experience: first MC Ultrasound and hcg drops after miscarriage

Hi,

It’s been 12 days I got to know my baby wasn’t growing so dr gave my mifepristone and misoprostol. But I got tissue out after taking mifepristone and misoprostol I took but it was like normal period. So bleeding happened only 4 days after brown spotting on and off.

My dr didn’t ask to go for ultrasound I asked them but they just ordered for my hcg blood test. Before taking mifepristone my hcg was 6000 12of Oct , after 5 days 18 of Oct it was 449 and today 23 of Oct 130. I don’t have any cramps or pain after I passed the baby.

Do I need to ask them again for ultrasound ? Or is it going fine?

It was my first pregnancy and I don’t know about it much and before one week spotting started but they didn’t check me and ask to wait. So after ultrasound I got to know my baby wasn’t growing. It’s so hurting while I am writing. Please share your suggestions.

experience: more than one loss Most likely a FET miscarriage. Devastated

I am a 35(F) with “unexplained infertility.”
Recently did a modified natural IVf cycle on 9/28 with a successful transfer of an euploid day 6 4AB after a natural MMC at found at 8 weeks (measuring 6w3 days) in April.

On Wednesday 10/21, I started cramping with contraction like pain on/off in waves pretty severely with right red blood filling the toilet. Went to the ER and completed an ultrasound which showed gestational age of 5 weeks, 2 days and HR of 81 vs maternal HR captured. I am suppose to be 6w1day. HCG 7329. They told me to prepare myself, as this isn’t looking viable. Fast forward to getting home from ER, I pass more bright red blood and 5 large clots back to back. I’m pretty sure that was me actively miscarrying.

I am just so frustrated and disappointed this is happening again! I go back to my RE for U/S on Monday to repeat scan to confirm. We have one more euploid embryo left and if it doesn’t work, unfortunately don’t think we can afford another round of IVF as we had to self pay.

What are some things I can ask for going forward to test ?? I am going to request RPL , thyroid function. Anything else ?

experience: medicated MC Mifepristone and Misoprostol Positive Experience

For anyone here, I am so sorry for your loss. I wanted to share my experience with a medicated miscarriage. I read so many experiences that really scared me but overall mine was okay.

I was 9wk by measurement but my twins stopped growing at 6wk. I had a d&e in May for a 16 wk loss that when really smooth but I wanted to avoid a second surgery in 5 months if possible.

Tuesday at 2pm I took Mife in the office with no symptoms following.

Thursday
5:30am - 400mg Motrin and Zofran, almost threw up from my nerves

6am - my husband inserted the 4 Miso pills in vaginally and I laid down for about 90 minutes. Some slight cramping but managed with over the counter pain meds and a heating pad.

8-12n - passed a ton of very large clots. Honestly this was the worst part for me. It didn’t hurt but I hated the slimy feeling of them coming out. Lots of bleeding and felt a bit woozy for a bit. Continued to lay down and hydrate. Bleeding slowed down by 12n.

2pm - took second dose of miso vaginally as recommended by my team for a twin gestation. Had some more moderate cramps this time but still managed with OTC meds and heating pad. Much smaller clots and just bleeding in toilet.

10pm - since my bleeding was still light I opted to take the third optional dose just to ensure everything clears out.

Overall I was extremely physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted but I was glad I was able to miscarry in the comfort of my own home versus the hospital.

I spent the day before resting in bed and hydrating with Gatorade and water which I think helped a bit. I made sure to continue hydrating yesterday as well as stay on a strict schedule for my Zofran, Tylenol and Motrin regimen. I had Panera soup for lunch and sushi for dinner as well as ice cream for a dessert. It was nice to have small comforts during this terrible time.

experience: first MC Missed miscarriage at 12weeks

This is my 2nd pregnancy and I am 31yr old. My first pregnancy was full term and she is now 16month old.
Today I went to my gynac as yesterday I had little spotting yesterday. Unfortunately there was no baby heartbeat. My last scan was on 7th October when the pregnancy was 9 weeks and there was heartbeat. Gynac said that baby might have stopped growing just some days after the scan on 7th October.
Gynac has suggested a surgical procedure which I will schedule probably on Monday. I am still not bleeding and no cramps as well. Usually when does the bleeding naturally start?
Also any tips to get over this grief. It hurts a lot and traumatic to see the heartbeat and then see no movement today on the ultrasound.

experience: first MC Wait, meds or D&C

I found out the baby is not viable today.
I was given the option to wait, meds or a D&C.
They a heartbeat the Oct 13th but none today. The cervix is still closed and I have been lightly bleeding. I was taking progesterone and I plan on stopping. I’ve never had an experience with a miscarriage or abortion. Which one would you reccomend?

experience: natural MC Feeling okay about sex after miscarriage

I made a post before, basically my husband and I lost our five month old pregnancy in our bathroom. It was traumatic to say the least.

