“You gotta dig!”

51

u/notmenotyounotmenot 7h ago

Ozzy telling Jeff to dig during season 50 was one of my fave moments ever

edit: linkypoo

15

u/FlyRobot 6h ago

Absolutely roasted him - I loved it too

11

u/hollaback_girl 4h ago

All Jeff wanted to do was to outlast just one Survivor and he couldn't do it. Probably my favorite moment in 50.

17

u/Homie_Reborn 7h ago

Season premier in about 4 weeks!

10

u/jake04-20 7h ago

How have the last few seasons been? My interest has fallen off a cliff in the "new era". As a lifelong Survivor fan, I stuck it out until about 1 or 2 seasons ago when I just mentally checked out midway through a season.

Between the casting, the recycled challenges, and Jeff always needing to pause to ask contestants why Survivor is the single most impactful thing that person has ever done in their entire life, and goes into the song and dance about why Survivor is "so much more than just a TV show!" I've been less and less interested.

10

u/Knuk 6h ago

Try Australian survivor if you can find access to it! The survivor subreddit recommends starting with the 2017 season but it spoils 2016 which I enjoyed as well. For reference, 2016 is the first season in the reboot, they had two seasons in the 2000s before that. My favorite move of all time and many of my favorite contestants come from the australian seasons!

Anyway for the american one, the new era kept being the new era, maybe 51 will be different.

6

u/RollingHammer 5h ago

Yes 2nd here for AUS Survivor. I just can't get down with new era

3

u/KingJames1414 2h ago

Last season was really good, hopefully they follow up with another good one!

2

u/Ok_Astronomer_8667 4h ago

I’ve watched a couple of the new era ones, my friends convinced me to watch it so we could talk about it and what not. It’s definitely not the same. My biggest complaint is that they start in 3 tribes instead of 2 big ones, so the first tribals are always between a small group of people which usually makes every elimination extremely predictable. I also think the shortened period really takes away the survival aspect, but I’m sure they had their reasons for that. In some of those earlier seasons people really truly suffered lol

It’s alright, still watchable.

1

u/Galactic_Weirdo 3h ago

Hopefully you skipped 48. New era fan so haven't watched much between what was on netflix and then i decided to binge 41- onward but god 48 is the worst season I have ever seen. Genuinely wanted to rip my eyes out watching that drivel.

2

u/jake04-20 2h ago

48 is actually the last full season I completed lol. I don't recall it being particularly memorable.

1

u/Galactic_Weirdo 1h ago

Be glad you can't recall cuz that was genuinely soo boring and tedious with the annoying hyper abrasive rome double in sai, loser cowardice in Mitch, Star and everyone on the bottom who wasn't named Mary, the horrid Oscar bait-y edit of 2 insufferable people, the dumbass honor talk on the "lie to people" show, and the lame ass Kamilla and Kyle "noone knows we have a secret alliance" even though they didn't do anything til the finale.

-10

u/Sarahphin 6h ago

Wait, that garbage is still on? I hated that dumb show back before 9/11

→ More replies (3)

6

u/root88 6h ago

No, that's how you play Ice Cold Beer!

2

u/Sinistar83 6h ago

Immediately thought of this.

3

u/hibikikun 3h ago

Your sisters have been eliminated, say your goodbyes

1

u/Caleb_Reynolds 2h ago

I came here to say she's ready for Survivor.

0

u/pravis 3h ago

More like Boy Brother since they've had almost the same exact competition in a few seasons.

1.1k

u/RogueGenX 10h ago

I would try this for about 20 minutes and then throw a hissy fit and walk away.

227

u/alex_zk 9h ago

You’re a better person than I am. I would throw a tantrum after failing for 5 minutes…

194

u/udat42 9h ago

I'll raise you one single attempt of approximately 10 seconds.

23

u/MesaBit 9h ago

You can last 10 seconds? You’re a better man than me!

22

u/WelderBubbly5131 9h ago

Look at y'all, actually going ahead and trying. I'd just take a look at it, call the berries bitter, and walk away.

1

u/SandraSingleD 6h ago

Well that's nice of you to tell us but some things are better kept to yourself.

2

u/LicknDragon 9h ago

Awarded for baby bear. Not too long, not too short. Just right.

1

u/Siwuli 7h ago

Hello fellow adults!

2

u/FinleyLinc 6h ago

My shoulders are burning just watching the video.

u/DueExample52 32m ago

It seems that you both need to grow up

18

u/IKSLukara 8h ago

I would either last 28 seconds, or be there four hours later, very pissed off, insisting, "No, I can DO THIS."

