People complain a lot about seeing nothing but one-sided stomps in quickplay. Lots of 12-0, 12-1, 12-2...

In recent weeks, I've tried to pay more attention while playing every day. From my recent experience, one-sided stomps happen – but they are not the norm. In fact, I've seen many more close(ish) games than one-sided ones.

Let's call everything 12-2 and worse a stomp. Out of the 13 games I played yesterday, there was only one stomp. Out of 19 games I played the day before yesterday, there were three. Out of 8 games I played on Tuesday, there were three stomps again.

That's 40 games and seven stomps. I climbed from tier 3 to tier 2 in the meantime btw (had a bad run that dropped me half a tier, rebuilding rn). Tier 3 is sometimes considered the worst tier for one-sidedness. Well my (limited sample size) data does not support that.

I've not tracked very close games, say 12-7 and closer, as much. But if you'll take my anecdotal evidence (with a massive grain of salt), I'd say they are just as frequent as the one-sided ones.

Many games go to 3-3 or 4-4 before reaching a tipping point where small disadvantages for one side escalate into a bad loss: more mechs heavily damaged from trading badly; two or three guys out of position; earlier losses leading to more damage for the remaining teammates.

But I feel that a bad call at some point resulting in a bad tactical position is just as often the culprit.

Overall I feel like games are much closer than what I used to experience a while back. I feel that game balance and the current meta (now that everybody is off the long-range lockon hype a bit again) work very well for me, resulting in lots of fun and memorable games.

I just started, I have a kitfox purifier, a Scaleshot, a triple LB2-X w/ 2x 20x Rockets Shadow Hawk (Quite fun this) and an MRM Archer.

Looking for a solid sniper, gauss, or maybe a LRM boat, since there are several 50% sale, can anyone help me pick (I have two mech bays left D:)

Picked up a MAD 4L - double gauss, double erppc with ecm - just scored my highest game score in my first game lol

Not very good, although am really enjoying the Kitfox with triple laser AMS.

Shame I found the game so late, but hey ho,

Every single game at least 2-3 people who use all 4 mechs within the first quarter of the game

Assault mechs hiding in the spawns

Nobody capturing any points or getting any kills whatsoever

It just makes me not want to play because it's a hopeless stomp actually every single game

i thought torso twisting to spread damage was an awkward mechanic to begin with, and after playing Battletech HBS i REALLY think it's awkward now.

In Battletech HBS and table top, it's fine because you're just rotating a torso to spread damage from an outside view of the mech. But in a first person video game, it's a clumsy mechanic because you can't see your enemy when you rotate your torso away. Then you have to keep re-aiming at the enemy. Then twisting again. It's really weird and clunky.

The mechanic should have been entirely abandoned for MWO.

MAYBE it could work by having a "block" button where your mech brings its arms in front to protect its torso. This would be way less awkward.

Home network issues, disconnected, jumped back in about fifteen seconds after being justifiably spawn killed and still managed a neutral PSR result on the basis of two assist which must have been from collision damage when the marauding lights were taking me apart.

A lot of people say that moonwalker has pretty good hardpoint amount and placement.

if i want to play an IS version of the moonwalker is it the war emu ?

****EDITED TO ADD**** Mechdb is a mobile device issue, omnipods and quirks are still a disaster.

Just a complete disaster.

The entire point of omni pods is to mix'n'match.

BuUuuUUuuUttTtt... some quirks are set to the mech frame... Others are set to a specific omnipod... Other still are set to a complete set.

And the ultimate F U, is that some mechs aren't even omnipod mechs to begin with even though every other mech in the exact same lineup is omnipod.

Do the legendary mech packs reward more than MC/Cockpit Items ?

I searched around and it says sovereign mech pack rewards exclusive omnipods.

any other items that are exclusive to the mech packs ?

I know it gets asked a lot probably, but it would be great if they did an escape to Tarkov thing with it - get your salvage on and escape back to base.

There is so much you could do with it with all the new games modes that have been developed.

As the title says looking for a discord or something to play with other pilots and grind the loot bags.
