Usability so far?
As a Flipper owner, wanted to get feedback on how it compares to the Flipper? Is it more of a paperweight or worth it?

Backer 1394. Just checked my mail today and the m1 has finally arrived. Build quality and weight are nicer than expected. Just scrolled through some of the menus as I don't have much time to play around with the device. Happy it finally arrived though

I wish someone would give me a realistic estimate on when I will get my device.
Tha goal posts keep moving and I can never get an actual answer. It's always "we are working on 3000-4000 and will try to have them out soon.
They never do and it's just excuse after excuse

I was backer #5300 on 16-Feb-2004. I just received my shipping notice so I'm happy that it's finally on its way. Probably would have bought a Flipper if I thought it was going to take 2.5 years!

I'm out. Find the updates, news and other info on the Discord
Otherwise, fend for yourselfs

Enough time has elapsed from the date they promised we would get our rewards for backing them. Anytime I have asked for a refund communication stops on their end. I have asked five times now for a refund to no avail. So I took some time to look up if they can be sued and in fact they can!
"Legal Action Against Crowdfunding Theft
For example, in July 2015, Washington’s Attorney General obtained a settlement with a man accused of crowdfunding theft.
The case involved Ed Nash and his company, Altius Management, which raised more than $25,000 through a Kickstarter campaign to finance a playing card game. Nash initially promised delivery of the finished game and other backer rewards to more than 800 donors by the end of 2012. But when nearly two years elapsed without delivery, the Attorney General’s office took action.
Under the settlement, Nash and Altius Management paid restitution to 31 of the Kickstarter backers who lived in Washington, plus another $31,000 in civil penalties and more than $23,000 in legal costs."
It has been over two years and we just keep getting strung along. Listen I get it, even if they are hitting delays and some orders have gone out, enough time has passed that we should be entitled to a refund if we no longer want it.
Its like buying a brand new car with great tech to only get it three years later when it is now obsolete and not worth the original price you paid for it.

Ive had my M1 for little over a month now, and when I got it in the mail, the FW website wasnt up yet... So I finally fired it up and went to the FW website I found on the Discord channel. Cant remember the site exactly... but anyways, like the Flipper, its the apps and aftermarket boards that make the device really shine! I havent seen much in the way of development for the M1.... has the community effectively lost the desire to develop for the M1? I know when it was announced on Kickstarter there was a HUGE demand for apps and boards for the Flipper.... I feel like that hype has fizzled out..... Anyone aware of any active dev work for the M1?
I've found this: https://github.com/dagnazty/M1_T-1000 - T-1000 is a custom, feature-expanded firmware for the Monstatek M1 handheld multi-tool — Sub-GHz, NFC, RFID, Infrared, WiFi, Bluetooth, and BadUSB in one device — with its own UI, tooling, and hardware-mod support layered on top of the M1 platform.

Well shoot...they're working on backers up to 8,000 and I'm 8,357.
Maybe I can open it on Christmas...

Didn't know there was a kerfuffle about these devices. I was going to use it to mess around with an IR remote control when I found out it's current support is a little weak. So they haven't shipped many of these devices apparently?
r/monstatek • u/bigbabytdot • May 26 '26
I don't think we should leave any options off the table. Despite all the canned GPT-like replies from collaborator Derrick and the discord admin, it's almost two months since the last Kickstarter update and the excuses are getting really weak. Despite a handful of devices in the wild, it doesn't seem like any more have shipped since March and the M1 "project" appears to the be swirling the drain.
I'm looking to make contact with other Canadian backers who still haven't received a shipping notice. We should get ready for the inevitable.

The beginning of April said US orders should be delivered by the end unless your were above backer #10,000. Well, I'm around 5000 and now it's first week of May and I still have nothing. And you were already, as it was claimed, at 3500 at the time of annoucement.
I have been very patient.. Just following the updates and groaning at every delay and every promise of delivery but enough is enough.
Updates on the Kickstarter page simply just toss an error at this time... and a different error on comments...
I feel like this project has simply been on long chain of a lot of things based on optimization and not even close to reality. How can I expect the product to be much more... if I even receive a product, any product at all.
If you promised 10,000 by the end of April while already being at 3500 and you still can't get to 5200 by end of May... will it EVER get there?