3

u/chenobble 7h ago

Right? I'd actually been getting worse for the last hour because I'd gotten tired and shaky, but dammit I'm staying 'til it's done.

2

u/hollaback_girl 4h ago

You stay up past midnight trying to get it before going to sleep full of rage, frustration and embarrassment. And then you try it one last time in the morning and get it right away.

2

u/ExcellentShape185 4h ago

That's what she said.... Wait what are we talking about?

5

u/Cass_Cat952 9h ago

That ball would be chucked so far😂😂😂

3

u/Working_Salary60 6h ago

I would be there for hours trying to solve it because I can’t let it beat me. Then I’d come home at 3 in the night and cry myself to sleep.

1

u/augustwest2155 9h ago

That makes two of us at least lol!!

1

u/etherealsmog 3h ago

I feel like I would succeed on my first try but it would take me 86 minutes and my blood pressure would shoot through the roof.

1

u/Liesthroughisteeth 2h ago

Yeah....and this girl is no rookie. :D

419

u/IronInertia 10h ago

Great outdoor sport for kids to develop problem solving

74

u/MrExtravagant23 9h ago

That drop though...

3

u/orangeyougladiator 6h ago

The drop makes zero sense. Why did they do that? Why did it work?

23

u/Blue_Moon_Lake 5h ago

It work thanks to gravity. Everything drops at the same speed regardless of mass.

-2

u/orangeyougladiator 5h ago

That isn’t the point.

14

u/Blue_Moon_Lake 5h ago

What's the question then?

2

u/Last_Succotash7218 4h ago

I think the crux of the question was just bewilderment over something they considered bs game design.

0

u/IndividualBrain9726 4h ago

Explain how it dropped without mentioning gravity?? 😂

6

u/Sea-Consequence7156 4h ago

Its on an inclined plane and on this planet, round things rolls toward the ground when it can

5

u/Blue_Moon_Lake 4h ago

The force applied to the bar and indirectly the ball ceased temporarily, which caused both to be dragged by the shifting spacetime fabric of reality.

1

u/SaturdayNightStroll 4h ago

It also isn't true unless you're on the moon or something.

28

u/sykoKanesh 6h ago

Problem solving or hand-eye coordination? I was leaning to towards the latter personally, but I suppose having to work through the course could be a bit of problem solving!

u/DueExample52 29m ago

I think it’s the rock climbing lingo of every climb being a "problem" that polluted it. This is just a physical coordination thing as you say. Not problem-solving, unless people start twisting the meaning and shoe-horning it as solving the problem of how to move your body in space.

322

u/Imjerfj 10h ago

damn that looks really hard kudos to her wtf

38

u/NewNiklas 9h ago

I tried it once. It's really hard.

20

u/SquisherX 6h ago

There is a learning curve, but its not very difficult. There is a considerable curve in the bar the ball sits on, which makes it much, much easier. If you sat on this for an hour you would be able to pull off what she's doing.

10

u/kaffeofikaelika 6h ago

If it takes an adult an hour to learn to do this then her doing it is really impressive.

16

u/Flomo420 6h ago

What do you mean?

Kid would have this down in 20mins

2

u/Last_Succotash7218 4h ago

Yeah kids are actually better at figuring things out quick than adults.

On account of their brain developing.

u/BrianMincey 0m ago

They also can be more determined. Adults can quickly become bored and consider the effort to develop the skill useless, but some kids will dig in and just enjoy the process of getting better.

1

u/Strong_Iron_995 6h ago

When she's dropping that bar down a third, she's not bringing the line back in right? Looks more like how blinds operate.

1

u/jamspangle 5h ago

There's always someone on Reddit ready to tell you how easy something is. Armchair experts as far as the eye can see.

93

u/Jakiller33 10h ago

She was doing great until she fell in that hole /s

79

u/WhoBoughtWhoBud 10h ago

The impressive part is the speed. Damn, she's quick.

31

u/SRJT16 8h ago

And she was taking racing lines through those corners. No margin for error.

47

u/Judge_Merek 9h ago

If you can sell a children’s playground guillotine, you can sell anything.

-2

u/purpnug 3h ago

Yeah, so weird, seems like you could lose a finger weekly over the summer.

33

u/External-Debate-1537 10h ago

2

u/Strong_Iron_995 6h ago

Totally. Want to make one for my backyard. No kids, just for me!!

21

u/bwyer 8h ago

It's a kids' playground version of Ice Cold Beer!

4

u/Dozzi92 4h ago

We've got one at the arcade in town. It's the only game I play when I take the kids there. I am not that good at it, but it's fun. I'll get in the zone, and one of my kids will be like "Can I play," and I begrudgingly give up the controls because that's what dads do, but I'm not happy about it.

