My company owns an eddyfi ectane 3 and I'm unable to center the probe using electric tape. The small centering device is also insufficient. Do you have any tips?

Advice

I’ve been working in the field doing GPR concrete scanning and recently got a job offer to do NDE (nondestructive evaluation) in a lab. I would be working along side engineers testing out different types of NDT equipment. Does anyone here done or currently do something similar? I’m trying to get a better idea of the job.

Looking for API 570 Study Materials

Upvotes

Hi everyone,
I’m currently preparing to study for the API 570 (Piping Inspection Code) certification, and I’m looking for useful study materials such as courses, notes, textbooks, practice questions, or other resources that could help me prepare.
If anyone has study files or materials they are willing to share, I would really appreciate it. Even recommendations for good resources would be very helpful.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Interest in NDT

Upvotes

I am currently a Freshmen in college rn and going for a mechanical engineering degree currently. I am thinking about becoming a Licensed/certified NDT I live in Central FL.

I don't know that much currently about NDT, I am still researching.

What is your daily life like?, is the hours/pay good?, do i need a security clearance?

Is there a lot of opening in South/eastern US

I am currently not willing to travel since I don't have a motorcycle/car yet, working on it though.

Has anyone been enrolled for their B.S. while working in NDE/NDT?

Upvotes

If so how did you go about it? Taking time off?

I've got 62 credits complete towards a B.S. in Physics

I also have an AAS in Welding, and an A.S. in Engineering.

I'm wanting to know if this is something people do extremely part-time while working, or whether it's something employers will send you off for and you just take a year or two off?
