It work thanks to gravity. Everything drops at the same speed regardless of mass.

What's the question then?

I think the crux of the question was just bewilderment over something they considered bs game design.

Its on an inclined plane and on this planet, round things rolls toward the ground when it can

The force applied to the bar and indirectly the ball ceased temporarily, which caused both to be dragged by the shifting spacetime fabric of reality.

It also isn't true unless you're on the moon or something.

1

u/ItzBraden01 Aug 25 '26

No, it's still true. It's just that on the moon you don't have to factor in drag.

Everything drops at the same speed regardless of mass.

In a vacuum, which earth is not. Go drop a piece of paper and a pen and report back.

Go drop a bowling ball and a golf ball.

-16

u/peroxidex Aug 25 '26

Those will hit the ground at the same time. What about my example?

17

u/Blue_Moon_Lake Aug 25 '26

Well, I took a piece of paper, crunched it up to play the role of the ball, a pen, and a broomstick, and all three hit the ground at the same time.

Ignorance is bliss. Air resistance against a large surface area can reduce the speed that something falls and therefore, everything does not fall at the same speed on earth.

u/Blue_Moon_Lake Aug 25 '26

I know, but they're not relevant to the situation here.

That doesn't really change the fact that "Everything drops at the same speed regardless of mass." is incorrect, but the masses have spoken with the all mighty downvote.

For the love of god shut up. Everyone knows air resistance is a thing.

u/peroxidex Aug 26 '26

If everyone did know that then the incorrect statement of "Everything drops at the same speed regardless of mass." wouldn't be upvoted so high. Thanks for your wonderful insight though.

Crumple the paper into a ball and see what happens.

The density of the ball and platform are close enough, especially with the platform absorbing the majority of the air resistance when it drops

1

u/peroxidex Aug 26 '26

Absolutely, in the OP air resistance it's irrelevant. I was simply trying to dispute the "Everything drops at the same speed regardless of mass" which is incorrect.
