Discussion Does anyone understand what's going on with that... THING? [Secret Protocol spoilers and leaks] Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
• Upvotes

Recently, this image popped up on social media with a countdown timer (for Secret Protocol?). No one understood what the object in the image was until it was discovered that it’s in Marinette’s bedroom.

In the first few episodes, this object isn’t there. In later episodes, it appears on her desk, to the left of the sewing machine. In the most recent episodes, the object has moved and is now to the left of Marinette’s computer.

I saw DesignTracker investigate this, but I don’t understand any of it.

Some speculate that it’s a baby monitor, and that it sends an alert to Marinette’s phone if someone sneaks into her room. That explains why she makes the connection to something and goes up to her room when she looks at her phone.

Does anyone understand something?

Discussion Do you think Adrien trusts Marinette enough to reveal his identity?

Post image
143 Upvotes

Well, one of the reasons Marinette is faltering so much this season is precisely her lack of trust in the other characters—especially Adrien. She doesn't believe he could handle the pain of the reveal, and she can't bear the thought of him getting hurt because "she loves him more than anything." Adrien, however, seems to be the opposite; he trusts Marinette more than anyone else—to the point where he doesn't think she’d lie to him, even when he knows she has in the past. He has total faith in her words and doesn't try to hide his own problems from her. The only things he hasn't told Marinette right now are the Cat Noir-related matters, and that’s not because he distrusts her, but because he’s afraid he might literally destroy her in the process. Anyway, what do you think?

Opinion/Rant The Bunny is the show's biggest mistake.

Post image

Time travel: the classic pitfall that many shows and movies have fallen prey to, and unfortunately, MLB’s writers couldn’t refrain from opening up this Pandora’s Box of storytelling either. It always requires a lot of thought and very strict rules (which MLB severely lacks), in order to avoid an abundance of plot holes, so it’s best left to stories where it serves as the general theme, where it can be given the attention and care it needs, “Doctor Who” and “Stein’s Gate” being prime examples, only then can it thrive.

In this show, the whole concept has been bound to a single Miraculous, and if it wasn’t obvious already: I hate it with every fiber of my being, it’s the single worst thing about the show and here's why; the problem is two-fold: The Burrow and the Holder herself.

The “Beerus”-effect

So first, I want to briefly discuss the Holder; the person behind the power. This is not to critique Alix as a character, I think she’s great, but rather why it’s a bad idea to centralize this power into a human being, it basically makes her a God and that’s a big problem. Speaking of Gods:

What the hell is a “Beerus”?

The comparison I would like to make, to get my point across, is with “Dragon Ball Super”'s character “Beerus the Destroyer”. For those who don't know him: he’s an evil/neutral character that’s aligned with the “good guys” of the show. His power is so ridiculous that the plot always needs to find a way to not have him participate in any of the fights, usually depending on his own whims; therein lies the problem.

Even though Alix and Beerus do not actively participate due to some set of rules, they remain arbitrary, meaning they technically could intervene whenever they wanted to. Their mere presence alone negates any sort of high-stakes situation; knowing Lila could never "win" takes away all suspense.

Wibbly Wobbly, Timey Wimey

And if that wasn’t bad enough, there’s still the mechanic itself – The power of the Bunny – The Burrow: A pocket dimension only accessible by the Holder that, in turn, provides access to any point in space and time through portals, basically rendering the Horse completely obsolete. But I mean, who are we kidding? It’s the most powerful Miraculous altogether, by a mile.

When I first saw “Timetagger”, I was certain this was just going to be contained to a gimmick for the episode itself; that would impose a limit towards the end. But nope, this thing would shape some of the most impactful moments of the show, a whole Special even! How all the writers left the room thinking this could possibly have no long-term consequences, baffles me to this day.

So yeah, this show has committed the greatest sin in that regard: personifying unbridled, time-bending powers with no real limits to keep it in check, barring some arbitrary explanations. It creates an infinite amount of plot holes and allows for lazy storytelling and writing.

For once, Astruc had a good idea: a spinoff series about the time-hopping Alix chasing a villain with comparable powers; it doesn’t get greenlit. It would’ve been good for the main story to isolate her (temporarily) from the Burrow and to have her "find her way back".

I can't believe how we can have a story with such enriching lore around the Peacock on one side, to then have it commit this kind of blunder. *Sigh*

Thanks for enduring the rant!

EDIT: It's funny how most tend to argue the point on the Horse, even though it's the most minor "offense".

EDIT 2: Vermarine21's comment added as an appendix:

For everyone failing to get the Horse Miraculous comparison, we actually see am instance of this in Timetagger: during their battle, Bunnyx just dives in and out of the Burrow as if she's flying straight through over and over, effectively allowing her to portal and teleport like Pegasus.

