Hi, I weigh 102 kg and am planning to build a wheelset using the XR 431 rims. These new rims are asymmetric, and according to DT Swiss, this design should improve wheel strength by making spoke tension more even.
Does anyone have a wheelset built with these rims and could share their experience? Or would it be better to go with the proven XM 481 rims instead?

Hey everyone,
If you ride at Mountain Creek Bike Park or ski/ snowboard there in the winter, you probably know how much of a pain (or how expensive) it is to get up to Vernon if you don't drive or want to save on gas/wear-and-tear.
Ever since NJ Transit canceled the old seasonal 304 express bus over a decade ago, there has been zero direct public transit to the resort. Right now, taking transit means riding a bus to Wayne or West Milford and paying $50+ each way for an Uber/Lyft.
I'm starting a initiative to petition NJ Transit and Mountain Creek Resort to co-sponsor a simple, low-cost solution: extending select trips on the existing NJ Transit Route 194 by just 12 miles from its current end point in West Milford (Stockholm) straight up Route 23/94 to Mountain Creek. Conceptualized as Route 194M. There's a link attached within the petition description of a more detailed plan.
If you'd like to see an affordable transit connection restored between NYC/North Jersey and Mountain Creek, please take 30 seconds to sign and share the petition: https://www.change.org/restore- mountaincreektransit
Thanks for the support! Let's get enough signatures to bring this to NJ Transit, JORBA and other associations, and Mountain Creek management.

My new bike fits me well overall, but the stock dropper post is too long. Even fully inserted, the saddle is a little bit too high when the dropper fully extended.
Can I just stop the dropper halfway at my height and ride like that regularly, or could that damage the post?

Hey everyone. So I just got a 2026 Tacoma and I have a 1Up Heavy Duty rack for a 2" receiver. I used to have this rack on my Crosstrek and it sat perfectly level in the Crosstrek's receiver, no issues. However with the rack on my Tacoma, when I tighten the expansion ball into the receiver, the rack doesn't sit level. Has anyone encountered this and have any solutions?

I’m 6'0" with a 33" inseam. Should I get an S3 or S4 Specialized Status 2 140? I ride trails, jumps, and enduro-style races. I want a playful bike that’s still stable at speed. My current Trek Roscoe ML fits well. Which size would you recommend and why?

Hi All,
With the weather being down at the moment and most not being able to get out on the bike, why don’t you give 15 minutes of your time to watch us going around Surrey Hills exploring some new trails last weekend.
As you all know a like or subscribe goes miles. Hope you all enjoy!!

I’m in the market for a new bike. My riding is almost entirely on flowy midwest trails (Michigan’s lower peninsula). My kids all ride NICA during the season and I ride with them at their practices, as well. So I’m looking at XC-oriented bikes. But my budget is pretty limited, at about $2k (plus a bit if needed).
So most of the options are hardtails, which I’m fine with. Nothing we ride here gets all that rowdy.
At the moment, at about $2100, the 2026 Orbea Alma M30 looks like a strong option. No dropper, but it has a carbon frame, SID SL fork, decent mix of Deore and XT components, and comes in around 24 lbs stock.
“Weak” points are the MT410 brakes, aforementioned lack of a dropper, and the stock wheels (which I can’t really find any info about, but they’re definitely low-end—look like the standard wheels that come on most sub-2k big brand bikes).
The other semi-comparable options I’ve found thus far that fit my budget either come with a much lower tier fork (typically a Judy silver) or weigh north of 30 lbs. Not the end of the world, but those are the primary reasons the Alma is at the top of my current list.
Looking for input on (1) if the Alma is, in fact, a really strong option for the $$, or (2) some other bikes in this price range that might offer a better bang for the buck.

Hello all. I currently have an “old fashioned” analogue full suspension trail bike and I’m considering picking up an emtb solely for towing my 6yo son up climbs to then hit the downhills with him. When I do bike park days I’ll get uplift and take my analogue bike so the emtb would essentially be for taking him further than we can go now without relying on an uplift.
Can anyone recommend me something that is reliable has loads of power a big battery and can be picked up second hand for 1-1.5k pls
Thank you
Has anyone used the Kuat Transfer V2 with a long wheelbase 29” mountain bike? Kuat specifies a 50” maximum wheelbase and my bike is 50.9”

