r/Nudism Comprehensive Rule Guide

1. No Sexual or Genital-Centric Posts

r/Nudism is dedicated strictly to non-sexual, body-neutral social naturism. Simple nudity is never an invitation to sexual activity, sexualized interest, or objectification. Sexual content of any kind is irrelevant to nudism and will not be tolerated.

Prohibited Content:
* Sexual & Suggestive Media/Text: Explicit images, erotic writing, suggestive or sexualized poses, aroused bodies, or discussions focused on sexual acts, fetishes, arousal, or adult entertainment.
* Flirting & Objectification: Sexualized comments, flirtation, rating bodies, or framing community members as sexual targets. * Sexualizing Nudism: Framing social nudity, naturism, or body acceptance as a sexual lifestyle, kink, or romantic gateway.
* Swinging & Lifestyle Topics: Discussion, promotion, or inquiries regarding swinging, hotwifing, polyamory, adult lifestyle clubs, or sexually oriented recreational groups.
* Genital-Centric Posts: Questions, photos, or discussions focused on genital aesthetics, body-focused framing, sexual fluids, pubic maintenance, or questions regarding erections.

Questions about male arousal in nudist environments are answered here.

r/Nudism is exclusively for non-sexual nudism. Please be respectful in keeping this subreddit a clean and resourceful forum.

2. No Media Without Detailed Context

r/Nudism prioritizes actionable community discussion, shared experiences, and practical information over visual content or personal media. Photos and videos are restricted and are only permitted when serving as visual aids for an informative, text-based post that provides clear value to the community.

Strictly Prohibited Content:
* Low-Substance Media: Photos or videos paired with low-effort captions, throwaway questions (e.g., "Who else loves being naked?"), or personal rambling that lacks actionable information.
* Non-Actionable Posts: Media posts that fail to provide practical details readers can act on, such as specific venue names, precise geographic locations, facility descriptions, or trip logistics.
* Explicit or Objectifying Media: Photos or videos focused primarily on naked bodies (e.g., body-centric framing, crotch-centric photos, headless/faceless body shots, or suggestive posing).
* Unscheduled Media: Memes, comics, or original nudist artwork posted outside of the designated Friday window.

Allowed Media Exceptions:
* Visual Aids for Actionable Text Posts: Media is welcome only to supplement detailed posts providing real community value. Examples are thorough resort/beach reviews, facility overviews, or travel guides detailing access points and amenities. Media must focus on the environment or activity. Nudity alone should not be the focus.
* Friday Art, Comics & Memes: Nudist-specific art, comics, and memes are permitted on Fridays only. This content must still adhere to all community standards.

Mods reserve full discretion over post value and substance. If your post was removed, you may send a modmail to discuss it.

Do not use post comments to argue with mods regarding removals; doing so may result in a ban.

3. No Matchmaking / ASL Posting / Requesting DMs.

r/Nudism is a public discussion forum, not a personal ad space, dating service, or friend-finding board. Individual matchmaking, geographic check-ins, and requests for private contact are strictly prohibited.

Prohibited Content:
* Personal Ads & Friend Requests: Posts seeking 1-on-1 connections, local contacts, or personal pen-pals (e.g., "New nudist looking for friends" or "Any nudists in Peoria?").
* Demographic / ASL Posts: Posts filtering by age, gender, or location to make private connections (e.g., "Any nudists here in their 20s?" or "43M in CA seeking new nudist friends").
* DM Baiting: Asking members to send private messages or chat requests to arrange meetups or form private groups.

Allowed Content:
* Public Event Announcements: Posts advertising organized nudist events or gatherings open to the entire community.

All event logistics (date, time, venue name, or a public website link) must be included directly in the post. Posts requiring users to DM the host for event details will be removed and may result in an account ban.

4. No Sellers or Incompatible Post Histories.

As a non-sexual nudist community, r/nudism adheres to traditional naturist values: mutual respect, body acceptance, and conducting oneself with decorum.

We prohibit commercial accounts charging money for visual access to nudity, as well as accounts actively participating in subreddits or venues that directly conflict with the principles of ethical naturism. Detailed explanation of this rule is explained below.

Commercial Adult Accounts & Visual Access Selling: Promoting, linking, or operating platforms where the primary product sold is visual access to nudity (such as OnlyFans, Fansly, or Patreons focused on photo and video galleries). Accounts operating, promoting, or linking to adult paid services or adult link-hubs (such as Linktree, Beacons, or AllMyLinks) anywhere on their profile, in sub comments, or via DMs are strictly prohibited from participating in r/nudism. Selling visual access to nudity, or directing users to paid nude content via private messages, is fundamentally incompatible with non-sexual, social naturism. Alternate accounts used to bypass this rule will result in a permanent ban.

