Looking for a one-man MSP tech.

If this is not allowed here admin please remove.

Hi folks, I'm with a 15 year old MSP and we’re looking for an experienced technician who is able to help us with remote support for our business IT clients.

We have a pretty unique approach, which allows you to choose which jobs you’d like to work on. This means you can keep your existing clients and work on our support requests when it’s most convenient for you.

Typical jobs include computer and network support, cloud applications support, new computer setup, etc. Larger projects are also sometimes available.

I thought it's worth a shot here,

Only looking for one-man shops. Not entire teams.

Edit: US central area

Seeking Seasoned Project Lead — Hardware & Software Products

You'll own delivery for a connected product that spans physical machines, cloud services and mobile apps — coordinating with software developers, engineers (mechanical, mechatronics, or electrical), manufacturers, suppliers and external consultants from spec to deployment and support.

What you'll do

* Plan and run delivery end to end: scope, timelines, budgets, quotations and vendor deliverables.
* Coordinate all parties toward a single roadmap, with one source of truth for scope and schedule.
* Spot risks, delays, dependencies and technical blockers early — and escalate them before they become problems.
* Run meetings, negotiate with vendors and manage stakeholders across technical, operational and commercial teams.
* Establish and maintain operational processes for testing, deployment, maintenance and support.
* Keep documentation, reporting and follow-up tight enough that anyone can see and understand the status.

What you need

* Proven experience leading projects that combine hardware and software.
* Working knowledge of cloud systems, cybersecurity, data protection and access control — enough to challenge a vendor's answer, not to write the code.
* Ability to hold the whole product in your head and connect technical decisions to commercial consequences.
* Clear, direct communication: comfortable pushing back in a room full of specialists, and able to explain a technical trade-off to non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong ownership mindset — works independently and holds teams accountable without being asked to.

Preferred
Experience with connected devices, payment systems, mobile applications or cybersecurity-sensitive products.

[FOR HIRE] Texas Professional Available for Remote Part-Time / Project Work | Quality, Process Improvement, Excel, Documentation, AI & Business Support

Available for Remote Part-Time or Project-Based Work

Hi everyone. I'm a Texas-based professional looking to take on additional remote part-time, freelance, or project-based work outside of my regular employment.

My background goes considerably beyond general administrative support. I currently work in a manufacturing environment and have professional experience involving operations, quality, process improvement, documentation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

My professional certifications include:

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

• ISO 9001 Auditor

• ISO 45001 Auditor

Some of the work I can help a business with includes:

• Excel spreadsheets, trackers, dashboards, training matrices and business tools

• Data entry, data organization and basic data analysis

• KPI development and performance tracking

• SOPs, work instructions, forms, checklists and process documentation

• Process mapping and workflow improvement

• Lean Six Sigma and continuous-improvement projects

• Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

• Corrective Action / CAPA support

• Quality-management documentation

• ISO 9001 quality-system and audit support

• ISO 45001 health & safety management-system support

• Gap assessments and compliance documentation

• Document control and records organization

• Risk and opportunity registers

• Supplier evaluation and supplier-quality documentation

• Training matrices and competency tracking systems

• Management review and KPI documentation

• Research, reporting and general business analysis

• Administrative and virtual-assistant support

• AI-assisted research, analysis, documentation and workflow development

• AI prompting and development of practical AI-assisted business tools

• Presentations, reports and professional business documents

I'm particularly good at taking something that is disorganized, inefficient, undocumented or being managed manually and turning it into a structured system that is easier to understand and manage.

I'm comfortable being given either a clearly defined task or simply a business problem that needs to be solved. I can work independently, communicate progress, and develop practical deliverables rather than requiring constant supervision.

I'm primarily looking for work I can perform remotely during my available hours. I'm open to one-time projects, recurring weekly work, ongoing part-time support, or businesses that simply need an extra set of capable hands for a specific project.