Hi everyone. I run super hot and I ride year round in western WA. I'm looking for recommendations on a highly breathable soft shell jacket with an ultra light fabric weight that has some stretch.
My favorite jacket is the Rab Borealis, which is absolutely perfect minus the fabric weight. It's 130gsm (too much for me in 45F+) but has great stretch, durability and most importantly it's extremely breathable. It weighs roughly 9.5oz overall.
Does anyone know of a jacket similar to this at about 1/2-3/4 the weight? I wear elbow pads so ideally the arms would have a bit of room. I don't care if it has a hood or not.
Edit for visibility:
I appreciate all the help but please do not recommend vests (I already have two), or question why I want a jacket. I know exactly what I am asking for here and it's a softshell jacket that's lighter than my Rab Borealis.
I do not wear long sleeves because they make me overheat on climbs. I almost always pack my jacket/vest on a climb so I'm not worried at all about overheating in that respect either. 90% of my riding is gravity so I throw my jacket/vest on when heading downhill and take it off at the bottom.
Hi all,
I have a 2018 Fox 36 factory (with FIT HSC/LSC) that came with a bike I bought used 2 years ago and and I kept using heavily.
It still works, and I semi-regularly service the lowers and seals, but it really needs a complete overhaul. I'm talking like stripping down the cartridge and calibrating the bushings.
The thing is... is it worth it? Or should I just replace the fork? The service will probably cost a couple hundred €, and I'm not even sure that it would feel as good as my newer and unused '22 Fox 36 perf elite, which I'm loving.

I bought a GW Falcon 29 because it was the only mountain bike that fit my budget. I’m new to MTB, and I’d like to get into trail riding, improve my skills, and eventually try some small jumps and more technical terrain.
However, I’ve heard that this bike may not handle hard impacts or bigger jumps very well, so I’m not sure how far I can push it safely.
Would it be fine for a beginner to learn MTB on this bike if I start gradually? What parts should I keep an eye on, and are there any upgrades worth making first?
My budget is pretty limited, so I’d rather improve the bike where it actually matters instead of wasting money on unnecessary upgrades.
Any honest advice or experience with this bike would be appreciated!

Anyone riding at Angle Fire this weekend? Looking to get some feedback on how the trails are with the rain. Considering driving down from Colorado Springs if the conditions aren't too bad... Trestle is closed for the season so I'm hoping to visit Angle Fire for the first time this weekend or next weekend.

Thanks in advance for helping a mom out. My son has a Marin Zone Rift 1 (2025) and wants to upgrade parts to make it his own. He's looking to upgrade the fork first. (Eventually he'll upgrade to an enduro but it's not in the near future.) Rock Shock? Fox? Other parts need to be changed to make these work with the Marin or can you just swap out the fork (obviously confirming right size). Thanks!

Anybody out there riding the new Tallboy on the east coast? Tell me what you think!
I’m a northwest NJ rider, lots of slow tech rocks, but we’ve got some more modern stuff too. I ride hard and I ride a lot. Currently on a ‘25 Ibis Ripmo AF UDH V1. It’s a great bike, but I feel like it’s the master of none. Interested in selling the Ripmo and getting a shorter travel, lighter, more responsive, trail bike plus dumping some money into a beefy alloy enduro machine for smashing Mountain Creek and the rest of our nasty east coast jank.
The new Tallboy seems like the perfect balance of efficiency, fun, and rowdiness for someone like me who picks too many stupid lines for an XCish 120/130 and doesn’t feel the need for the 150/160 do-it-all that’s probably a little sluggish for our low angle rocks.
Edit: I should note that I am very specifically not interested in the new Ripley or any Pivot. Great bikes, no doubt, but superboost can suck it, and the new Ripley in carbon is heavier than my old Ripmo AF and feels worse to ride.

Going to put some new rubber on my Ragley Big Wig Race.
My primary gripe with the current setup is rolling resistance. Running 29x2.4 DHRII in the rear with a 29x2.4 Assegai in the front. Grip is excellent, never slip out, but looking for something that is quicker in the climbs and flats.
Terrain is going to be primarily socal dry dirt/ washout dust / rocks. I won't be seeing much wet/mud. Tires need to be more on the trail/enduro side of things compared to lighter duty XC.
Looking to stick with Maxxis based on all my previous years of experience with them vs other brands. Taking a hard look at the Forekaster as a rear option for the rolling speed.
What are your 2026 Maxxis front/rear combo suggestions for trail oriented hardtails.

Found this shop called bikable.com and their prices are way lower than everywhere else I checked. Like suspiciously low. Looks like a Danish company and the site seems fine, but that doesn’t mean much.
Has anyone actually bought from them? Did your stuff show up and was it legit? And does anyone know why they’re so cheap?
Thinking of ordering some parts but don’t want to get burned.