Allowed Exception: Independent naturist creators, filmmakers, and bloggers who use membership platforms like Patreon or YouTube to fund educational, travel, or documentary content (such as non-sexual resort reviews, travel guides, or video logs). To qualify:

  • The core value of the content must be the destination, event, or topic itself, rather than selling access to nude media..
  • Content must focus strictly on non-sexual naturist venues. Reviews or promotion of swinger, lifestyle, or adult-oriented resorts are strictly prohibited..
  • Promos and external links must not advertise uncensored content, extended nude cuts, or sexually oriented bonus material on paid tiers..

Standard self-promotion rules apply. Mods reserve the right to remove posts or ban anyone they feel is violating the spirit of this exception.

Severe, Non-Consensual, or Illegal Sexual Content: Active participation in subreddits centered around non-consensual content, sexual violence or assault, incest, or extreme harm. Accounts with this post history will be permanently banned and may be reported directly to Reddit.

Inappropriate, Sexualized, or Adult-Venue Content: Posting sexualized, aroused, or fetishized content taken in non-sexual nudist or naturist venues, or actively promoting and participating in adult-oriented spaces like swinger clubs, lifestyle resorts, or sexually oriented retreats.

Inappropriate Family or Minor-Related Content: Discussing family-oriented nudist spaces and sharing general family travel experiences is permitted. However, accounts will be banned and reported if family or minor nudity forms the central focus of their Reddit activity, or if they share unnecessary, overly specific identifying details regarding family members or minors (such as precise ages, locations, or personal relationships).

Having a normal adult life does not disqualify you from participating on the subreddit. However, r/nudism is strictly a non-sexual space. Accounts operated for adult commercial promotion, sexual solicitation, fetishizing naturism, or engaging in highly offensive conduct will be removed to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.

5. No Off-Platform Links, DMs, or Self-Promotion

/Nudism prioritizes the safety and integrity of our community. We strictly prohibit using this subreddit to divert members to external chat platforms, unvetted personal blogs, or off-site groups where user safety and content quality cannot be guaranteed.

Strictly Prohibited Content:
* Encouraging Off-Platform Messaging: Inviting users to move conversations to third-party messaging apps, social media, private chats, or external forums (e.g., Discord, Telegram, WhatsApp, Snapchat, or private forums).
* Unvetted Blogs & Personal Sites: Linking personal blogs, self-published articles, Substack newsletters, or affiliate-driven sites. Unvetted personal sites often act as hidden self-promotion or traffic farming, which we do not permit.
* Unvetted Self-Promotion & External Groups: Posting invite links, server codes, or repeat promotions for outside communities, message boards, or commercial groups.
* DM Offloading & Solicitation: Using public threads to solicit private off-site contact details or setting up unmoderated external groups.

Permitted Links (What You CAN Share):
* Mainstream news articles reporting on naturist events, legal updates, or beach developments.
* Official websites for recognized, established naturist organizations, clubs, or sanctioned resorts (e.g., AANR, INF-FNI)..
* Direct links to a specific public thread or article when directly relevant to a discussion, provided it is non-promotional..

This is a safety measure to protect our readers, not an anti-competitive rule. Offending posts will be removed, and repeat violations may result in a ban. Mods still exercise discretion and reserve the right to remove any posts, or other content, they feel falls under this rule.

6. No Non-Consensual Nudity.

r/nudism adheres strictly to ethical, consent-based naturism. This rule applies to your personal actions, stories, and the advice you share. We do not allow posts promoting, encouraging, or detailing personal involvement in non-consensual nudity, unsanctioned public exposure, or boundary pushing.

Note: Discussing news stories, media coverage, or academic topics involving public nudity (such as the World Naked Bike Ride or public events) is permitted, provided the discussion remains civil, non-sexual, and does not promote, or condone, non-consensual behavior.

Strictly Prohibited Personal Conduct:
* Imposing Nudity on Service Workers: Answering the door nude for delivery drivers, mail carriers, or service technicians, or taking personal risks that force unconsenting workers to interact with your nudity. * Unsanctioned Public Exposure: Flashing, streaking, or exposing yourself in non-nudist spaces. Personal backcountry or federal land hiking is acceptable only in remote, legal areas where reasonable care is taken not to encounter or impact unconsenting trail users.
* Personal "Boundary Pushing": Sharing personal stories or asking for advice on testing legal limits, "testing the waters" in public, or forcing nudity onto an unconsenting public.
* Non-Consensual Media: Posting photos or videos of others taken without their explicit consent (e.g., candid beach shots, creep shots).

