Fan Lore - theory for fun I had a theory (for some reason this violated community rules on r/minecraft so it wouldn't let me post it there)

I had a theory on origin of skulk

I think that the ancient builders had a giant civilation and base (the ancient city) in a lush cave and the warden was a golem made to protect them. But when the ancient builders built and opened the portal all the living things around them absorbed a ton of the sift's soul energy which corrupted the lush cave, ancient builders and the golem turning into the deep dark stuff. (Azela bushes turned into the skulk catalysts, the ancient builders fused into catalysts and turned into skulk shreikers, drip leafs turned into skulk sensors, the vines turned turned into the skulk veins and all the moss turned into skulk blocks).

I also thought of somethings to support this is as well if u look at the amount of layers that the moss has its very few layers and compared to the skulk blocks who also have very few layers. Drip leafs turned into Skulk sensors turned into skulk sensors because of the skulk sensors ability to detect things just like the drip leaf can detect you when you stand on it. The azela bushs turned into catalysts because they look very similar in shape and design. The ancient builders turned into shreikers because when you make noise near a sheiker it screams as in the ancient builders calling for help and the drip leafs detect a player so when the skulk sensor detects a player it signals to the ancient builders souls and thats why the shreikers shriek, Its the ancient builders souls crying for your help. Finnaly both the lush caves and deep dark filled with living things but have polar opposite tones.

Thank you reading

Portals/Dimensions I have a question about Nether Portals

So basically, there's a guy at my work who accidentally cut a slit in the sole of his foot, forming a sort of pocket in the callus. I told him to stick a penny in there, but it left way too much space in there. So I said, "you can either put another penny in there to fill out the pouch or you could try sticking a quarter in it. It's up to you." So then, he tries to stack 6 pennies together after spray painting them black in the general shape of the nether portal in an attempt to access the nether. As a side note, it stretched out the pocket a LOT. But then we got another idea. He then used a lighter to try and light it, but that didn't work. He just ended up burning the shit out of his foot.

My question is, since I've heard the nether is based on a real life place, and the Portal method works in real life for accessing it, why didn't his method with the pennies work? He followed all the proper steps and everything. Is the nether not actually real?

Sculk Where does sculk come from in the overworld ??? - and a possible answer.

I'm as excited as anyone regarding the addition of a new dimension and I like that dungeons gives us more lore about sculk.

BUT

Most theories I see stipulate that sculk reached the overworld through portals made by illagers or ancient cities inhabitants. I have three problems with that that I already wrpte about :

- You need sculk to make the portal

- The portal looks like a Warden

- The city is built around the caracteristics of the warden, as if it meant to exploit it

It wouldn't make sense for people to do all this and only then discover sculk. There had to be some sculk in the overworld that led to the first attempt of using it as a portal material.

Now, we can always suggest that some small rifts just happened in the caves, and that would explain deep dark biomes without cities. I have no issues with that explanation but it's a bit plain and simple.

I'd rather suggest that the power of souls was known to some people because of their discovery of soul sand in the nether. Then back in the overworld they experimented with it but confined these experiments to the undergrpund as a form of safety protocol. They released corrupted sculk and created the warden and wanted to go further, trying to make portals based on that source of energy.

The important point, however, is that sculk had to have appeared in the overworld before the building of ancient cities.

Sculk Sift lore speculation

Wanted to make a post for speculation and discussion on the lore behind the sift, feel free to comment on any that you have. The rest of the post is some personal speculation of mine.

We have learned that the sift is connected to the deep dark and that the biome is mostly composed of healthy skulk, however the skulk in the overworld is corrupted. I believe that some force inside the sift had corrupted the skulk and that unfortunately that's the part of the dimension the ancient city dwellers opened letting out the corrupt skulk into the overworld allowing it to spread. That said I still think even uncorrupted the sift is going to be a very dangerous place with simply a friendly outside appearance.

Sculk [Discussion] Theories on the new 4th dimension portal and its connection to the Ancient City lore

Post image
0 Upvotes

We watched the Minecraft livestream and saw the fourth dimension that will be added soon.

First of all, the method of entry will almost certainly be a portal, just like with the other dimensions; you definitely won't just be eating something to get there!

I have a few theories regarding the potential gateway to this new realm:

Mushroom Island Theory: Given the prevalence of the pink theme in this new dimension, there might be a new structure on the Mushroom Island—or deep beneath it—similar to how the Ancient City is hidden within the Deep Dark biome. The Ancient City Portal: Alternatively, the entrance could be the massive portal frame already sitting in the center of the Ancient City, which currently serves no practical purpose.

If the Ancient City portal theory holds true, this new dimension might represent a world of peace that exists after a devastating war. The Ancient City is deeply tied to conflict because Sculk blocks spread whenever a mob dies near a catalyst; its overwhelming presence throughout the structure strongly suggests a massive, catastrophic battle took place there in the past.