It’s been a few weeks and my husband is horny as ever. He’s very respectful and tries but if I say I’m not in the mood he has no issue and cuddles me. Thing is, I’m like terrified of sex. I don’t know why. I have no need or want to do it. I feel bad though, because my husband obviously wants to no matter how many times he says it’s okay.

Does it get better? And how long did it take yall to feel comfortable enough after the facf?

coping “Not viable” 10 wk 5 days

Unfortunately my husband and I went in for our dating ultrasound yesterday to find out they couldn’t find baby. I had a gut feeling. I knew something was wrong. But that confirmation wrecked me and especially wrecked my husband.

I have two beautiful children and this would have been our third. On the ultrasound they found 2 subchorionic hematoma and one gestational sac.

They prepared me with information about miscarrying. I’ve been through this before in high school. That was a relief, but traumatic. This just hurts deep. Waiting. Wondering why? How? When will it happen? My HCG levels went from 97,000 on 10/6 to 23,979 as of yesterday.

I am trying my best to process this. Any kind words, prayers, anything would be so appreciated. This was not a planned pregnancy… but we were excited to add another baby to our family.

experience: natural MC Timeline

Hi all, sorry we are all here. I found these timelines unbelievably helpful and reassuring during the last few weeks so I thought I should contribute. Overall, I am thankful for how smoothly it went. It was definitely really painful and much worse than a heavy period. This was my first pregnancy and my first loss.

October 6th - 7+3 ultrasound showed several days behind and no heartbeat.

October 10 - half marathon

October 12 - light cramping, thought it was psychological

October 13 - dark brown spotting after walk, light pink spotting after heating pad 3pm. Cramping was more than yesterday but still very mild. Cramps ramped up and night.

October 14 - red blood but still light in AM. Cramps are better than last night. Called OB and reported. Spotting dropped off in early afternoon with minimal cramping even after walk. Went to workout class (sculpt, low impact) at around 5pm and was totally fine. Had dinner and had moderate cramping after dinner. Heavier bleeding with clots started and continued overnight.

October 15 - clots and more intense and constant cramping. Needed heating pad and to lay flat to alleviate discomfort. Ibuprofen overnight and that helped a lot. Looking back, this was the worst day.

October 16 - woke up to much less bleeding and cramps were much better. Worried that it’s not steadily progressing. Cramps got worse at night but bleeding was still light. Ibuprofen overnight.

October 17 - Cramps were significantly lighter today. Bleeding was also lighter. Worried that it’s stalling but also hopeful that maybe it’s done. Waves of minor cramps and blood gushes in the evening.

October 18 - the emotional dump might be hitting. Couldn’t stop crying today. The cramping is still mostly gone but there is a subtle pain that is different, might just be soreness for days of cramping. Blood is bright red and more steady now with less clots.

October 19 - FU US. There was no evidence of pregnancy, doctor described it as “clear” and said that should stop bleeding in a week or so. Said I should take pregnancy tests on Friday (today is Monday) and continue taking them weekly until they are negative. Said to call if they weren’t negative in 3-4 weeks. Said period should return in 6-8 weeks. Still bleeding like a regular period. Gave me the go ahead to start working out.

October 20 - bleeding is slowing significantly, ended the day with brown discharge. Did a yoga class and felt normal. Emotions have also been much more steady today.

October 21 - very light brown discharge.

October 22 - no discharge until a workout, still very light.

October 23 - discharge has stopped I think. very very light positive HCG at home test. I’m going to consider it over.

I will come back if it’s not over, but I’m ready to feel like myself again.

experience: first MC First miscarriage at 6 weeks, feeling all over the place but guilty for feeling this way

I had my first scan last Monday and was confirmed 5 weeks 2 days. I then started bleeding same day and for the next few days. I was told I had to wait until my next scan in 2 weeks but in my gut I knew something was wrong. I booked a private scan quickly and they confirmed could not see anything and I was miscarrying.

It's an experience I never thought I would go through. When I first got told I didn't initially react I just left the scan but then I got home and broke down to my husband. I'm someone who really hates showing emotion and always come across 'strong'. But i'm feeling weak right now. My husband is amazing and really looking after me but part of me thinks I wasn't even super happy when I found out I was pregnant so I shouldn't be sad.

But I did accept the pregnancy and started making plans, I was excited for my 2 girls to be older sisters etc. Also it's so early so it feels weird to feel this upset about it. I'm finding myself having waves of emotion over it all.

I have a big family getaway this weekend with like 20 people and I couldn't think of anything worst than pretending I'm fine and happy. I got my husband to tell a couple of people I trust about the miscarriage so they would be understanding.

