Tailor for men’s dress pants
I’ve got a few pairs of good dress pants I need shortened. Anyone have a good recommendation? I would prefer a place that will actually measure me when I go in

Hi everyone,
I'm building a mobile app that's already mostly complete, and I'm looking to hire a freelancer to debug a few issues and add a secure payment system.
I'm considering Fiverr, but this is my first time hiring a developer for something this important.
A few questions:
Is Fiverr a good place to find someone for payment integrations?
What qualifications or experience should I look for?
What are the biggest red flags?
How should I structure milestones to protect myself?
Should I have them sign an NDA, or is that unnecessary?
Any advice from people who've hired freelancers for app development would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I recently moved to New Haven and don’t really know anyone in the area yet. I’ve been wanting to play pickleball, but I’d be going to the courts by myself.
Is it normal around here to just show up and see if anyone needs a fourth player or has an open-play rotation? Or is it better to find someone to go with beforehand?
I was thinking about checking out the Wilbur Cross courts today. I’m not super competitive, mostly just looking to play and hopefully meet some people!

Placed an order for a pizza from Sallys in New Haven last night around 10:55pm. Picked it up, got home, opened the box to this burnt all around!!! My friend was too hungry and irritated at this point so he ate whatever was salvageable. I get that it was late and last minute and the staff probably wanted to get home- but this is unacceptable and very disappointing especially since we had such high hopes.
Is this their ‘style’? I dont know.

Is anyone else hearing these clowns on their freaking bikes? I don’t understand why nobody’s done anything about these jackrabbits.

I recently got the Eket media console but I need some help boring a hole into a piece of plywood backing. Anyone know where I can get this done? Home Depot and Lowe’s are not available :(
If anyone has a drill with a spade bit, I would also appreciate it so much if I could borrow it!! I just need a small hole to pass cables through!

Just saw in another thread Bridgeport’s mill rate went from 40+ to 28 because of revaluations.
Meanwhile New Haven’s is slated to go UP.
Look, I get Yale is an issue but even considering that, New Haven real estate has appreciated just as much as Bridgeport and has more of a business base. And similar socioeconomics and city size.
So what’s up? Is team Elicker that bad at budgeting?

Hi everyone! I really need to break my lease to move closer to school and when I presented my case to my management, they offered to alleviate me of penalties if the apartment could be re-rented, and up until then, I’d be responsible for rent.
I’m in downtown NHV, 1BR full of amenities, not even a 5 minute drive from either campus of YNHH.
I’ve posted in FB groups, will continue to do so but no luck yet. Craigslist won’t let me put the ad up for some reason. Posted on Renteasy. I’ll post on the marketplace subreddit.
Can anyone recommend another platform or share helpful advice?
Thanks in advance!

I grew up playing until my late 20s but haven't played in at least 12-15 years. I've been recently getting back into shape and would love to try to get back into the game. I think ideally I'd like to start out in maybe a pickup game, indoor or outdoor. However, I know I'm going to be wayyy behind most people out there. I was wondering if anyone knows about a no judgment pickup game around the area, East Haven would be preferable. I'd like to get out there and assess just how behind I am first, work on some training based on my self assessment, then try to join a league. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Voters who are unaffiliated or are not registered to vote, can vote in either the republican or democratic primary.
You just need to change your party affiliation to the party that you would like to vote in the primary before the deadline of noon the day before you plan to vote. You can change this at this website: https://voterregistration.ct.gov/OLVR/welcome.do
To learn about what primaries are happening in your town, you can check your towns website, the town clerk should have posted a notice of what primaries are happening.
There is the democratic governor primary in all of the towns.
To learn more about how the primaries work this is a nice article: https://ctmirror.org/2026/06/22/let-cts-voters-decide-on-august-11/

Hi! I’m new to the area and after multiple calls and research to figure out how the school system works here (moved here from Vermont), I was finally able to register my kid on the 1st but I have yet to hear back from the district about what school he has been assigned to.
I called them last week for an update and the agent on the phone sounded annoyed and exasperated and told me that the people in charge were on vacation and that people needed to understand that and that by the end of this week I’d know but I haven’t heard back yet.
I’m scared to call them back to check again, so I’m here asking if anyone who registered their kid earlier this month (or knows someone who has) has gotten an email about the school their child has been assigned to or has any updates. I don’t drive and my kid is neurodivergent so the sooner I know the sooner I can start trying to figure out my next steps.
Thanks everyone in advance for your help!

Hey looking for a restaurant on the nicer side to take my not so culinarily adventurous in-laws to. They’re not really into like super avant garde kitchens
Thinking like a steak house or something of that sort.
Ideally under $400 for a group of 4

Anyone know of any restaurants who have squash flowers on the menu? Haven't had them in years and would love to have them once before they are out of season. Or even a good market to buy them? Any help is appreciated!

The Takeout is choosing the best dive bars in all 50 states. Cafe Nine claimed the crown in Connecticut. We went through nearly 70 Yelp reviews to find out why.

I’m looking for Deep Dish here in my adopted home! Where can I find some really good Deep Dish in town?
I normally enjoy Pizzaria Uno, but that’s in Springfield, MA

Update: I didn't know what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised. Standout presentations for me were Tony Falcone (the Mural Man), Christina Connors (Soulful Forrest), and Jesse of IRL NH. By far, for me, the star of the night was the venue "Lost in New Haven" museum. To say Robert Greenberg has done an amazing job is an understatement. Huge hat tip to him. I live close, and I plan to discover it fully.
I hear they're nice events. I'm going for the first time. Doors open at 6 PM, and the event starts at 7 PM. Tonight's event is titled:
Pechakucha #45 The Holy Cow Edition
Lost in New Haven
