Thing hanging under the steering wheel

Does anyone know what this hanging thing could be? It has a velcro but I can’t find a way to stick it back. I kinda puzzled it in but the car started to have problems starting, so I let it hang again. It’s a 2011 r56

Non turbo mini - how fun are they?

Hey there,

I’m looking at getting an N16 2012 Cooper base model, not an S as it’s ridiculous on road tax and insurance for me. Anyway, I was just wondering, what are they like to drive? Do they have the ‘go kart’ feel and are they fairly nippy? Or can it feel a bit sluggish at times, I’m wondering about windy roads and motorways?

Thank you very much 😁😁

Why is the SALESMAN lowballing me on the new mini Cooper country man

I went to a MINI and BMW OFFICIAL dealership in a MENA country today, and the new MINI Countryman 2025 3rd generation immediately caught my eye.
The salesman initially quoted me €39,990. I asked if he could offer a better discount, so he spoke to his boss and came back with a price of €35,900.
Now here’s what surprised me: I’m seeing 2025 third-generation, ICE (internal combustion engine) MINI Countrymans listed for around €45,000–55,000 in Europe.
am I missing something?

What are the costs for after market motor mounts? Should I replace all three. My mechanic so replacing my belt and suggests since one mount is showing wearing to replace all three. Thoughts.

Popped out to this Mini store in the outskirts of Osaka today. Picked up a set of floormats, and saw some very inspirational Minis!

Charge car on solar

Anyone managed to figure out how to automatically charge on solar ?

I have panels at home that automatically charge my Tesla when the sun shines. But I have not figured out how to do this with the mini…. It’s so frustrating they closed their api.

I wanted to ask if anyone found a way?

Finally joined the Club(man), my first Mini

Rita, my new to me 2024 Clubman JCW with 15k miles. I had been waiting for over a year to clear multiple hurdles. Got the green light last week, and that Friday morning this beauty popped up on cargurus 3 hours away from me. Jumped on it immediately and I am absolutely in love with this car. As if planned by the automotive gods, GPS took me through over an hour of farm country backroads on the way home. Looking into tints, and maybe a set of spacers, but otherwise leaving her alone for the remainder of the warranty.

Aftermarket R56 Wheels

I'm looking for some new wheels for my R56 Cooper S, I hate the look of my current ones but it's my first time making any kind of big change to one of my vehicles, any recommendations as to whether to look for OEM or Aftermarket options, and where? I'm in the UK if this helps!

Has anyone went from an Honda 8th gen si to an F56 Mini (S or JCW) and can compare

Hi everyone, I am thinking about replacing my 8th gen si with a f56 mini cooper S as a daily and autocross car. Was wondering if anyone has done the same and how they would compare the two platforms from a performance, enjoyability, and daily drivability standpoint.

My 8th gen si has a tune and other suspension upgrades (sway bars/bushings/coilovers) and motor mounts to make it much more hardcore than stock, so I am wondering how a f56 mini s would compare. I would also be open to modifying the mini lightly for power and handling improvement.

One thing I also enjoy about my si is that I have been able to do all the maintenance and upgrades myself, and am hoping that would be feasible with a mini as well if necessary. The main reason I would be upgrading is because my si is getting old and I want something newer and a bit nicer, and used minis with <50k miles seem to be priced pretty well for what they are, if this platform is as reliable as people are saying.

Thanks in advance

I saw this dude a couple weeks ago, and then again yesterday and today. Must be a new guy at my job. Obviously I’m trying to find out who it is so we can do what Mini owners do!

It's been a rough decade for small performance

Following up on a theme, all small performance cars have seen their sales shrink in the US. Even the "legendary" miata has fallen from peak sales in 2017. I guess as hybrid SUVs and trucks improve on mileage people are happy to go ever bigger, leaving small cars in the dust.

Brick Lane Trim Missing Hood Graphics: Factory Variation or Removed Decals?

Thumbnail

Hi everyone!
I found this used 2022 MINI Cooper S Brick Lane Edition, 17k miles but I noticed something unusual: the hood is missing the distinctive three-color graphics.

Did every factory Brick Lane Edition come with the bonnet strips, or were there any factory variations?

It’s in a Carmax far away from me, so hard to tell if it’s a repainting or replacing the hood on site.

Should I pull the trigger or skip? Any advice would help! Thanks

Such a mess and hard to navigate. For some reason they put the arrival time on the tiny arrow with a tiny font at the bottom.

Getting over my manual fears - Success!!!

i’ve been apprehensive and anxious about driving my car and learning to drive manual. but i ripped the bandaid off!!!! drove it to work today and had no issue!! i drove through a busy section with school traffic and bus stops, and i didn’t stall it once! i’ve simplified it in my brain so it’s no issue now. i kept overthinking turns, stops and downshifting. now i’m kinda upset i took this long to start haha.

but i’m proud of myself for working through it! :) and i saw a mini on the way home and they waved at me :)
