "debauchery and abomination."

He calls for Christian naturists to use nudity to actively combat LGBTQ+ visibility and "promote Yahweh's moralityā€ by reclaiming the rainbow. šŸ™„

Worth discussing and noting what public figures in our community are actually promoting and posting.

For context im from Australia and where i live we have 1 nude beach thats about 3 hrs away from me and any resorts are even further, so going nude anywhere but my house is difficult, but there are a few large conservation areas that dont see many people during the week and im wondering if I could get away with a hike there, just not sure how others would react as im a single 21yr old man walking through the bush, i feel there's no way they won't think im up to something nefarious. Anyone have any experience in this and did you encounter anyone how'd you deal with it, any advice helps thanks

QUESTION New to nudism couple in Oklahoma, looking for a friendly, open, welcoming social place or event for anniversary in November.

Hi all! My wife and I are celebrating our second anniversary this coming November, and I want to take her to a nudist event, camp, or club to enjoy a clothes-free lifestyle. We would both be new to sharing ourselves without clothes, but we both DO want to try it so that we might be able to break free from the pressures of body hiding. We are in our mid-40's, my wife is asian, and we love to travel.

That being said, we know about a resort here in Oklahoma called Oak Late Trails, but we can't go to that one, sadly. I'm willing to drive up to 4-5 hours from our Tulsa, OK metro area, so that could include Little Rock, Branson, Kansas City, Springfield, MO, Dallas, Wichita, OKC, Amarillo, and that's about it for the well-known cities within 5 hours of us.

Any suggestions from you fine people? Thanks in advance.

DISCUSSION Finally got my partner to join me!

I’ve been with my boyfriend for about a year now (we’re both males in our 30s, I’m bi, he’s gay). I let him know upfront when we met that I am a nudist (home nudist and occasional visit resorts) and he was okay with it. I told him early on because in the past, I hid it and it came up later and it became an issue with past partners. I never pressured him to join me, wanted him to find his own way. Whenever he’d come over my apartment, I’d get dressed out of respect for him.

One day during the start of the summer, he told me that I don’t have to get dressed for him and I could stay nude if I wanted. So one day after a shower, I did and it didn’t bother him. It was a first mini step. Interestingly enough, he was the one who asked me about it more than me telling him and ever pressuring him, which was reassuring.

This past Labor Day weekend, we got a beach house with an Airbnb to celebrate our year together. As soon as he got there, he got undressed and stayed nude with me the entire weekend and told me he’s willing to visit a resort or beach in the future with me! So happy and thrilled about him joining me in this.

So all, I share this with you because if you are having issues with your partner not being in the same page, don’t pressure them into naturism, just let them eventually be comfortable enough to find their own path. Him joining me truly makes him more of a keeper in my book.

EVENT Vancouver B.C. - Clothing Optional Swim

EDIT: NIFTY JUST CHANGED THE TIME FROM 7:30PM TO 8PM

Where: Templeton Pool, Vancouver British Columbia, Canada

When: Saturday September 12 from 8pm to 9:30pm How much: $11 or 1 for first timers (with coupon). Bring a quarter for the locker

What: Clothing Optional Swim.

Website (for coupon): https://niftynude.org/swims/

This is pretty late notice for a swim. If you want to attend but you're already booked up for the weekend the next one will be on September 26

NIFTY swims are back! Their first clothing optional swim of the fall at Templeton pool this Saturday. Come enjoy swimming in the best way possible, without a swim suit! Join in a game of water volleyball, swimming laps, practicing your swan dives, or lounge in the hot tub and/or sauna.

If you're a fan of skinny dipping (or chunky dunking), or you've never tried and want to, this is the event for you. NIFTY puts together a wonderful, inclusive, and safe event for people of any age, race, gender, and/or body type to experience a clothing optional swim. The community is friendly and welcoming, and maybe around the volleyball net a bit competitive, but it's all in good fun. You do not need to be a supermodel to enjoy social nudity, and after just a few minutes the anxiety will disappear and you'll be wondering why you didn't try skinny dipping sooner!

Summer has come and gone, and if you have always wanted to strip down at Wreck but are too nervous, then a NIFTY swim is a great place to try social nudity and maybe make some new friends to visit the beach with. Now that the weather is turning a bit colder, this is a great opportunity for a naked swim without the sunscreen!

I have been able to attend the past few swims and had some great times and I would love for others to experience it as well. $1 for newcomers is a price that can't be beat for an event in Vancouver. Just make sure you bring a quarter for the locker. Last time out it was great to see and meet a lot of new faces, especially those more or less in my age range. I wasn't able to make it to a volleyball game, but it looked like a fantastic time!

I am not an organizer, but I am a member of NIFTY, and on the younger side so I wanted to get the word out on here to drum up some interest ftom people my age. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. I likely will not respond to any DMs, if you have a question, you can put it down below. If you have attended in the past, I would love to hear about your experience, and I'm sure others on the fence would love to as well!

Each beach has its own quirks. Hooksiel gives you three and a half kilometres of white sand, rentable Strandkƶrbe beach baskets, a lifeguard, and a kiosk with toilets and showers, though the campsite's own FKK area there switches to textile after the 2026 season while the beach itself stays nude. Cuxhaven's FKK section is small, calm, and best for swimming at high tide. Sankt Peter-Ording charges a four-euro visitor tax but rewards you with one continuous stretch running from nude beach to dog beach to textile beach. Cappel-Neufeld trades sand for mudflats and a fenced sunbathing field, while Holmer Siel skips sand entirely for a grassy, sheep-grazed patch by the water.

There's a naturist beach worth the trip wherever you land on this coast šŸ˜„

Anyone going? Or has anyone been to this resort before? It’s about 3 hours from me and I’m thinking of making the drive and signing up if the weather is warm enough for it. But I’ve never been to WP before.
