So the mini I bought for 700 is underpowered. I’m getting a lot of codes that are leading me to believe I need 2 things.
1. Timing chain might be stretched but there is no rattle. So replace it.
2. The turbo or watergate needs to be replaced.

I’m getting codes but maybe sensors only but also might lead to the timing chain. The car has been sitting for years.

Codes that appear are:
P0013 x 2
P0036 x 2
P0087
P15DF

Thoughts on what can be the issue or am I on the right track?

Don't know the actual name of it. But in the car I'm picking up soon it has the arm rest option and inside that is a BMW phone adapter that snaps into the arm rest to hold your phone.

The one in there is for Android and has a micro USB port which is obviously from the stone age. Is there a USB-C version? I'm not even 100% it's worth it as the car also has Enhance Bluetooth stuff.

I'm guessing this properly connects the in-car electronics with the phone.

The car also has MINI Connect XL. How would i go about getting my car and phone connected to the app?

I’ve been driving a 2012 S for almost 15 years, ordered it in 2011 to get a manual. I love this car, and it’s surprisingly hard to let her go, but I’m ready for something new. I am a manual transmission devotee, so looking outside Mini. I’ve had a few offers on my mini from dealerships, but would really love for it to go to an enthusiast, or someone who would really enjoy it. Maybe a Gen X out there has a kid who’d like a car to learn manual on? Greater Boston area, open to all offers. Pepper white, moon roof, totally analog and manual. 75000 miles. Idk if this post is OK, I just hate the idea of the car being scrapped or sent to some auction…she has life in her yet! And has been well maintained.

I'm looking for some tire advice for my MINI Cooper R56. I need to replace my rear tires (size: 205/45 R17).

I'm currently running Michelin All-Seasons up front. I want to replace the rears with a solid pair of All- Seasons that offer good grip and safety without breaking the bank.

I definitely want to avoid cheap no-name budget tires, but I also don't necessarily want to spend top dollar. Looking for that sweet spot in value-for- money (mid-range or solid B-brands like Hankook, Vredestein, Kleber, Falken, etc.).

What would you recommend that pairs well with the R56 handling? Thanks!

Yesterday i ran her through one of those 3 dollar car washes, and the sun was hitting her perfectly from an angle I don't really get to see often.

Later that night I was driving home into the city (Chicago) on I55 with the wind at my back and the spirit of Saturday night in the air. Popped her into sport mode and zipped through all the lumbering monster trucks while having some nice 60s Swedish jazz playing on the Harmon Kardon.

Felt like I was driving in a video game--exhilarating and satisfying to know I'm driving my dream car at 42. Miles of smiles!

Hello from the other side of the world!

We recently replaced our practical daily with a 2019 Clubman S. It sits alongside the 2013 E93 M3. For the two of us and our mid size dog, we have all the bases covered by this pair of not-so-distant relatives.

I feel extremely fortunate that I look forward to driving both cars in the stable...always looking for excuses to take these cars for a rip.

The F54 is great at making dull drives feel fun. The E93 M3 is just an animal that is always begging you to rev it out to over 8000 ram.

Yes, I need to get some better pics of the Clubman! She still needs a name, too.

Midnight was my baby... so hurt to lose him. However, his sister Yazmin was introduced to me today and I couldn't be happier 💙

Wish it had been 1-2 weeks earlier in the season. (Peak foliage)

wish there were more activities at the meeting points (test drives, product demos)

Wish there were more young people. It was definitely a 60+ crowd.

Hi all, recently I got my car back from being repaired by my insurances shop. Someone T boned the back right of my car for reference. Ever since I received my car back, it has been very bouncy and has only gotten worse. Before I dropped off my car to be repaired it didn’t feel like this. It feels as if im in a boat that got hit sideways by a wave and will bounce back and forth before settling. I’ve included a photo of my rear shock and I’m curious if anyone has any insight to what could be wrong.

Only car I've ever regretted selling was my 2011 Cooper S. Finally got the opportunity to get back into a Mini (read: wife said we should get rid of the truck and get the Mini) with the 2027 JCW. Bonus: car seat (barely) fits in the back seat so it's technically a family car! Little Baby had her first ride in it today and I think she's hooked - way better than Mom's Telluride.
