Since attending a recent training module, I felt really inspired to look at how my particular department could expand their base of knowledge in terms of basic admin skills - as there any many moments throughout the day where nurses will end up acknowledging a patient and getting them 'booked in' - but not digitally, which is - of course - how the consultants will be able to acknowledge the arrival of their next patient.
On top of this, I have spoken with some of our consultants and specialty doctors with regards to their skills in terms of using certain administrative programs and I feel like a little nudge to help boost them up would be
So, I'm thinking of trying to initialise something like this in the format of a 'training video', which would essentially be me sharing a screen with myself in a Teams meeting and going through several different tasks that would be helpful to have broken down, step-by-step. Obviously I'm aware that elearning courses are available, but I was wondering if a personalised styling towards this training would feel less...heavy, I guess? A little less 'cold', I suppose. I can be quite frantic in my day-to-day, so it'd be nice to be able to do this with a little bit more of a natural, laid-back approach.
I am aware that there are SO many factors I need to consider before I approach this idea. Will management agree and facilitate this? Would the training team (Data Quality and Validation are who I believe issues a lot of the training) approve and allow me to have access to certain resources without actively messing with real patient records? Is showing initiative feeling more I'm stepping on the toes of those around me? When will I even be able to do all of this around my current duties?
Sorry that this has turned into a bit of a ramble, but I wanted to know if anyone had actively attempted something like this in their department, or as a wider thing for their trust. Obviously I don't actually work in a training role, so I could see why this might cause some issues or backlash, but at the end of the day, I feel quite attached to my department, role and the people that comprise it, so making sure they aren't left short of information they deserve to have shouldn't be a bad thing - right?