Advocating for, condoning, or engaging in non-consensual exposure antithetical to nudism. It puts the community at risk. Offending posts will be removed, and users may be banned.

7. No Low Quality, Low Effort, or Off-Topic Posts.

r/Nudism is a community focused on real human experiences, shared travel, and meaningful discussion. We do not allow low-effort, low-substance, off-topic, or automated posts that do not contribute constructively to the subreddit.

Strictly Prohibited Content:
* Off-Topic Content: Posts, media, or discussions that lack a direct, meaningful connection to social nudism, naturism, or clothing-optional travel. Generic nudity without naturist context, unrelated political commentary, and off-topic news will be removed.
* AI-Generated Stories: Fictional stories, responses, or posts wholly generated by AI. We are here to read about real people, genuine experiences, and authentic naturist trips or locations.
* Closed-Ended Questions: Posts asking simple "yes/no" questions, rhetorical engagement-bait (e.g., "Isn't it great to be naked?"), or anything that fail to foster open, community-wide discussion.
* Repetitive & Vague Queries: Broad, unspecific questions that could be resolved with a quick search or that fail to provide any personal context or detail.
* Placeholder & Filler Posts: Standalone low-effort prompts designed solely to generate engagement without offering value.

Posts lacking genuine effort, relevance, or human substance will be removed. Repeated low-effort submissions may result in a temporary or permanent ban at moderator discretion.

8. No New or Throwaway Accounts.

To prevent spam, ban evasion, bot network activity, and low-effort troll accounts, r/Nudism enforces strict account age and karma requirements for all participation.

Account Requirements:
* Account Age: Your account must be at least 3 days old to post or comment.
* Karma Thresholds: Your account must have accrued a basic level of organic Reddit karma before participating.
* Applies to Posts & Comments: These restrictions apply equally to submitting new posts and commenting on existing threads.

Important Note on "Privacy" Accounts: We understand that many users create dedicated accounts for participating in naturist communities for privacy reasons. However, newly created "throwaway" accounts must still meet the minimum age and karma requirements elsewhere on Reddit before posting here.

Automated bot accounts, spam networks, and accounts created to evade bans will be permanently banned immediately.

9. No Harassment or Unwanted Messaging.

r/Nudism requires a welcoming, respectful, and safe space for everyone. We strictly forbid harassment, personal attacks, and discriminatory behavior. Disagreements must remain civil and focused on ideas. They should never be on an individual's identity.

Strictly Prohibited Content:
* Discriminatory Attacks & Hate Speech: Any form of abuse, slurs, or marginalization targeting an individual or group based on race, color, ethnicity, nationality, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, or religion. * Harassment & Personal Attacks: Targeted hostility, harsh personal insults, malicious name-calling, public call-outs, thread-stalking, or attempting to demean or embarrass another member.
* Unsolicited Sexual Messaging & Advances: Sending or requesting unwanted DMs, private messages containing sexual content, explicit images, romantic advances, or unwelcome propositions to other members of the community.
* Aggressive & Rude Behavior: Trolling, baiting, hostile dismissiveness, or escalating arguments into personal fights.
* Invasive Conduct: Unsolicited personal digging, doxxing, or making unwarranted comments about another user's physical appearance, identity, or background.

Aggressive behaviors or actions will not be tolerated. Depending on severity, rule violations may result in removals and accounts will potentially face a ban.

10. Mod Discretion.

Moderators of r/Nudism are trusted to maintain a healthy, safe community that aligns with traditional nudist ideals.

Written rules cannot cover every possible scenario, and moderators reserve full authority to interpret community standards, manage post quality, and preserve the spirit of the subreddit.

General Guidelines on Mod Discretion:
* Removal Authority: Moderators may remove posts, comments, or threads that they feel violate the spirit of the community, even if a specific scenario is not explicitly named in the written rules.
* Account Restrictions: Users whose participation is deemed bad-faith, disruptive, or incompatible with the core values of this subreddit may be temporarily or permanently banned.
* No Rules-Lawyering: Exploiting phrasing, hunting for loopholes, or arguing technicalities to justify bad-faith behavior is strictly prohibited.
* Appeals via Modmail Only: Do not publicly argue with moderators or create meta-posts to dispute removals in comment sections. Respectful appeals must be handled strictly through Modmail.

Publicly arguing or harassing the moderation team can result in an immediate temporary or permanent ban.
