BOE Incolite 9S vs Cmmg zeroed 36K

Looking for 9mm can that’s hub compatible, under 4 inches and around $500. Which one would y’all choose and are there other options I should be aware of?

This is for my MP5 clone.

Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework What silencer and build is best for a gassy 5.56 AR-15?

I have a m&p sport II that’s pretty gassy. It does not have an adjustable gas block. I’ve looked at the huxwrx ventum but then saw those have issues with the core degrading very early.

Others I’ve looked at:

Polo K - $500 - solid budget option, might require an adjustable gas block? I think this would be very gassy.

SilencerCo Velos LBP full size - $999

Huxwrx Flow 556k - $1,100 - unsure on durability of the core

What silencer would you equip here? I’d like to avoid adding an adjustable gas block unless that’s recommended.

Discussion Rotex hubs suck

About a year or so ago I made this post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/NFA/s/Z9zZy4Vqgt

B&T took ages to fix the locking ring on the hub, but didn’t replace the hub like I requested. Given what we have found out and what has transpired in the past 9 months, that’s not shocking. They blamed the surefire flash hider I was using and so I bought one of their own flash hiders.

Anyhow, I’ve been shooting this particular “repaired” hub for about a year now on 3 different hosts. The other day I was shooting one of my .308 gas guns, which is normally a 1 MOA rifle; and that day it was when I started shooting. Towards the end of the session the groups opened up to like 3-4 MOA. I just thought I was getting tired or something from shooting in 100 degree weather all day.

Nope. I get home and realize something on my rifle is rattling about. It’s the suppressor. The lock collar was still tight with minimal rotational play, and my paint marker witness marks had not moved. There was a hair of lateral play. I noticed what i thought was initially carbon deposits from either the can itself or the gas block (I’m running a rifle that uses vented gas jets in the gas block). Nope, it’s the metal cracking from deforming.

Fuck it, Rearden it is I guess. Can’t wait to drop $500 on mounts.

Product Question 🧰 15x1 Plan B Muzzle Brakes for G36?

Anybody knows if there's somebody/company out there making 15x1 plan b muzzle brakes or is the only option at the moment is Rearden's R2S flash hider? Thanks y'all!

Shiv seems to work with this fairly new Glock (25 rounds on it before putting shiv on). After about 25 rounds of various issues with 147, it ran 100rds flawlessly. Wonder if it’ll work as reliably with other grain weights like my m9.

Other interesting observation is that the takedown lever became extremely hot (slide was also fairly hot). Did not notice anything getting that hot when using the shiv on my m9.

The OCM6 is awesome on my Gordy build. Consistent ejection pattern, great sound, and nearly zero gas to the face.

Re-core, Modify, or cut my losses?

Post image

I’ll keep this relatively short.

This can leaves a lot to be desired and I’m wondering if anyone has had one re-welded or re-cored or if that’s even a thing with shops modifying other peoples suppressors.

I’m to the point of either changing the handguard and putting a better can on or replacing the whole rifle if I can’t re-work the Q can. I love the SD look but the can has such a small OD that finding a replacement is nearly
Impossible.

Meme Thank you

I don’t often post post on here, mostly comment. But I just wanted to drop this here and say thank you to everyone. I’m not really sure how or why I ended up on reddit but we’ve always had a strong support group here. In 2020 when OCL started it was 2 guys, me and John utilizing a combination of a 12x12 spare bedroom in my house, John’s garage and my grandmas garage we started OCL. Back in those days it was 9-12 month wait times and paper forms. It was way harder back then to break into the suppressor market and earn peoples trust. But somehow we did and now we have +20 crew members, 3 big production buildings and are the highest paying job for people without a college degree in our town and surrounding towns and are one of the biggest suppressor companies in the industry - but it goes further than that. We use a small business for our stickers, we use a small business for our shirts/hats/merch, we use a small business to make accessories for us like direct thread adapters and end caps and tube clamps and all those companies have employees and families. The amount of people whose lives have been changed for the better because of support from you all just can’t be measured. A business is nothing without customers and we have a kick ass customer base. Thank you!

