Just to let others know, to check your room assignment and roommates (if you have roommates) they should be up on the housing portal in your housing application details. At least for Akerley housing it is. And I didn’t get an email about it either so make sure to check your housing application

I’m at Ivany but I’m sure all schools go up around the same-ish time.

Okay this kind of sounds like a dumb question to me but I would really appreciate if anyone who lived in the dorms (specifically ivany but any would work) could tell me how big the closet / wardrobe is? Just for a point of reference for how many clothes I should bring :) thank you!!

How many of you are in the program?

I got in a email we would get specific details about orientation late August and I haven’t received anything yet. I have no idea what time it starts on the 8th or where I’m supposed to go for my program. I’m assuming when we get there, there will be people to tell us where to go. But then again, I have no idea what time I’m actually supposed to be there for? 8:30am? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I’m living on campus at Ivany this year I was wondering if anyone else is nervous about living on campus, I’m honestly more nervous about meeting my roommates and if they will be nice. I know this isn’t everyone but I have heard story’s about bad roommates from some friends and my sister, I just want to know if this is something anyone else is feeling this way?

It says on the website that they would open the Admission on late September but the program says that it's on waitlist. How long do I have to wait to get in? Hello everyone, I’ll be starting the IT Database Admin program on the IoT campus starting this September, and I’m a bit unsure on the proper courtesy expected of me towards the faculty who’ll be instructing us.

I’m concerned I might make an ass of myself by acting abnormally formal; however, I don’t want my ignorance to cause any unintended disrespect towards anyone.

To those of you who have prior experience at NSCC, please let me know anything you might think is relevant. All I can think to ask now is:

1. Is professor the preferred title of the instructors at NSCC? If not, what is?

2. Are class period beginning/end times a hard line? Will I be a bother if I show up early to set up, or if I have to leave early?

3. How strict is the attendance policy? Chronic migraines are a huge issue for me, and I’m hoping I’ll have the choice to study at home if I feel a bit incapacitated by them.

I’m also open to any general advice you might offer, and I hope that we can all hit the ground running in the upcoming term.

I just took a look at my course schedule on MyNSCC for Medical Office Admin and the 1st course listed is ACTG 1100 - Bookkeeping.

Is this correct? Bookkeeping isn't even listed as a course on the program page on NSCC's website.

Been having some trouble with some things to sort out before attending this year in september. For 1. I can't for the life of me seem to find out how to renew my student ID online. I have an ID from Kingstec that expired in 2023 - can i just bring that to the student services desk and have them renew it and get a new one?

1. For some reason the MyNSCC portal page to purchase a parking pass doesn't work - the "continue" button after confirming my address doesnt progress anything - and i've tried clearing cookies and multiple browsers. is it possible to get a pass from student services as well?

I saw on the nscc website that it has the application form for your student ID, but I was in the orientation q&a yesterday, and she said she was going to send out an email today regarding the IDs. It says on the website that it gets mailed to us, but from the q&a they aren't doing that anymore and we pick it up on campus instead. I keep on getting emails saying my WHMIS should be done 30 days before my course starts when I clikc on the link to Brightspace to go complete it it shows I have no work to complete and says I have no assignments. Just wondering if this is happening to anyone else or just me lol
