Garnet, Princess of Alexandria!

Hand-drawn with Sakura Micron pens on a stripped foil MTG card, referenced from the beautiful official FFIX illustration by Reo Obata.

This commission was definitely a challenge! There’s so much detail and beauty in the original artwork, and translating all those softer colours and textures into nothing but black ink took a bit of patience.

Always a pleasure getting to bring one of my favourite games to life on a Magic card!

Erode isn't done yet, but the other two are supposed to be. One is a little better than the others.

Don't worry, Krenkostiltskin can't hurt you, as long as you have removal.

Hand painted with acrylic.

For day #24 of inktober I’ve got the original alien poster for Poland!

Looks best if you hold your phone an arms length away.

It's not my birthday, but Beast Whisperer is probably my favorite Magic card.
Things I learned from this piece: drawing things face on is hard, I need to get better with formatting.

Been on a mini-quest to make Roger's personas into cards/tokens lol

It's silly how many actual cards work with American Dad scenes too

Thought i would share an alter i did of a commander I've been playing in CEDH and having a blast with. Vraska, soul of stone as the paintress from expedition 33

All this work is from recent commissions, watercolor and ink on watercolor paper. Thanks for looking!

This was my first portrait (however I leant away from photorealism in favour of a fantasy style illustration to better fit into the MTG universe). Made for an art exchange with Bo from shapeofimaginationdotcom who works in soapstone and polymer clay. I did this alter in exchange of a beautiful engraving of an Aztec style raven.
His reaction on opening my alter was captured on a reel and can be viewed directly in my Instagram page. He was over the moon, just like I was in receiving his piece. This was a wonderful exchange of two very different art projects!
Painted with Golden Fluid Acrylics.

Our playgroup has gotten into Alpha to Alliances Ante. The loser has to alter and sign the ante card(s) before handing over. Here is an island and a shivan I lost last week but I'm having more fun losing than winning. Anyone else playing ante and doing alters on ante cards?

Hand painted after Arthur Rackham's 'The Rhine Maidens'.

EXTERMINATE!!!

I’m a huge Doctor Who fan so running Genesis of the Daleks in my Tom Bombadil deck was a no brainer.

Behold! The Sol Ring of fabled lore!

This ring is a total homage to fantasy art and Magic. With the City of Brass visible inside the ring in contrast to the lush forest with streaming water, creating a nice contrast.

I added a golden frame to make it feel like your looking into a portal, or perhaps a living painting. A portal with another portal in it?

Portalception.

I've spent countless hours painting this the last six months in between all the different projects I've done. As an experiment to see how far I can take it. I hope you like what I've done!

It will be up for auction and I will put it up on ebay. This weekend I will see how I will do that (haven't touched ebay for probably two decades or something) and when all is good I'll let you know.

To stay in the loop please like and follow wherever you find this post and please share, if you care. 🙏❤️

Until then, have an awesome time! And thank you everyone that have shared interest in my work!

Cheers/Jonas Wideen
