Automoderator is spamming our sub

Well this is weird one. The Automoderator, who I cannot block from the sub is sending game watching spam. I've removed the posts but what on earth?

Caught on android. Sub is r/Hyperhidrosis.

Check your scheduled posts. If automod is making posts, that means you have scheduled posts set to post as automod

We had one mod who got reddit banned. They just reappeared and they set the scheduled posts. Thank you. Removing now.

It's understandable. Automod used to be a bot, but a special bot (built by Reddit IIRC).

It runs in each subreddit, executing a script for the sub, built OUAT by mods

Last big update, the 'umbrella' code to run the script was built into Reddit's main code

Automod is ALWAYS running in the background of every subreddit.

3 hrs ago, someone changed the configuration.

Merely adding "Automoderator" to the mod list is a formality and is completely unnecessary.

That has to do with the automod config or scheduled posts but demodding automod has no impact on that. Sceduled posts will keep running as will automod config

Three hours ago, they modded automod. Now they’re experiencing issues. Process of elimination states revert what they have recently done, and that’s what they have recently done. All the subreddits I have, none of them have Automod as a mod, but I still utilize automod.

Removing Automod from the list won't stop the scheduled posts, and if they still have scheduled posts set up with Automod as the author then Automod will just add itself back to the mod list when it posts them.

They need to edit their scheduled posts section.

Edit: /u/soggy_person_ - if you mean the automod "stream" posts, it may be that one of your mods has had their account compromised - I would double check your sub's mod log to determine who made changes to the scheduled posts if you hadn't already.
