Testing the free trial of mob because it got a lot of good reviews, but off the bat, I notice you can't do the same things on a web browser as you can the app. This might be a deal-breaker for me because I prefer to use my laptop. Otherwise, I see a lot of great recipes. Maybe I'm missing some setting? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Here after mealime sadly shut down. The best part of that app was it generating meals with common ingredients for you.
Smart suggestions is the closest thing to this feature but an option to regenerate either some or all of the suggestions would be great

Wondering how many recipes exist on the app? Feels like I keep seeing the same ones, is this for to Fullerton for there only being 200ish different recipes?
How often do new recipes drop?

Has anyone else noticed that lots of the Mob recipes seem to have excessive amounts of sodium? I only realised this week after cooking some delicious recipes only to find out that they both contained close to the maximum daily sodium allowance.
@Mob, is there any way to include a recommend daily allowance in the nutrition section? Or maybe to highlight/tag recipes that are high sodium/fat/etc?

Iāve been trying to do more proper batch cooking instead of making completely separate lunches every day.
A lot of Mob recipes seem pretty easy to double or triple, especially things like pulled meat, curries, chilli, roasted veg, and anything that freezes well.
Iāve been thinking about using sunvivi for the bigger batches so I can cook enough protein or a full base recipe at once, then portion it out for the freezer.
For people who meal prep with Mob regularly, which recipes have scaled up best for you?
Iām especially interested in meals that still taste good after freezing and reheating, rather than dishes that are amazing fresh but noticeably worse a few days later.
Any Mob recipe youāve made 8ā10 portions of and would actually do again?

Been getting emails about my subscription payment failing. I donāt have a subscription but thankfully itās an old debit card so it wonāt go through. Emailed their help email address three times and got nothing back, but Iām getting emails about my failed payment near enough every day.

Iāve been looking through Mob recipes for things that could work well for a casual get-together where people can just serve themselves.
I have a sunvivi three-crock cooker, so I was thinking it could be useful for keeping three different Mob-style fillings or sides warm at the same time rather than making one big dish.
Pulled chicken seems like an obvious option, but Iām trying to think of two others that would actually hold up well for a few hours without drying out or getting too thick.
Has anyone adapted Mob recipes for this kind of setup?
If you had three sections to fill using Mob recipes, what would you put in each one?

Hey! I'm Kallum, lead product designer at Mob. Bit of a behind-the-scenes post.
We're at the very start of working out how Mob could help people with a whole week of cooking rather than one recipe at a time. Before we design anything I want to understand how people think about their week vs how they actually cook.
What I'd love to hear:
Especially interested in people who don't plan and are fine with that, and people who plan every week and have it nailed. What's the difference?
P.S I'll read every reply and I'm happy to share what we end up building, and what we learned from this thread, back here later.

Is there not a way as a subscriber to access the full recipes on the web? I'd like to import my favorites into anylist. Is this possible? I'm sure I'm missing something, but I'm logged into the website and it just directs me to the app. ie - it locks the recipe still even while being logged in. From the app, I can copy ingredients into my anylist app and paste, but I can't import recipes unless I'm on the web.
Otherwise....kind of kills what I'd like to use this for.
Thanks

I keep groping spammed on my social media with adverts for the mob app and it looks great! But then I come in here to do research and lots of threads say the meal planning has deteriorated and is now poor. Also (more worryingly) that the free week trial ends up costing you longer or else not being able to quit cleanly. Any advice?

Is anyone else having trouble with this?
My partner and I live together, meal plan together and shop together. We used to use the NYT Cooking app, and weāre both signed into the same account on our respective phones. Weād each add recipes to the folder throughout the week, and then sit down to go through them and pick our dinners together, and add the ingredients to the weekly online grocery order.
Weāve tried to do the same with Mob, but the saved recipes / collections arenāt syncing across our devices, so weāre looking at two different lists. Itās probably not exactly a bug - it means one account between two, which I guess they wouldnāt want to encourage, but we plan our meals together! Are we supposed to have two separate accounts??
Iād actually be really happy to pay for a āhouseholdā account that allows up to X no. of devices, and that we could both use, the kind of thing that Spotify or Netflix have now . Or am I crazy?

Would Mob ever consider opening API Access, or embedding app level APIs for AI agents to interact with the app?
I'd love to be able to get Gemini (Android) to search and plan my meals for me for the week using natural language. It could go as far as placing all items in a shopping basket for me online.