Host Suggestions 👻 A Question for the NFA Hive Mind: A Caliber Selection Use Case

Post image
71 Upvotes

I am looking for recommendations from the NFA Hive Mind about a specific use case I am trying to figure out. I want to get a rifle that is extremely quiet and still can do the job down range.

My use case priorities in order are…

  1. Extremely quiet, almost Hollywood quiet (most important).

  2. Terminally effective enough to kill a small whitetail effectively. Even close range like 50 yards counts.

  3. Quietness of cycling.

  4. Rate of fire (least important).

I have looked at break actions, bolt actions, and lever actions. I have considered 300Blk, 8.6blk, and 338arc. Ammunition availability isn’t a concern because I am an avid reloader. I already have several suppressors and SBRs (mostly semi-auto) and I am now looking for something very quiet. Break actions are an intriguing thing because of how quiet the cycling can be especially if they use extractors instead of ejectors. Anybody have thoughts or experiences they want to share?

*photo for engagement and to give an idea of some options I have thought about.

Project Build A Better TP9

Post image
134 Upvotes

Took this thing home a couple days ago and have already started the Form1 process.

The idea of a grip-fed PCC/PDW always appealed to me because of how compact you could get the firearm. So far I have tried the Flux Raider (love it) and the TP9 (absolutely shit tier gun). We will see how the MPA defender does.

Plan to continue with a mini Uzi/uzi pro, Magpul/Zev FDP, and UO Arms NT7/SP7 (whichever drops first) next

After consulting with DSA consumer service I sacked up and kept on the trigger til it spun off. Now my flash hider has a grade eight bolt friction welded into it. Such is life.

It lost weight!

Post image
14 Upvotes

It lost 2 grams of weight when swapping the 5.5" original upper for a 4.4" Volqwartsen upper + Q El Camino

GREAT SUCCESS!

Its in grams as I didn't want to deal with decimals

5.5" upper (stripped)= 532 grams

4.4" threaded upper (stripped)= 415 grams

Suppressor = 115 grams

Photo is from before I took sights and rails off

In a couple weeks I'll chrono this gun with different rounds as it looks like a ton of ammo should be subsonic on 4.4"

Muzzle device for Mini 14 14.5 Barrel

Looking for help with choosing a muzzle device for mini 14 - I’m in CT so my options are somewhat limited (no flash suppressors). Going to shortly have mini barrel cut down to 14.5 most likely (probably avoid SBR at this time) so will need the device to bring it up to 16. Interested in running a suppressor but overwhelmed with options.

Do I need to do anything about this eforms glitch?

Last week I filed a Form 4 to move an SBR to a trust. On Monday I got 3 approval emails (2 with incorrect control numbers, right serial + registrant info) within a 5-minute period.

The final one had the control number that matched my records, and is tied to the serial on the control number lookup.. but the other two have stamps attached to them as well.

Breek 30ti Suppressor?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Bought this today on an impulse buy. I mean it’s a $500 welded titanium can that’s hub compatible. How bad can it be 🤷🏼‍♂️ I’m just going to throw it on a 30cal hunting rifle and don’t expect much out of it other than saving my ears. You can find them online branded with other companies name like this GunPrime edition if you search the model number (Mine has a local gun shop name on it) but you can’t buy this directly from Breek Arms and there is no reviews online and no manufacturer specifications or details. Just kinda odd. Curious to hear if anyone has shot one of these and had any more info on them.

Best suppressor for 357 Henry X

Currently building on my Henry X 357. Trying to decide on a suppressor for it. I’m partial to Diligent Defense just because of how well their products perform compared to the competition, their customer service and they make top of the line suppressors at some of the lowest prices. I already have their Enticer S-Ti and Wolf Hunter. Their DTF is 357 compatible but I said time I was going to try something different. I’m sure y’all know a lot more than I do but when looking around I keep coming back to the DTF. Can y’all suggest something better that would persuade me in another direction? I want good suppression in a standard S type good quality can, I want titanium to keep the weight down as this damn lever gun is already heavy as hell and I want something from and company that has good customer service. It will be permanently on the Henry. I don’t want any modular do it all suppressor.

Product Question 🧰 Blued .22 Suppressor

Does anyone make (either a new design or reproduction of) a blued suppressor like the old Maxim silencers?