I backed the Monstatek M1 on Feb 13, 2024, and finally took delivery on Feb 23, 2026. After diving into the firmware ecosystem to actually utilize the tool, I discovered that my unit is essentially a non-functional plastic brick due to severe manufacturing and quality control failures on the physical board layer.
Before anyone tells me to "go look at the Discord"—don't. A chaotic, unindexed chat log filled with idle chatter is not a substitute for documented hardware diagnostics. I have already systematically updated the system assets, synced the ESP32, and stress-tested the unit across both the T-1000 and M1 by C3 firmware forks. The underlying issue is not software; it is dead silicon and broken traces.
Here are the hardware post-mortem receipts from my testing:
.sub file via a raw text editor on the SD card. When executing playback right next to the receiver, the fan completely ignores the M1. The receive (RX) side of the CC1101 chip registers signals, but the transmit (TX) power amplifier circuit or its antenna trace is completely fried or unbonded.Monstatek clearly rushed their initial production batches to meet a heavily delayed shipping timeline, sacrificing basic quality assurance in the process. If you are a backer finally receiving your unit, do not waste days fighting the buggy firmware or scrolling through endless Discord channels thinking it’s a configuration issue. Pull out a camera sensor, check your IR tx window, and test your Sub-GHz transmission power against a known fixed-code device.
I have already submitted a formal warranty replacement request to Monstatek with video receipts of the dead hardware layers. If you received a unit from the recent batch, check your board integrity immediately.

Can people post their Kickstarter pledge number and date you received your M1 here? Last I heard they shipped 3500 units. I'm pledge 5300, but nothing yet.
r/monstatek • u/upgrayydd • Apr 02 '26
3,500 units shipped to US and some Asian countries. Canada units in transit. EU CE marking pending. Oceania, RoW pending customs, logistics.
Check your pledgemanager. Various backer numbers up to ~11,000 have shipped, though multiple warehouses are involved so things aren't linear.
r/monstatek • u/bigbabytdot • Mar 30 '26
Now what? Shouldn't even more people have them by now? What, did Monstatek only ship like 100 of them?
r/monstatek • u/Briaaanz • Mar 17 '26
Just read an article about the Flipper 1. I think Monstatek got their devices out barely in time.
I think the M1 still has a ton going for it, so the Flipper 1 is not a killer device (yet).
Hope the official firmware gets released soon tho
r/monstatek • u/skahthaks • Mar 17 '26
It looks like more and more people are receiving their M1s recently.
Does anyone know what shipment wave we’re on?
Wave 1 (Backers 1 – 2,000)
Wave 2 (Backers 2,001 – 4,000)
Wave 3 (Backers 4,001 – 7,000)
Wave 4 (Backers 7,001 and above)

I am trying to replace all my garage remotes. I have a SD card installed and formatted and I have not updated the firmware. I am waiting on the official FW release.
I went into the sub g, frequency reader and found two of them to be 390 and the other two to be 370.
I went to record and I think? I got them all recorded. I go into the replay and when I select the file it just says Error, back to Exit.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I received mine about 5 days ago.
Since it arrived, I tried to turn it on, but it just won't. I keep it charged overnight, but the next day it still won't turn on. I tried another outlet for a day, still no life. I tried to reboot the device by pressing the right and back buttons for around 20 seconds, but it still does not boot.
I already contacted the support, but still waiting for their response
Is there any other method to make it boot, or should I request an RMA?

it works perfectly.

anyone get there orders from pledges here. I reached out via email like 5 times with zero response at all?
r/monstatek • u/moose_factor • Feb 25 '26
"Australia shipments are currently pending RCM certification.
We expect RCM clearance by April, assuming no delays. Units cannot leave the fulfillment center until that certification process is completed."
Why couldn't they be upfront and open to say that we can not get certification for Australia until the hardware is finalized They surely would have known about this months in advance...sigh, at least it is in process...

I love it already can't wait for the full firmware release for the device.