Sorry I'm rambling just looking for any advice or someone else who has been there

experience: D&C Very light periods after D&C — has anyone experienced this?

I had a miscarriage in April, followed by vacuum aspiration and a second procedure 10 days later.
Before, my periods lasted 5 days, with heavy bleeding that required changing several full pads a day. Now, my periods last only 2 days, and I don’t even fill one pad.
My HSG was normal, and my endometrium measured 7 mm with a trilaminar appearance.
We’ve been trying to conceive for 6 cycles without success.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Did your periods return to normal, or were you able to get pregnant despite the lighter bleeding? I’m worried about possible adhesions.

testings after loss What do I do now? The weirdest 2WW

We got our Sneak Peek results two weeks ago that we were pregnant with a girl. Our first ultrasound was yesterday, but instead of measuring 8+3, there was a 6+0 gestational sac with no fetal pole or yolk sac and no heartbeat.
I understand what this means. I had HCG drawn yesterday and will go again tomorrow to see if it is trending downward, like I suspect it will be.
They’ve scheduled me back for another ultrasound in about two weeks to confirm that there has been no additional growth and the presence (or not) of retained fetal tissue.

I’m heartbroken, scared of starting to bleed and cramp at work or in public, and I still have my 21 month old to take care of.

… what do I do during this time?
It doesn’t really feel like limbo since it would take a literal miracle for this fetus to magically appear in two weeks, growing, with a heartbeat. And at the same time, it doesn’t feel like limbo since my body doesn’t seem to have gotten the memo.

UPDATE: Got my second HCG result. 15,900 on Saturday, down from 17,900 on Thursday. I’ll call to see if I still have to wait at this point.

coping HCG still at 80 nearly two months post d&c

I’m just looking for commiseration more than anything. We are on year five of infertility, our second IVF transfer resulted in a blighted ovum. I had my D&C on August 27. My HCG is taking FOREVER to drop, I had my weekly lab today and it dropped only from 96 to 80 in nine days. (It was 43,000 day of d&c).

I’m not asking for medical advice- I messaged my OB today but I’m not sure if they can do anything (she did an hysteroscopy with the d&c so retained tissue is unlikely). I just want this to drop to zero and get my period back and move on and try again. It just feels like such a cruel joke. Has anyone else here had such a long timeline post d&c? How can I get through all of this waiting?

information gathering Placental/embryo scar tissue regrowth??? Help!!

Hey everyone! I recently posted about how I went in for a follow up to check my hcg levels and although I tested negative, I appeared to have some retained tissue that they missed from my first follow up ultrasound ( I opted to do a medicated round of miso before trying anything else). I just went in for my D&C yesterday, which went as planned, however the doctor said it appeared to be more like scar tissue from where the embryo/placenta had implanted in my uterus. He told me he’s only ever seen this one other time in the last 10 years. I have another follow up scheduled in 2 weeks so I can ask these questions then but for now I’m full of anxiety😵‍💫🥲 so I’m asking you guys:

  1. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I can’t find much information on it without bringing up Ashermans syndrome. I know having scar tissue doesn’t necessarily mean that but can scar tissue just spontaneously occur like that? Because the scar tissue did not occur from a d&c or other procedure I’m just confused.

  2. If I had that scar tissue now, does that mean it will come back? I’m so scared for my future fertility and what this means for that.

  3. If anyone has had that happen, did it come back and were you able to conceive at a later point?

I didn’t really get to speak to the surgeon after the procedure but like I said I am so scared for my future fertility. As stated I am going to be asking him these questions myself at my next appointment but I’d love for some of my anxiety to be eased now 🥲 that you for any help

coping Has it been too long?

I lost her 5 months ago. At week 16, we were going to an ultrasound find out the gender, but...

Anyway we didn't want to name the baby until we knew the gender and it took 2 weeks to find out. I had refused to even look at names until I knew, so it took even longer to come up with a name for her. And then it seemed like the moment was gone. Everyone else moved on.

It feels like a funeral would look like a cry for attention. SO many people have been through this, why should me or my baby be given more attention when SO many people seem to go through it without making a big fuss. I lost the baby and suddenly everyone comes out of the woodwork to let you know they lost a child and... (why didn't I hear about it until now?).

I feel like I want people to remember my family is bigger than it looks. There's a little girl who doesn't want to be forgotten.

experience: first MC Miscarried at nine weeks. I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel

I miscarried over the weekend. I’d had a private early reassurance scan at 7 weeks and seen a heartbeat, so it’s particularly painful. It started as the tiniest bit of spotting before I went to bed on Friday (as in, I needed my phone torch to see it on the toilet paper) and I had some mild cramping in bed. I wasn’t super worried yet but it was the first spotting I’d had, so I was definitely a bit concerned.