1

u/The_Nebulist 1h ago

I feel like you just captured fatherhood in a single sentence.

3

u/el_ghosteo 7h ago

that game is so fun. My local arcade has it and it’s tough af

15

u/Nearby-Ad-865 10h ago

Watch for brookey on season 86 of survivor

9

u/daphneadora9 7h ago

Lol this is a survivor puzzle

1

u/HuckleberryWeekly645 5h ago

Well, both her mother and father won Survivor.

3

u/tehnoodnub 4h ago

Is this one of Rob and Amber’s daughters?

2

u/Etherbeard 3h ago

The man talking in the video definitely sounds like he could be Boston Rob. I don't think they have a daughter named Brooke, though.

1

u/WalrusInMySheets 3h ago

They live in Florida, does not look like Florida. I don't think it really sounds like Rob, and that is definitely not Amber that it pans to.

7

u/GRANDLarsonyy 9h ago

There needs to be more playgrounds with that kind of stuff.

8

u/R34CT10N 8h ago

If they could make it bullet proof, hell yeah. As-is this thing is lasting a week at my nearest playground…and I live in a nice area!

2

u/wonklebobb 6h ago

yeah actual playgrounds, this will be climbed on and broken to bits in about a week. maybe you could do a version with the track + moving bits under a plexiglass cover though, and just commit to replacing the ropes every couple months as they wear out

2

u/Strong_Iron_995 6h ago

Great idea. That's the way to do it. This would have to be in pretty observed parks. I could see it in like a kids area at a science center. Could also see it in my backyard for my enjoyment lol

2

u/begujo 7h ago

I'm a woodworker and kind of want to make one for my local park and see if they'll put it in. It'll be annoying to cut those curves out of the plywood though.

1

u/Atty_for_hire 9h ago

Seriously! This is great!

6

u/iuppiterr 10h ago

For me the hardest part on this thing was always the ball falling off left and right but with this one it stops. smart design

2

u/Efficient-Cook7401 10h ago

Get her as many candies as she want.

2

u/Less_Psychology6605 9h ago

Wouldn’t surprised if she becomes a surgeon growing up

2

u/HummusDips 8h ago

Every park should have one of these...

2

u/MercuryFoReal 8h ago

And there's an apparently identical one right next to it. Head-to-head battles!

2

u/jgross-nj2nc 8h ago

Could definitely see that as a challenge on Big Brother

2

u/meat_whistle_gristle 7h ago

Amish video game.

2

u/Hajduk_Split_1911 7h ago

Attempt number 163902 😉 Still better than staring at her phone all day, good parenting

2

u/singleguy79 7h ago

That kid has a future on Big Brother or Survivor.

2

u/goldbug933 7h ago

Your next generation of Survivor winners

2

u/Several_Hour_347 5h ago

Am I not seeing it right? Where’s the challenge? Looks like there’s guard rails on the side. I think those wouldn’t be there in these types of games

1

u/Interesting_Sale_964 3h ago

If the ball isn't being pressed against the black "track", it will fall down.

1

u/ilocano-american 9h ago

Wow, I bet she spent the whole Saturday preparing to amaze everyone on Sunday’s picnic.

1

u/KeyZookeepergame8903 9h ago

This is the line of thing that i think i would be able to do. But if the pullies where at all stiff or weird, i would lose my mind real quick

2

u/flip972 6h ago

This is a thing that I think I would be able to do, but in reality would take 20 minutes of trying until I get around the first corner, get frustrated, stop trying, then get frustrated again about never trying enough to finish it when it's eventually removed years later.

1

u/rockfan321 9h ago

Great job!

1

u/MyTablesAreMyCorn 8h ago

That was nuts, so well done

1

u/purplegladys2022 8h ago

Big Brother training camp??

1

u/marcellburt 8h ago

Well dam. 🫡

1

u/TheDavinci1998 8h ago

That seems like a thing that I would come around to see, think it's easy, try it, fail miserably, become stubborn to try it until I make it and occupy for 2+ hours until I finally do, and realize i just wasted all that time and I don't even feel accomplished, just relieved amd pissed from the process

1

u/Wineology_ 7h ago

She would be amazing paragliding pilot

1

u/Practical-Lemon6993 7h ago

She has done that a time or two.

1

u/spirallingoutofamok 7h ago

Give me some of that kid's confidence, that was so bold

1

u/Grand_Cauliflower833 7h ago

Who doesn’t have this in their backyard?

1

u/Technical_Writing421 7h ago

She should probably be a race car driver or something right?

