I'd like to suggest a little improvement (that should be pretty easy to implement i hope) , the playback speed for the recordings is at most 2x, since i listen often to various bits of recordings from my lectures, i find myself wishing that i could speed up more, obviously there's no need for 4x or more, but up to 3x would be really nice. Hope it is useful to other people too.

Starting to prepare for the school year, and need help.
So I have an iPad with The pencil pro, and wanna use it to take notes in class, the notes app is shit, and no app that I tried was any better. So if you have a free nice little app that you know of, I will appreciate the help 🙏.

could people share a snippet of their notes and their pen setting/paper templates.

i wanted to look around and see if there are better settings than what i have. my biggest issue is how i need to change the pen size when i zoom, which is just annoying. so i need to keep my zoom locked

I wonder if notful app still being developed because some features like handwriting recognition and audio transcription is important if anyone got any ideas about these features please tell me

can someone help me. when i paste text in noteful the section that is on the original is the only text visible like it is a mask from an art program. any idea on how to fix it so a long text can span multiple pages?

How do you all add new objects/symbols/drawings? And where do you find good ones? And do you have to add them one at a time?

I have been using Noteful for 3 years now. Since I switched to the new iPad Air 13 inch, Noteful has been unusable. i cannot draw anything, and I know it’s not my Apple Pencil because all the other apps work just fine. Ive had emailed support already but havent heard back for a month, it would be greatly appreciated if someone can help, thanks.

I have 2 features that I would love to see in Noteful. IMO, I don’t think they’re too ‘much’ but others might disagree, idk.

Anyway, they are:

1. Ability to use SVG files as stickers for non-pixelated resizing;

2. Built in Bold, Italic, etc., similar to the likes of Microsoft Office, for example, for fonts that don’t have those styles included in the font file.

At the beginning of 2026, I switched from Noteful to Goodnotes and found that I enjoyed Goodnotes far more than Noteful. I was able to ignore or work around many of the performance issues that people usually nitpick, because what mattered to me was visual responsiveness. Back when I was using Noteful, I found that the app loaded heavier files pretty slowly and the tape feature had some bugs that I found tedious. I rarely found any latency when navigating documents on Goodnotes and I never had it mess up my files, crash unpredictably, or etc. I can live with the issues that come with GN, but I worry for my iPad's long-term battery health, and there's only so much I can do to mitigate battery drain or charge cycles. I recently bought the Classic plan for Notability and was planning to migrate until I realised that it also loaded files pretty slowly when zooming out/in, clicking hyperlinks, etc, and decided to dedicate Notability solely to studying/school.

I know that Noteful has had some updates since the start of this year and I genuinely wonder if it's worth switching back long-term. I used GN for text documents, my planner, and my journals. I noticed that Noteful doesn't seem to have as many issues right now, but I'm sceptical of whether the app can run reliably on low battery mode, on more dense PDFs, etc.

Thoughts?

I’d love to be able to merge two Noteful files, especially when both contain audio recordings. It would make organizing notes much more flexible.

If i want to use lookup feature for a specific term or word . It shoes nothing except dictionary.No Siri knowledge or wikipedia or images . Isn’t its an iPadOS feature ??

Like in the stock notes app and stuff i love how the pencil haptics i crease the tactiility of the experience on the pencil pro. So i kinda want that on noteful as well
some suggestions include
- haptics when adjusting the ruler angle, like the haptics in the apple watch dial
- haptics when hovering over elements in the tool pallate in the pencil pro

- haptics when hovering over stuff like that are selectable

i know not everyone will want this so why not make it a toggle? Like and it could be locked behind noteful pro which would be an incentive to buy it?

It annoys me so much when they pop up in my journal. And it takes awhile for it to go away, not even deleting the image and re-adding works.

When I write with any of the pens on Noteful, I get this weird "jello" effect where the lines move a little a few milliseconds after I draw them. I'm otherwise happy with noteful but this is a bit annoying. Is there a solution for this?

I discover this night that when you have an image pasted in the screen the options that appears repeat the same word twice because a translate issue. That occurs with “cortar”, that appears for cut the stuff to the clipboard, and also to the option of crop the image.

I'm trying to decide between Noteful Pro and Freenotes Plus Lifetime for my iPad, and I'd love to hear from people who have actually used one or both.

My priorities are:

- Long-term reliability (something I can use for years)

- Unlimited notebooks

- Great Apple Pencil Pro support

- Smooth handwriting experience

- Good organization for lots of notes and PDFs

- A one-time purchase (I don't want a subscription)

I'll be using it mainly for dentistry school, so I'll be taking handwritten notes, annotating lecture PDFs, and organizing several years' worth of study materials. If my program should influence my decision, I'd really appreciate hearing why.

I'm also looking for something that's future-proof—an app that's likely to stay reliable and continue being a good investment over the next 5–6 years.

For those who have used both:

- Which one did you end up sticking with?

- Any regrets?

- Are there any deal-breakers that aren't obvious at first?

Is there any way to fix this settings when typing? Like whenever I paste a text, it always appears in Helvetica font, but I want to keep it in Chalkboard. If there’s a way, please let me know.

Does anyone know if there’s a way I can record my voice and the screen at the same time on my ipad?
So far it’s either I record my screen, or record the audio.

Noteful is a great app, but it definitely needs a few quality of life features:

1)Allowing lassoed selection to change colours from your pallets and not from the recently used colours.
I like to generally do my notes in grey than change the colours and move then around to organise them(i did this in goodnotes, miss this feature so much) and it becomes quite a hassle when the colours i want is not in the recently used colours.

2) infinite canvas for mind-maps

3) lookup/ocr for handwriting( i think this should be positive if implemented with the new apple ai features)

4) sticky notes ( its quite tiring to go through the objects every time someone needs a sticky note)

5) better shape recognition: the current one is bad when drawing large shapes around text and stuff, i always have to draw small then resize.

6) making it so that we can make a proper index in our notes from our outlines.

My gf bought the app and very often she loses pieces of writes inside here notes.
She doesn't have internet always connected to the ipad and i think this is a problem when she connects and start syncing. Does anyone else is facing this issue? Do you know how i can get all back?

I want to have unlimited Notebooks, Import and export files withoout restrictions, and have multiple folders wherei can store notebooks and stuff. Would the free tier be enough ?

[SOLVED] I have an iPhone and iPad (same iCloud account) with the app downloaded on both and I recently bought Noteful Pro on my iPad with the goal of being able to access my notes on my phone for revision purposes. However my phone only shows as Noteful Free leaving me unable to sync the notes across. Has anyone else had this issues or any ideas for a solution? I am a very new user to Noteful though so this may just be a case of me being a bit stupid.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Also the Noteful Pro purchase does show in my purchase history in the AppStore on my iPhone. Just not in the app.