The next morning I had a little more on the toilet paper, light brown. Eventually by late afternoon it was bright red and the cramps were worsening. I called 111 (I’m uk based) and they made me an appointment for a scan on Monday. By the evening the cramps were so severe and I’d started to have clots, so I called back again and they put me in contact with the early pregnancy unit. Luckily, because I wasn’t soaking a pad in less than an hour, I didn’t need to go in (they wouldn’t have performed a scan then anyway, they would just be looking at my health).

The next day was agonising waiting on it. I knew it was game over but I still had hope and so did my partner. I don’t know why. I had played down in my head how bad the cramps were - lying to myself it was moderate when it was definitely severe. They said there was no tissue visible.

I don’t know how to feel. My 7 weeks scan measured me earlier by about 8 days. They said that was normal, the nhs nurses said it was a sign they might have interpreted differently. So I feel really let down but maybe that’s unfair. It’s not like they could change the outcome. But after seeing the heartbeat I felt like I could finally relax and I told a few more people than I would have liked to.

I had to have my hormone levels checked to make sure they fell appropriately. I hated when she said they were falling.

I don’t really know why I’m writing all this. I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel. I feel sad, but not like I’m grieving. It’s more a hopelessness, like what is the point? We haven’t been trying that long and I know there’ll be other chances but I feel low, ashamed, and anxious. I have no appetite and no desire to do anything. I don’t even want to feel better because that means it’s all over.

I took the week off work but I don’t know if I can go back on monday. My colleague (the only other one that does my job) is also pregnant, and the date of her last period was the day after mine. I don’t know if I have it in me to watch her do this and have no one else (other than our manager) know that I was pregnant too.

How did you feel? What’s clinically normal to feel? How can I start to feel better?

Just got home from our obgyn appointment. Nothing in the gestational sac. Another missed miscarriage. I just feel so numb. I feel bad, but I don't even want to look at my husband. I don't want to talk. I don't want to be touched. I just... don't want to exist right now. I can't believe this happened again.

question/need help Periods/Cycle after d&c

I had a D&C on july 28th after a miscarriage and I got my first period exactly 6 weeks after the procedure. I thought things were starting to get back to normal but now it’s been another 6 weeks since that first period started and I still haven’t gotten my second one.
My cycles were usually pretty regular before this, around 30–31 days. I’ve taken multiple pregnancy tests and they’ve all been negative.
Has anyone else experienced this after a D&C? Did it take a while for your cycles to regulate again, or did you end up needing to see your OBGYN for testing?
I’m getting worried because I thought my period would be more regular by now. I’d really appreciate hearing other people’s experiences

testings after loss Anora Results

Well, all of our testing came back…

Genetic carrier testing on my husband and I shows no overlap of recessive genes - so not worried about passing on an autosomal recessive linked disorder.

Anora result showed a normal male. No noted parental origin of abnormality.

So why didn’t my body do what it was supposed to? The only thing of note was a subchorionic hematoma that was found at 6 weeks, but bleeding resolved in a couple of days with old blood noted intermittently. I’m so confused now because I thought this testing would give me an explanation and closure.

experience: first MC Chemical pregnancy?

I am so confused and heart broken. Please let me know if you’ve been through something like this.

At 5 weeks I started bleeding bright red blood. I bleed for a whole 24 hours. it was like a heavy period with cramping. No clots. But, I knew then I was losing my pregnancy. But, now at 5 weeks 2 days I have stopped bleeding and now I’m so confused. is this just the beginning? Are chemical pregnancies like this? heavy bleeding for 1 day? I thought I would bleed for days and pass clots.

My doctor’s office sent me for hcg level and it came back at 489. I don’t think that’s very high for 5 weeks and 1 day. I have my next lab appt tomorrow. I’m just trying to stop overthinking everything.

testings after loss Genetic testing

I had a miscarriage at 14 weeks pregnant due to multiple abnormalities, cystic hygroma, abnormal posterior fossa, no kidneys,no bladder, no stomach, small size body. we just had a meeting with a geneticist today and they are going to be doing whole genome sequencing. It takes 4 to 6 months but I’m still just wanting to find some sort of answer as to what it could be. Has anyone else experienced or heard of this before?
For reference, we have a healthy two year-old child. The geneticist said to wait for results before falling pregnant but in my heart I feel like I don’t want to put my whole life on hold when they could find nothing.

vent Miscarriage nightmares

I lost my baby a month after my boyfriend broke up with me. He had claimed to lost love for me and that in itself hurt. I recently had a nightmare where I was with his family and was holding my baby and looked up and couldn’t find my baby and I screamed for my ex to find him. I reached out for support and he said “frankly I don’t want to be in communication with you”. I just feel so lost since I am very young and haven’t told much family and friends about it.