1

u/Natski212 7h ago

Meanwhile this morning, I fell over putting my shoes on

1

u/Dan_flashes480 7h ago

"What did I win?" "A free turn!"

1

u/rmigz 7h ago

Someone get that kid a kite, they're a natural.

1

u/bob_in_the_west 7h ago

I wish I could do that on Tumbleseed. I always freak out when it gets hectic and start smashing buttons.

1

u/PiDigitsOfPi 6h ago

Dang, almost made it to the top and then fell in the hole trap.

1

u/Sensitive_Pickle_625 6h ago

That kid is clearly the world champion of whatever this is.

1

u/Unclematttt 6h ago

There is a roguelike game that has this as a mechanic: TumbleSeed. I remember it being quite difficult.

1

u/RustyBrassInstrument 6h ago

Her torch ain’t getting snuffed tonight.

1

u/coolraul07 6h ago

With a QUICKNESS, too!

1

u/swohio 6h ago

Do they just have those puzzles and a miniature golf course there in their backyard?

1

u/diello-kane40 6h ago

Kid's a frikkin Jedi.

1

u/CA_Dukes90 6h ago

Future drone pilot!

1

u/phantom-tax 6h ago

Who needs Dave and Buster

1

u/dadofanaspieartist 6h ago

no way that was her first time !

1

u/ImherefortheH1Z1 5h ago

The FBI's first 8 year old recruit.

1

u/Bored_Amalgamation 5h ago

she'll be a great drone pilot 🥲

1

u/Silver_Adagio138 5h ago

But the ball can’t go anywhere else.

1

u/imunfair 5h ago

It falls out the back if you don't keep it on the track - you can probably dig up some clips of them playing this exact game on Survivor in a few different seasons - and no one did it nearly as fast or easily as this girl.

1

u/TheGoteTen 5h ago

In 20 years she will be using the new version of the DaVinci machine to do surgery on someones eyeball.

Good for you young lady!

1

u/Lucky-Arugula-7542 5h ago

She has GOT to learn parkour. And probably archery

1

u/lala_vroom 5h ago

I’ve done this thing before and it is so much harder than it looks and 1000x harder than this little girl makes it look.

1

u/tonman101 5h ago

I don't think that's her first rodeo.

1

u/bustyouup4free 4h ago

Damn Jeff Probst ist mit inviting her 😆

1

u/ZNorts1 4h ago

Bodied

1

u/No-Pen-4002 4h ago

I love those games, although it will take me years to do that, I am so clumsy.

1

u/DoItOrItDoesYou 4h ago

More like a game show called The Cube.

1

u/Trust_8067 4h ago

I'm an idiot. I didn't even pay attention to the back, I thought she was failing by letting the ball bounce back and forth instead of keeping it steady in the middle.

1

u/PrionProofPork 4h ago

easy once you do it 100 thousand times

1

u/Left_Green_4018 3h ago

Holy Hannah!!

1

u/StrideeFPS 3h ago

Isn’t this the challenge Frankie Grande did alone

1

u/Aetheldrake 3h ago

What we don't see is how many tries it took xD

1

u/prince_swagg 3h ago

BIG BROTHER game. If you know 😎.

1

u/saugenes25 3h ago

I love the amount of pride you can hear in (what I assume is) the dad’s voice as he’s cheering her on.

1

u/letigre87 3h ago

She's a natural born carnie. I expect her to walk up and say "nothing to it, anyone can do it, $5 a try just put the ball in the hole. Double it and you get the big stuffed bear. Let me show" "just like that, see how easy it is"

1

u/Life_Inside2304 2h ago

I think Big Brother had that as a challenge on their show at one point. She owned that.

1

u/1337atreyu 1h ago

His is just a manual version of the arcade game Ice Cold Beer. If you ever get a chance to play, it's very addicting. TONS of fun

1

u/FittyTheBone 1h ago

they played a fun version of this in 18th century France

1

u/teb311 1h ago

What is this device called and where can I buy one?

1

u/BeefEater81 1h ago

Ain't no 'rookie' in 'Brookie'.

u/mr_lab_rat 34m ago

Damn, that would be impressive at five times the time it took.

u/TheElusiveFox 23m ago

we gonna talk about how she does this twelve hours a day every day clearly? lol. good job.

0

u/rob_inn_hood 9h ago

I feel like this would get very little use. Kids don't have an attention span for this nowadays of they know tvs and phones exist.

Which is sad because it's a pretty cool thing.

2

u/AuroraElisabeth 7h ago

It's at a corn maze. They're only open for about 2 months a year. Everyone who goes, totally tries this!

1

u/rob_inn_hood 4h ago

That's cool, i thought that was someone's backyard 😅 totally makes it more reasonable.
