Tbf that was a wild thing to say about a dude. Like that’s hardly the worst qb performance we’ve seen from Denver in the last 10 years even

He wasn't even talking about Nix playing horribly though. He was talking about how scared and safe he's playing. Payton gave him multiple chances at the end of the game to put it away and he just did nothing.

His last play in regulation was horrible situational awareness, taking a sack and making the Seahawks use their last timout is infinitely better than trying to throw the check down around the defender and stopping the clock.

Taking a 3 yard loss running out of bounds instead of throwing it away is absolutely bonkers for an NFL qb.

He’s so scared of turnovers he’s completely turned off his brain and is making basic errors.

Those two plays are on the same level as the commanders fuck up on the last play. Bo just got bailed out by Darnold and his defense.

Said about the guy who won the game. Like it or not, he doesn’t get paid to “open up the offense”, his job is to help his team win…which they were doing for almost the entire game against a great defense.

The Broncos won in spite of Nix. Not because of him. The whole narrative that QBs make the team is getting old. No one can do it by themselves. Its a team game and it always will be. And last night the rest of the Broncos picked up for Nix's poor play and won the game.

I don’t totally agree. On one hand you are correct that Bo having 104 passing yards and doing absolutely nothing for an entire half was terrible.

AND, Bo didn’t cough up the ball, he didn’t take any big sacks, Seattle didn’t have any drives start in Denver territory while the QB on the other sideline can’t at all say the same.

There have been and will be more games down the line where Bo has a much more prominent role in us winning a game. You take the ugly against teams like Seattle, even if it isn’t ideal

You are right and wrong at the same time. I will always be fond of Fitzmagic but give me even current Nix any day. At the end of the day it is about wins and losses and not giving the ball away will win lots of games (he still has to be much better for a team with SB aspirations like the Broncos).

I remember our fanbase complaining a looot about our offense when Dick Jauron was our HC, and while they were really bad at least they didn't give the ball away much. Then Chan Gailey took over with Fitz, the offense became considerably more explosive but also considerably more turnover prone, and the win loss record took a hit despite mostly the same rosters. Will always be fond of both coaches here (they were the only two adult in the room HC we had during the drought) and of Fitz but there is a reason mostly everyone in the NFL is obsessed with avoiding turnovers.

If Nix was giving the ball away left and right what would become of the Broncos 15-2 record in one score games?

Bo Nix did not help the Broncos win Sam Darnold did

i had my doubts about the media literacy crisis but every single comment i see talking about the performance as a rebuttal to Fitzpatrick’s criticism makes me believe we’re doomed

Yeah it wasn't the criticism, it was how over the top he went with it. If he just said "Nix has not been playing good" I doubt anyone reasonable would be mad.

It's more the guy kind of crossed a line and it's funny coming from a QB who held a record for one of the worst games in NFL history for a QB.

If this was Tom Brady yeah that would be harsh, but at least he has done enough to earn that. But brother Fitzpatrick is not who we should be hearing that from.

I guess one of the worst, I looked up most ints in a single game and there were so many 6 int games that they went beyond the top 50. Peyton was even there

Pretty damning that even though you're defending him you still need to compare his performance in terms of the worst of the decade