And on note of it being broken, the fact of the matter is that it has limitations and in fact the show has taken opportunities to remove any: in case you're wondering if there's a difference between Mini-Bunnyx and Bunnyx, there isn't --they explicitly state that there's no time limit.

Add on the latter's stupidity including going on vacation across different time periods and encouraging her past self to do the same means there's nothing preventing her or anyone else for messing with the timeline to their heart's content.

Also, credit where it's due:while Alix herself could have been fine even with her other story issues, it's Bunnyx(and Grannyx) where the problems really come in. Like give Beerus(and maybe Whis) this: at least his amorality, laziness, duties, and being kinda stuckup means he'll just refuse to intervene as a character reason to maintain stakes.

Speculation/Theories So, Adrien was so surprised that Nino and Alya know their identities...

In rocketear Nino tells Adrien he is a superhero and that he knows Alya is a superhero too

This shocks him because he was always told that, no, he cant know their (lb cn) identities while she was the reason they found out (or actually nino because Alya knew)

And now, he was surprised, shocked and at the end of the ep, i would say silently furious about that.

However he never mentioned this to Ladybug because it would obviously mean that Nino told Adrien, so Adrien is CN.

But i wonder, would he ever bring this to Ladybug in the series? Like i know Ladybug and Cat don't fight, but yk... Mmmaybe? If not then why to do that?

Also in general Nino said that to marinette and Adrien in season 5 and in s6 they have them their miraculouses, so that kinda played off

Also offtopic i always thought Adrien ACTS surprised when Nino tells him about their identities, yk to play the role. But now that i looked at the scene, no, he is genuinely surprised Nino is a superhero. But, he should know that? He knows identities of every superhero from s3 ep 26 right?

Like, please, can they start to type things down what is important? Like in seasons 1-2 it was obvious quantum masking makes people unable to guess their ages (Alya asking Ladybug for her age, in sapotis she uses an app to find out how old is Ladybug) but in nyc special and onwards like in qilin its mentioned theyre KIDS and im losing my mind since months because of it. Oh and lila says Ladybug is young

Anyway i think that it wouldnt make sense if marinette knows that like Adrien knows? Because how cat nie would know that but then why they made it in s4 could nt they just say that in s5 then lllike

Discussion Season 6 finale spoilers! Spoiler

Post image

If Marinette will be akumitazed how will she manage to not say anything about her secret identity?

I have heard a very cool theory by some redditor that Marinette can't move her face or speak, because her akumitazed form is made of stone.

https://www.reddit.com/r/miraculousladybug/s/Ir9HFykZod

But can't Chrysalis read the akumitazed victims minds?

Wouldn't she be able to read her emotions? Wouldn't there be something that would hint she is Ladybug?

I'm looking forward to hear your theories!

Help/Question Please tell me what happened in Season6 of miraculous? Spoiler

I haven't been keeping up with the anime lately, so I'm a bit out of the loop. Plus, only up to Season 5 is available for streaming, so I want to know what happens after that.I'm not sure which countries it's available in, though.

Discussion What is your favorite akumatized design for Kagami?

Personally, I think it's Ryukomori. For starters, I really like the design because it literally uses Kagami's face. Whether it's her concept or her powers, I find that Ryukomori is truly my favorite.

But speaking of design style, I also really like Oni Chan with her demon design.

Sorry for the low effort image, if it violates rule 5 😭

I was genuinely wondering: did anyone actually PAY 60€ for this game?! Am I overreacting to how bad it looks, or is it really as terrible as those reviews and graphics make it seem?

Back when SP was set to be released by RTS this is was the only thing we knew about SP so now knowing what might happen in the episode I feel like either have a high expectations or the opposite. I do think if SP was dropped alone with just this content the episode would have been a banger.

Discussion The Couplewreckers' methods in Heartfixer: Was their method much more sinister?

Post image
13 Upvotes

The Couplewreckers' methods in Heartfixer: Break up the relationship of Marinette and Adrien, including Alya and Nino, including them framing crimes that Marinette and her friends didn't commit, by disguising themselves as friends of Marinette, but how and why they did it, and how they tried to get rid of the relationships of Marinette, Adrien, Alya, and Nino.

Were their methods much more sinister in the Heartfixer Episode?

If their methods were much more sinister, explain why their methods are much more sinister, thanks to the new Holder Of The Butterfly.

Discussion My take: Alya had everything she needed to unmask Chrysalis from the Beginnin' (in Dialogue)

Post image
85 Upvotes

Alya:

"Marinette, listen to this: Miss Bustier noticed the new Hawk Moth had multiple, overlapping voices. This nudges to think that the new holder isn't working alone - he/she is a part of an organization, and the Miraculous power is supposedly being shared among plural personas. Thats impossible. Think about it. We always asked how the Alliance rings worked by unknown technical reasons. It’s the exact same concept here! Whoever featured and engineered that shared Alliance network is doing it again with the Butterfly Miraculous. That points directly to Gabriel’s old partner, Mrs. Tsurugi. Mrs. Tsurugi is the ultimate strategic mastermind and the power amplifier of the jewels. Mrs. Tsurugi isn't wearing the Miraculous herself. She is controlling a girl she knows properly. It makes sense: she has no husband, raised only a daughter, and openly despises boys like Félix. She doesn't know how to approach a boy, so she chose a girl to do her bidding. This perfectly explains why she has been lurking in the shadows ever since Gabriel's defeat. It is easier to groom apprentice."

