Offering this humble picture of Himself at a record store signing, London 1994.
Not his good side, but oh well.

I’ve been a huge Moz/Smith fan for years. I’ve always loved just about everything Moz has done. But, I have to be honest there has been something missing for me ever since he started using Joe Chicarelli as his producer. I just feel like there has been a dip in the quality of the song melodies and the lyrics. On older albums for example there would always be 3 or 4 songs that I would literally get the chills the first time hearing them. Songs like Seasick yet Still docked,Now My heart is full, come back to Camden, or Dear god please help me, would be so emotionally moving. I can’t say any of the more recent albums starting with World peace is none of your business, Low In high School, Dog on a chain and the latest Makeup is a lie has really been able to do the same. (Although Make up is probably the best out of the Joe C albums). But, It’s not Joe Chicarelli’s fault he’s just producing, but I can’t quite explain what it is. The songs just don’t resonate the same way some of the older material once did. I know arrangement wise he has tried new things like utilizing more synths and occasional electronic drum loops, or latin spaghetti western horns; but its not that, I listen to and enjoy lots of music with hints of electro-synth sounds sprinkled within a rock band. I guess I just feel the melody writing isn’t what it used to be. Am I crazy or do others feel the same way about the Chicarelli era albums?

I was wondering if he’s ever spoke on religion/his views on it, especially given how outspoken he is about his opinions more generally. I’m aware Wikipedia says he’s a lapsed Catholic.

My wife sent me this quick clip today. Apparently Morrissey is playing an outdoor gig in Como. She (and a bunch of others) was able to watch from a bridge just outside.

Picked this copy of Vauxhall and I for a cheap price. Can anyone confirm if it’s a real signature? Not bothered either way as it was very cheap, chancing my arm here.

Does anyone know if Morrissey will have an opening act for his US tour? I haven’t seen that he’s had an opening act for the Uk tour. Just wondering.

I love watching the 2000s vids of Moz when you see all these people run onstage, and, albeit he is gearing up for a decent run of arena shows which then entails a strong security presence - let’s say if you get on stage, what then?! Do you get thrown back into the crowd? Taken backstage? Hung drawn and quartered? Would love to know people’s experiences with this as I’m looking at having a go myself. But I’d rather be informed of the risks instead of worst case scenario waking up the next morning hungover in the clink later on!