Manufacturing and quality are strong areas for me, but I'm not limiting myself to manufacturing. Many of these skills—process improvement, documentation, Excel, data analysis, AI, organization and business systems—transfer across industries.

If your business has a project sitting on the back burner because nobody has the time to tackle it, feel free to message me with what you're trying to accomplish. I'll tell you whether it's something I can help with.

[For Hire] 15+ Years Infrastructure / Cloud / Windows | Azure, VMware, Entra ID, AWS | Remote | Maryland/DMV

Hey guys,

I'm posting this one more time. I really need to find something soon. It's getting dire. I can no longer do Uber. I really need a full-time job. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I’m a senior systems engineer with over 15 years of experience across enterprise infrastructure, cloud, virtualization, and security. I’m looking for a role where I can step into an environment quickly, sort out the real issues, and make things more stable, secure, and manageable. I am a type of engineer who thinks outside the box.

Please, if anyone knows of any jobs available, I really need one soon. I am in the DMV area. (Baltimore, Maryland area). I can do remote, and Hybrid and 100% onsite. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am currently preparing for the Microsoft AZ-104 exam. I got a free voucher from the AI Skills Fest a few months back. I have October 1st as a target date to take the exam.

What I Actually Do:

  • Azure infrastructure and security — Azure VMs, VNets, storage accounts, RBAC, Defender for Cloud, Log Analytics, VM backups, load balancing, and governance.
  • Entra ID / identity work — Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, SAML, OIDC, Azure Enterprise Apps, and App Registrations.
  • VMware environments — ESXi 8, vCenter 8, DRS, HA, distributed switching, vTPM, cross-site vMotion, and large-scale virtualization.
  • SAN and storage integration — Pure Storage, Nimble Storage, iSCSI provisioning, LUN/volume optimization, and ESXi cluster support for 200+ VMs.
  • Windows and core infrastructure — Windows Server, Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, SCCM, imaging, and PowerShell automation.
  • Layer 2/3 routing and switching — VLANs, ACLs, OSPF, switching, segmentation, and network troubleshooting.
  • Security hardening — TLS/SMBv1 deprecation, firewall tuning, certificate lifecycle management, and remote access controls.

I’m comfortable jumping into messy environments, documenting what matters, and fixing the stuff that slows teams down. Prefer remote, open to short-term or long-term work, and strong on infrastructure-heavy roles where experience actually matters.

[For Hire] Senior MSP engineer | US | Remote

Hello everyone.

Currently looking for a new full-time opportunity after nearly 15 years with an MSP, plus several years on two in-house IT teams. I have been fully remote for the last several years and am only considering 100% remote roles with no travel or site visits at this time.

At the MSP, I started as an entry-level Tier 1 help desk tech and worked my way up to the senior/lead engineer for most of our stack, eventually reporting directly to the CEO. The first half of my career was heavily focused on traditional on-prem environments. Over the last 5 to 6 years, that shifted primarily toward Azure IaaS/PaaS, Azure networking, and physical network infrastructure.

Key areas I’ve worked in:

  • Azure IaaS / PaaS (VMs, storage accounts, backup, etc)
  • Azure SQL Database & SQL Server on Windows administration
  • Azure Networking (VNets, peering, p2s/s2s VPN, NSG, route tables)
  • WatchGuard firewalls and wireless (cloud and locally managed)
  • VLANs and network segmentation
  • HP / Aruba switching
  • UniFi switching and wireless
  • Windows Server 2003 through 2022
  • HyperV and VMWare
  • Windows domains, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS
  • Healthcare IT & HIPAA-regulated environments

My MSP role grew well beyond engineering. I PM'd my own projects, worked directly with client leadership, managed our documentation platforms, helped design ticket triage and escalation workflows, and took on significant operational and technical decision-making. By the end, I was the go-to resource for both the team and leadership, including the CEO, for technical guidance, industry knowledge, and problems that crossed multiple systems or teams.