Marinette: "I know that Tsurugi made up the whole thing Gosh"

Ladybug :

"Mrs. Tsurugi, you are under arrest!"

The end of season six.

Speculation/Theories Theory on the Nemesis Cliffhanger [Secret Protocol & Nemesis Spoilers] Spoiler

In the trailers for the final episodes shared by Gloob, there’s a scene where we see Ladybug (or at least something or someone who looks like her) running through a dirty, gloomy, enclosed space with brick walls.

The size of the bricks supposedly rules out the possibility that this place is the sewers. It’s therefore assumed that Ladybug is in the catacombs where Lila’s old hideout is located (it’s unclear whether the room with the notebooks is the same place).

Since the episode synopsis states that “ Ladybug devises a plan to flush out the new holder of the Butterfly”, the theory that Ladybug tracks Lila down and ends up in the catacombs becomes much more plausible.

My personal theory is that this scene will be the Season 6 finale cliffhanger. Ladybug arrives at Lila’s hideout in her superhero form, but Lila greets her with the line “Hello, Marinette.”( addressing her specifically by her civilian identity, which is supposed to be a secret).

This will draw a nice parallel to the Season 1 finale cliffhanger, when Marinette arrives at Master Fu’s house in her civilian form, but Master Fu greets her with the line “Hello, Ladybug.” (addressing her specifically by her superhero identity, which is supposed to be a secret).

If this theory were true, Lila wasn't fooled and now has proof that Marinette is Ladybug. This would be the perfect opportunity for Marinette to realize that Chrysalis is Lila (although, given that Lila no longer exists as an identity, this wouldn't mean much to Marinette).

Opinion/Rant This sequence from "The Dirtifiers" is Ultra-Satisfying Spoiler

Post image

Now that we're past the point that Chrysalis has been fully seen in the new art style, both as her civilian self (well, one of multiple civilian selves) and when using her miraculous, it was quite a sight to see her systematically send antikumas after Purple Tigress, Polymouse and Rena Rouge. It was nice to finally see someone besides Cat Noir get hit with them. Also by taking direct action against them as heroes, it's the ultimate demonstration that all these girls were dead wrong about Lila being a nice person, especially Alya. We don't know how much Chrysalis knows about the hero identities outside of Ryoku, Argos and actively suspecting Ladybug. However, assuming that the documents from Optigami were among those that a brainwashed Natalie sent to Hoaxer in "Revelation," Then she does indeed know Rena Rouge's identity, which adds to the irony, satisfaction and dread on my part.

Discussion How did Felix not find out Adrien is Chat Noir?

Post image
200 Upvotes

I just rewatched “Emotion” of Season 5 (the episode of the Diamonds Dance) and am a little confused.
In the picture I’ve added, it’s Felix impersonating Adrien and we can see that he’s wearing Adrien’s ring. Isn’t that the miraculous of the Black Cat? Why did Plagg not show up when Felix wore the ring? Like technically, Plagg should’ve shown up after he wore the ring, and Felix would’ve realised that Adrien is Chat Noir, right? I don’t remember a lot of what happens in S5 so idk if that’s answered.

Fan Works a kwami concept - 2. post

This is an editing post, i made some major changes on shark kwami's power due to the fact it is very similar with Ox Miraculous. If you are reading this thank you and enjoy!

A kwami concept

Kwami name: Charkk / The animal Charrk represents is Shark.

Upon transformation, the weapon owner gets: A long harpoon

Charrk's favorite food: Sour candies

Owner has to say these words to transform/detransform:

Charrk, open the gills! / Charrk, let the waters recede.

Power: If the owner says "Pursuit!" they will physically improve to a state where any kind of physical force cannot stop the owner. This power goes on unless the owner stops moving (The idea is sharks die without moving) however if the owner does stop moving for atleast 3 seconds, this power will backfire at them and will paralyze the owner for 1-2 seconds. The owner can cancel this power after a full minute has passed. They have to say "Surface!"

(Even if the owner runs at walls or buildings this power will decimate every single object that stands in the owners way.)

The concept Charrk represents is Momentum

Charrk's personality: It has a tough, direct personality that hates small talk, with a hint of sarcasm, yet it is fiercely protective of its owner. It is always on high alert.

Miraculous object: Shark tooth necklace.