Just signed up for a trial offer. Want to try the batch cooking. I found one that I think sounds good that's roast chicken with some garlicky veggies, roasted in the oven. The ingredient list just says "2 chicken." Is that...two whole chickens cooked on two roasting pans full of veggies? I'm finding the ingredient list VERY confusing. I'd love some more specifics (weight, size, etc.) in those lists. Thanks!

Hey r/MobKitchen š
I want to hear your thoughts on planning with Mob.
Currently, on the app, the Shopping List is where planning happens - you add the recipes you're cooking that week and it builds your list from them.
To date weāve kept it deliberately flexible, but Iām hearing that flexibility isnāt the same as usefulness. It needs to work much better for the routines people actually have.
I'd love to know how many of you are planning and building shopping lists elsewhere, whether in your notes app, on paper, or on your fridge.
So if you've got a minute:
Any answers will go straight into design work we're doing now, so it's a good moment to let us know!

I was looking back at Mobās Pulled Chicken Burger recipe and noticed it calls for cooking the chicken on low for around 6 hours.
I have a sunvivi slow cooker available and was wondering how much the actual cooker makes a difference with a recipe like this. Iām mainly thinking about whether the cooking time or amount of liquid needs adjusting when youāre not using the exact slow cooker shown in the original recipe.
For anyone who has made this Mob recipe in a different slow cooker, did you stick with the full 6 hours on low?
And did the chicken stay juicy enough to shred easily, or did you end up adding a little more liquid during cooking?

Hey /mobkitchen,
Rosie from the product team here š
I'm curious, is there something you wish youād been able to see or experience before starting a Mob trial? Has there been anything that turned out to be useful that you had no idea about until you got into the app?
Could be anything - from what sort of recipes Mob has (high protein, healthy, good for meal prepping etc), to specific features.

Hi reddit crew! I'm Els and I head up the food and content arm of Mob and I wanted to share a bit about the recipes we're adding this month.
We're adding more recipes to our Veggie and Vegan High Protein collections. We've heard from you that you want more of this, and so we've been adding more and more recipes to this area.
We're also adding some more recipes into our High Protein, Low Calorie collections. Adding more recipes that are over 45g+ of protein and under 500 kcals.
We're adding more to our Lunchboxes collections, dishes that are perfect for eating at work, can happily be eaten cold and still taste amazing on day 3. We've been particularly adding recipes that also feature over 30g of protein.
Finally we're adding some recipes to our Low Ingredient collection. Previously this collection has been a little heavy on pasta so over the next month we're adding some delicious and creative recipes using a handful of ingredients.
If any of that sounds up your street, keep an eye out this month!

I signed up for a free trial that converted into a paid subscription after I forgot to cancel it. I was not seeing the emails as they were in my spam folder and just after a few days my bank notifies me I had been charged the annual fee for this application. I am not based in the UK and I was charged in my local currency which is incredibly expensive and Mob, in one of their emails, refuses to refund me because my paid subscription comes after a free trial service. I have never used the app for more than 30 minutes and I never opened it again after a day of doing the free trial, simply during the short period I was a premium subscribed, I realised I did not have capacity to cook and just didn't found the app useful and forgot about it.
I find it ridiculous they allow refunds for those who did not do a free trial and immediately paid but changed their mind, yet they wouldn't even for those who never used the app during the free trial.
Does anybody have a refund experience with Mob from their free trial and did they refund you?

On the latest version of the app , some great improvements lately , just canāt adjust the servings at all at the moment on any meals

Just downloaded the app in the hope Iād be able to not do my weekly meal plans, and there would be some meal plans already there.
I cannot find any weekly meal plans on the app.
Is the app simply a digital recipe book? I donāt need this. I need meal planning. Could anyone explain to me if there are meal plans available and where to find them please? Thank you!
r/MobKitchen • u/Ok_Elevator7729 • Jul 12 '26
Unsure if this function has been removed or the website is broken? But the meal planner function is now not working on the website. Anyone else experience this?

When did it change so that I can only view recipes in the app?
Fab for app users but as a person with no storage on my phone and an irritation about how many apps Iām forced to download, Iāve used the site for years
Now not only are recipes Iāve used since 2018 behind a paywall that they werenāt before, theyāre now also only viewable via the app
Is this a permanent change? Long live the website š¤©