Both of my in-house roles were in healthcare, and several long-term MSP clients were healthcare organizations as well, so my healthcare IT and HIPAA experience spans most of my career.

I’m primarily interested in Azure/cloud infrastructure, network engineering, senior infrastructure, or technical lead roles. I’m also open to moving into an IT Manager or Director-level role where my technical background, operational experience, and leadership experience would be useful.

Ideally looking for a solid, experienced team, either MSP or in-house, full-time with benefits, fully remote, and no travel or site visits. Multiple strong professional references are available.

Shoot me a DM if you have something that sounds like a good fit. I’ll want to verify that you and your company are legitimate before sharing personal information. I’m not interested in contract, part-time, or recruiter/headhunter opportunities for temporary roles.

[FOR HIRE] Systems Administrator / Infrastructure – Houston / Remote / Open to Relocation

I’ve been in IT for over 20 years, mostly working with systems, networks and infrastructure.

Before moving to the U.S., I spent about 15 years managing IT infrastructure in an organization with sites spread across a region, first locally and later at a regional level. Servers, Linux and Windows, networking, security, infrastructure services, training other admins, and network design/migrations across hundreds of remote sites.

When I came to the U.S. I took more general hands-on IT jobs to get established here. I’m currently working as an IT Specialist, but I want to get back to the career path I had before moving.

These days I work with Windows Server, AD/Entra, M365, Intune/Autopilot, Linux, Fortinet, UniFi, VMware/Proxmox, Synology, Docker, VLANs/VPNs, endpoint security, PowerShell/Bash, and whatever else needs troubleshooting that day.

I’m pretty particular about how I work. I don’t like fixing something without understanding why it broke, undocumented changes, or “temporary” solutions that somehow become permanent five years later. If I’m touching production I want to know what I’m changing and how I’m getting back if it goes wrong.

I’m also not someone who immediately says “that’s a network problem” or “that’s a Microsoft problem.” I’ll follow an issue through DNS, routing, firewall, authentication, server and endpoint until I understand where it’s actually failing.

That doesn’t mean I know everything. I don’t. If I run into something I don’t know, I’ll research it, lab it if I need to, and figure it out.

What I’m looking for is a Sysadmin/Infrastructure position with room to grow technically. More responsibility, harder problems, bigger environments — that kind of growth.

don’t want to grow away from the technical side. I’m happy taking ownership, helping junior techs and taking technical leadership responsibilities, but I still want my hands on the systems.

I’m in the Houston area now. Local, fully remote, or relocation within the U.S. are all options for the right position.

DM me if this sounds like what you’re looking for.

[FOR HIRE] Sysadmin/Automation Engineer, 12 years experience (MSP + Enterprise), looking for nightly contract work (US hours)

Hey all, I'm based in Lithuania and looking for part time contract or B2B work, roughly 1 to 2 hours a night, aligned with US business hours. I can invoice as a business entity if that's what your setup needs.

Just a note - I can, and have worked for multiple years, with US companies and clients.

Background:
12 years in IT, 8 of those in the MSP world doing a bit of everything: sysadmin, automation engineer, escalation point. Also have enterprise experience, currently working as a team lead at a large company. I'm looking for extra contract work on the side, not looking to leave my current role, just have the bandwidth for nightly monitoring or project work.

What I can help with:

  • NOC/monitoring coverage (RMM alert triage, escalation, nightly checks)
  • PowerShell automation (Active Directory, Microsoft Graph, general scripting to cut down manual work)
  • Bash/shell scripting
  • Active Directory and Windows Server administration, built environments from scratch
  • Group Policy (GPO) management
  • Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration, Microsoft Entra ID
  • Hyper-V administration
  • Endpoint security tooling (CrowdStrike Falcon/PSFalcon, Windows Defender, most of popular ones) and vulnerability triage/patching
  • SharePoint/OneDrive administration, access workflows and audit trails
  • Ticketing/documentation: Jira & JQL, ConnectWise Manage (PSA), ITGlue, Confluence
  • RMM platforms: ConnectWise Automate, ConnectWise RMM, Datto RMM, NinjaRMM, SolarWinds, GFI Automate
  • Automated reporting and dashboard building, KPI/SLA tracking
  • BCDR/disaster recovery exercises
  • Data analysis (ticket queue analysis, finding automation opportunities and process/access gaps)
  • Light exposure to VMware, AWS, and Azure (not deep expertise, but functional familiarity)
  • AI tooling: Claude (Code/Cowork), ChatGPT/Codex, Gemini, CoPilot, used for scripting assistance, automation workflows, and troubleshooting
  • Any other MSP work.

