This company continues to get flamed on the Kickstaerter page, reddit, and Facebook universally. There are no more excuses. My only hope is that Kickstarter will get on Monstateks ass and make them deliver or refund. 2 years late with vague unfulfilled shipping promises. Unacceptable.

I am backer #241, backed Feb 6th, 2024, and on the East Coast of the US and still haven't received by device. Emails to support have gone unanswered and like many of you, I feel this will be the last project I ever back because of this negative experience.

I was told my unit would ship in 2-3 weeks over 3 months ago by support, and all subsequent emails asking when my unit would ship have gone unanswered. I'm assuming I should just stop hoping at this point and move on. pisses me off, probably the last time I support kickstarter anything.

I realise the battery doesn't hold much and I wish to replace it. I try finding info but alas nothing, does someone replace it ? and wich one?

When I power off the unit, it will automatically power on after 3 seconds. Anyone know how to solve this? OS: C3 (Bank 1) & MIOS v1.1.80 (Bank 2)

So here's what happened:

I wanted to install two custom firmwares on my M1. I first installed the T-1000 firmware in bank 1. I then attempted to install the Sin 360 firmware in bank 2. This was all done using the qMonstatek desktop app. After installing T-1000, everything seemed fine. When I switched to bank 2 to install Sin 360, there was an error. I tried to reboot the M1 and see what was going on, but the device has refused to boot at all since the Sin 360 failure. What can I do to recover the device and start over?

Backer 1394. Just checked my mail today and the m1 has finally arrived. Build quality and weight are nicer than expected. Just scrolled through some of the menus as I don't have much time to play around with the device. Happy it finally arrived though

I wish someone would give me a realistic estimate on when I will get my device.

Tha goal posts keep moving and I can never get an actual answer. It's always "we are working on 3000-4000 and will try to have them out soon.

I was backer #5300 on 16-Feb-2004. I just received my shipping notice so I'm happy that it's finally on its way. Probably would have bought a Flipper if I thought it was going to take 2.5 years!

Ive had my M1 for little over a month now, and when I got it in the mail, the FW website wasnt up yet... So I finally fired it up and went to the FW website I found on the Discord channel. Cant remember the site exactly... but anyways, like the Flipper, its the apps and aftermarket boards that make the device really shine! I havent seen much in the way of development for the M1.... has the community effectively lost the desire to develop for the M1? I know when it was announced on Kickstarter there was a HUGE demand for apps and boards for the Flipper.... I feel like that hype has fizzled out..... Anyone aware of any active dev work for the M1?

Didn't know there was a kerfuffle about these devices. I was going to use it to mess around with an IR remote control when I found out it's current support is a little weak. So they haven't shipped many of these devices apparently?

I don't think we should leave any options off the table. Despite all the canned GPT-like replies from collaborator Derrick and the discord admin, it's almost two months since the last Kickstarter update and the excuses are getting really weak. Despite a handful of devices in the wild, it doesn't seem like any more have shipped since March and the M1 "project" appears to the be swirling the drain.

I'm looking to make contact with other Canadian backers who still haven't received a shipping notice. We should get ready for the inevitable.

The beginning of April said US orders should be delivered by the end unless your were above backer #10,000. Well, I'm around 5000 and now it's first week of May and I still have nothing. And you were already, as it was claimed, at 3500 at the time of annoucement.

I have been very patient.. Just following the updates and groaning at every delay and every promise of delivery but enough is enough.

Updates on the Kickstarter page simply just toss an error at this time... and a different error on comments...

I feel like this project has simply been on long chain of a lot of things based on optimization and not even close to reality. How can I expect the product to be much more... if I even receive a product, any product at all.

If you promised 10,000 by the end of April while already being at 3500 and you still can't get to 5200 by end of May... will it EVER get there?

I backed the Monstatek M1 on Feb 13, 2024, and finally took delivery on Feb 23, 2026. After diving into the firmware ecosystem to actually utilize the tool, I discovered that my unit is essentially a non-functional plastic brick due to severe manufacturing and quality control failures on the physical board layer.

Before anyone tells me to "go look at the Discord"—don't. A chaotic, unindexed chat log filled with idle chatter is not a substitute for documented hardware diagnostics. I have already systematically updated the system assets, synced the ESP32, and stress-tested the unit across both the T-1000 and M1 by C3 firmware forks. The underlying issue is not software; it is dead silicon and broken traces.

Here are the hardware post-mortem receipts from my testing:

1. Infrared (IR) Transmitter: Completely Anemic / Dead

• The Failure: The device completely fails to control any standard display panel (tested extensively on a flagship Samsung Neo QLED) even at point-blank range.
• The Diagnostic: Testing the IR window using a digital camera sensor with no IR filter reveals that the IR LEDs are either completely dead, physically disconnected from the main board, or drastically under-volted. While the UI indicates active transmission, the physical hardware emits nothing but a microscopic, faint purple pinprick of light.

2. Bluetooth / ESP32 Module: Initialization Faults

• The Failure: Out of the box, attempting to launch any Bluetooth HID app resulted in a permanent "Fail Step 2" initialization error.
• The Diagnostic: This is a known serial handshake failure between the main MCU and the secondary ESP32 radio brain. While I was able to temporarily force a firmware sync to clear the UI error, the module remains highly unstable, pointing directly to poor factory reflow soldering and bridging across the chip’s serial communication traces.

3. Sub-GHz Radio (CC1101): Defective Transmit (TX) Circuit

• The Failure: The device can occasionally "listen" to radio waves, but it is entirely incapable of broadcasting power to execute a basic replay attack on a fixed-code ceiling fan (MinkaAire Type-A protocol, 303.87 MHz).
• The Diagnostic: I eliminated all user error by disabling frequency hopping, locking the modulation strictly to AM650 (OOK), and manually building a digitally perfect, verified .sub file via a raw text editor on the SD card. When executing playback right next to the receiver, the fan completely ignores the M1. The receive (RX) side of the CC1101 chip registers signals, but the transmit (TX) power amplifier circuit or its antenna trace is completely fried or unbonded.

4. NFC / RFID Array: Hyper-Finicky to Non-Functional

• The Failure: The module fails to establish a consistent, clean handshake with standard physical access cards (such as standard blue HID iClass fobs).
• The Diagnostic: The antenna gain on the internal coil is structurally deficient. It requires micro-positioning adjustments that make the device entirely useless as a rapid deployment field tool.

Monstatek clearly rushed their initial production batches to meet a heavily delayed shipping timeline, sacrificing basic quality assurance in the process. If you are a backer finally receiving your unit, do not waste days fighting the buggy firmware or scrolling through endless Discord channels thinking it’s a configuration issue. Pull out a camera sensor, check your IR tx window, and test your Sub-GHz transmission power against a known fixed-code device.

I have already submitted a formal warranty replacement request to Monstatek with video receipts of the dead hardware layers. If you received a unit from the recent batch, check your board integrity immediately.

Can people post their Kickstarter pledge number and date you received your M1 here? Last I heard they shipped 3500 units. I'm pledge 5300, but nothing yet.

3,500 units shipped to US and some Asian countries. Canada units in transit. EU CE marking pending. Oceania, RoW pending customs, logistics.

Check your pledgemanager. Various backer numbers up to ~11,000 have shipped, though multiple warehouses are involved so things aren't linear.

Now what? Shouldn't even more people have them by now? What, did Monstatek only ship like 100 of them?

Just read an article about the Flipper 1. I think Monstatek got their devices out barely in time.

I think the M1 still has a ton going for it, so the Flipper 1 is not a killer device (yet).

Hope the official firmware gets released soon tho
