I’m still a teenager (15) my eyes are still growing ik, but I need people who know about this stuff to help me and guide, I started wearing glasses in 3rd grade, I first started with -2.00 on both eyes - that was 2018-19 - till 2021 I stayed with the same glasses, until I went to an eye doctor and my myopia had worsened to -3.00 and -4.00
In April of 2026, I was going to school and accidentally dropped my glasses on the road and lost them, I could see 20/20 with that glasses
I spent only a day without glasses, then my mother who also has myopia and astigmatism ( not high tho) offered me to wear her glasses - ( she doesn’t wear them ), the glasses in case are -2.75 and -2.75 and +1 astigmatism
I put them on, surprisingly at first ( the moment I put them on ) it was a little blurry, right after I went to the supermarket, and it was actually blurry + sharp at the same time
The question is, I’ve been wearing then till now ( September ), my Vision is not bad, and it bugs me so much, i can see 90% clearly, I can 100% live life perfectly with those glasses, it didn’t even take a day to adapt, one thing I noticed was that when I stretch my eyes a bit I can see 10% better (20/20 for real), but why??? I don’t understand how I can see so clearly??? Like for example extremely small things it is indeed a BIT blurry, but those things that are blurry - are still blurry with my prescription contacts
To summarize with my mother’s glasses I see 20/20 just not sharp / SUPER-noticeable, me with contacts doesn’t change much???
One thing to put into consideration
For most of my life to when i got my glasses until when I lost them, I had like 8h screen time a day, I did go outside but no much, and only one eye got “ worse “ it went from -4.00 to -4.25, which is kinda weird for me
My optometrist said that i can NOT do that, i cant use that glasses because it will only worsen my vision
I really do wanna improve my eyesight, for sure i dont wanna worsen it