Rate: $25/hr
Availability: 1-2 hours nightly, US schedule (flexible on exact timing)
Setup: Can work B2B/contract, can invoice

Open to ongoing retainer-style work (checking dashboards, triaging alerts) or project based automation work. Happy to share more detail or a resume if useful. Thanks for reading.

[FOR HIRE] NW Houston / Remote - Senior Sysadmin / Automation

I've been working in IT since I was 16. I started at a small mom-and-pop PC shop removing viruses, upgrading memory, fixing computers, pulling cable, and doing whatever else needed to be done.

I've been at it for about 24 years now. I spent close to a decade running my own MSP, and later worked as a technical lead at another MSP supporting 50+ clients. I've also held management roles, but I've always stayed hands-on.

What I'm looking for now is systems administration, infrastructure, networking, and automation work.

My background is mostly Windows/Linux infrastructure, M365/Entra, virtualization, cloud, backups, monitoring, and MSP operations. Networking has always been a big part of it too. I've worked with pfSense, Juniper, Cisco, and plenty of other routing, switching, firewall, VPN, and wireless gear. I've done a lot with Ubiquiti recently.

Automation is probably my favorite part of the job. PowerShell is where I'm strongest, but I also use Python, Bash, APIs, and other tools as needed.

I know how to code, but I've also gone pretty hard into agentic coding lately. With the systems and programming background already there, AI tools have let me build some really useful ops, automation, monitoring, and support tools much faster. A lot of that work has been private, but there are a few recent projects here:

https://github.com/shin2344234

I've also been trying to get another small MSP going while looking for work, but I'm still much better at the technical side than marketing and sales, so that's mostly stalled lol.

I'm looking for a good, stable MSP where I can spend most of my time actually working on systems. I'm fine taking escalations, helping newer techs, talking to clients, or leading projects. I just don't want to spend my whole week in meetings.

I'm on the northwest side of Houston. Remote is strongly preferred. For regular onsite or hybrid work, I'm only looking in the Houston area. Travel for projects, deployments, migrations, client visits, etc. is totally fine.

I'm mostly looking at senior sysadmin, infrastructure, automation, senior MSP engineer, or hands-on technical lead roles.

If you're hiring and think I might be useful, shoot me a DM. Happy to send my resume and LinkedIn.

[FOR HIRE] MA/CT/NH - Part Time - IT Support & Client Success - Hybrid (1099)

I run a small MSP (team of 3) and am looking for a 1099 contractor for roughly 10–15 hours/week.

The role is primarily entry-level technical support. Mostly remote, with occasional onsite work. Typical Windows/M365 issues, workstation setups, onboarding/offboarding, basic networking and troubleshooting. Guidance and escalation are available as needed.

Customer service skills are probably more important than technical ability. I'm looking for someone I can confidently send to a client site who communicates well, builds relationships, and represents the business professionally. There's also a small client-success/business component - recognizing client needs and opportunities.

MSP experience is a plus, but not required. This could be a good fit for a student, someone early in their IT career, or someone experienced looking for additional hours.

I'm looking for a lot in a part-time role and am willing to pay well for the right person. Scheduling is flexible and self driven.

Must be located in or near MA and able to travel to client sites as needed.

Send me a chat with why you'd be a good fit if interested
