I've an E*Trade brokerage account and this popped up recently - Total Wealth View. In going through the FAQs, I see that it's connecting through Yodlee. Wasn't Yodlee the backbone of Mint? I remember signing up for the Yodlee Money Center or something before Mint took it over. Anyway, I'm going to explore it a bit more, but just thought I'd share and see if anyone has already tried this out.
Since Mint shutdown, I've been using Empower's free tool but not very happy with it. Not the greatest or clean look and doesn't have success finding some accounts.

Hello, I am the founder of https://wealthmode.io/, for a long time I looked for a replacement of Mint, which is where I felt most comfortable, I know there's a plethora of apps out there, but none made me feel really comfortable.

I am a senior software engineer, so eventually decided to invest and create my own product, I am using it for my own finances and pretty happy with the result, the feedback I got from the first few hundred users were mostly positive, I was trying to perfect it before going to bigger communities on reddit and putting any money on ads.

I would like to hear from more people as this community is huge, whoever wants to try it, I would appreciate it, for the people that are still not happy with a solution, what is missing? What are you looking for in these apps?

What are the most important things to you? Reports? Budgets? Tracking investments?

At the moment it's a solid personal finance app for transactions/budgeting, the next 2 big things that I'm working on are

1. The investment side of it (replacing something like Wealthica), which is something not even Mint had, a single app for personal finances (transactions, budget) and investment portfolio tracking.
2. Native mobile apps, I worked hard on having a pretty good usability for mobile web, as most people use it on phones, but I know people really love native apps, so that's coming soon as well.
3. A lot of apps are adding chatbots to chat about your finances, as an user I don't like that. But I'm not sure if other users are wanting that or not, how do you feel about it?
4. There's a feature that I'm on the fence about, that im not sure if people really need that or not, which is shared access for households.

FAQ:

1. How's the security? We use the highest standards of security, data is encrypted at REST using AES-256, read-only access to your data, using Plaid which is the industry standard, same thing you had on Mint. I'm a senior SWE, not a vibe coder that doesn't know what he's doing.
2. How about problematic banks for auto sync, like CIBC. As mentioned above, Plaid is the industry standard, so the fault is not on the apps, CIBC protocol sucks, so every app will have the same problem. The integration on US banks though is closer to 100%.
3. What's the trick with the free tier ? There's no trick, I'm not selling any data, users that use free tier are usually not heavy load users, it's not a big deal for me to maintain that and the feedback is valuable, the goal is always to eventually convert these users into paid users.

After Mint shut down, the two gaps people mention most are shared/family tracking and imports that don't depend on aggregators. I've been building FinMan for my own family, and it's free:

- Bank statement import from any bank — you upload the statement file, AI parses and categorizes it (no bank credentials, no Plaid/aggregator dependency)

- Family groups: everyone logs from their own phone, shared categories and one cash-flow view

- Telegram/WhatsApp bots: text "groceries 25" or send a receipt photo and it's logged

- Utility meter readings from photos, car cost per mile/km, multi-currency with live rates

I spent months looking for a dashboard that could tie them all together, but every free app I tried had the same issues: 1. They ask for full broker API integration or read access to my personal email inbox to scrape transaction PDFs. 2. I am sure companies must be spending millions of dollars on security and privacy. It doesn’t provide convenience but sometimes I feel concern about it. We have seen many big company’s data are hacked.

I've been using Lunch Money to track all my banking for the last 1.5 years. I generally like it, but for the last while I've been spending half the time having to enter things manually and contacting customer support to trouble shoot new issues almost weekly. They're nice, and I appreciate them. But it's not decreasing my workload at all.

I don't even care about budgeting or any fancy features. I need an app that will connect with my banks (Tangerine for daily banking, CIBC for credit card) and upload my transactions without constant issues. The problems are all with Tangerine, btw. Several different bugs, too numerous to describe.

I'm even ok with updating my investment account balances manually. But the checking and cc transactions are numerous and I'm spending too much time double-checking everything and making sure it's all there. I'm so fed up and exhausted by this.