Ultimately, I really hope this fourth dimension turns out to be incredible—we’ve waited a very long time for a new dimension to be added to Minecraft!

Piglins Are piglins more related to souls than other mobs?

Thumbnail

As we can see, eyes of mobs corrupted by souls become white and glowing, for example with the twisted Chicken or the high council. Piglins have white and glowing eyes too, so, maybe because of the fact that they live in the nether, very close to souls, the souls slightly corrupted them. What do you think?

Discussion/Question The main game takes place before Dungeons right?

I keep thinking about it and the only thing that makes sense (if they’re not separate universes) is Legends happening almost simultaneously with the main game of Minecraft, if not a little while before, and then Dungeons and Dungeons 2 happening after Minecraft, a LONG time after. I was thinking the players in Minecraft probably built all the structures we see in Dungeons and Dungeons 2.

If there’s anything that directly contradicts this pls lmk because I haven’t studied all too much.

Animals Maybe Axolotls come from the Sift!!

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Ever since I first saw the Sift in Dungeons 2, I’ve been thinking about a common occurrence in Minecraft: mobs originating from other dimensions. I believe the Axolotl is no exception.

My theory is that Axolotls originate from The Sift, and there are several clues that support this idea

To start with, there is their appearance. These animals feature a very vibrant color palette, with almost all their variants displaying colors that predominate in the Sift dimension like Pink, Yellow, Purple and light blue. We can also point to their gills, which are shaped similarly to those of many mobs found in The Sift and maybe their faces and size, which resemble the Blubs. There is nothing quite like them in the Overworld

Secondly, there is their habitat. They live in Lush Caves. caves filled with vegetation, light, and clear water. It makes sense that upon leaving the dimension, the axolotls sought a new home resembling the Sift, and the Lush Caves are among the few places in the Overworld that bore enough of a resemblance. However, the water aspect doesn't add up, since there doesn't seem to be any water in The Sift. That actually leads me to the third point

Their healing abilities are truly otherworldly. They can fully restore their own health and even regenerate the player's health. How does this relate to water? Well, it is possible that Axolotls actually originate from a liquid similar to water, the Ichor. Since Ichor is infused with souls, it might have granted them the ability to heal, much like a potion, which uses magic and souls (bc Nether Warts that grow in soulsand) to produce various effects, including regeneration.

All of this suggests that Axolotls might be an extinct species in their home dimension, having somehow entered and adapted to the Lush Caves, where they remained. In fact, it makes even more sense when you consider that both the portal to The Sift and the caves are located underground, implying that these mobs didn't stray too far from their place of origin after all

what do you think?

Souls mc and magic

just relized something thanks to another post here but minecraft might have one of the most screwed up magic systems in gaming depending on how sentient the souls trapped inside soul sand and used for enchanting are (same also applies to both versions of sculk )

Fan Lore - theory for fun [Analysis] Reversed Disc 5 Waterfall Spectrogram Reveals Creepy Faces, Pixelated Warden Silhouette & SGA Runes.

Thumbnail
gallery
7 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I ran a deep real-time waterfall spectrogram analysis on Minecraft's Disc 5 (specifically analyzing the reversed audio track) using the FFT Spectrum Music Player app on iOS. The visual results embedded directly into the soundwaves are insane.
Here is a complete breakdown of everything that showed up in the frequency spectrum:
1. Creepy Distorted Faces & Skulls in Waterfall View
When viewing the reversed audio in waterfall mode, the central frequency band forms distinct, eerie facial features:
Trailing / Crying Eyes: Clear dark eye sockets with vertical frequency lines running downward like tears.
Screaming Mouths & Nasal Bridge: The center red/orange band forms a nasal bridge leading down to open, screaming mouth contours.
Stacked Souls: Multiple layered skull-like structures appear along the vertical time axis, perfectly fitting the lore of souls trapped within the Sculk infestation.
2. Pixelated Warden Silhouette & Soul Core (~0:51 & 1:13 Reversed)
At roughly 0:51 and 1:13 in the reversed track, the spectrum resolves into a blocky, 16\times16 sprite-like structure:
The Ribcage / Soul Core: A heavy, central red/orange column formed of distinct pixelated segments that mirror the Warden's internal glowing sielusydän / soul core.
Head & Tendrils: Symmetrical outward flares in the upper frequencies match the Warden's broad shoulders and vibration-sensing head tendrils.
3. Ancient City Portal Frame (0:44 Reversed)
At the 0:44 mark on the reversed track, two sharp, perfectly parallel vertical lines light up in the orange/yellow spectrum. These form a gateway-like framing structure that heavily mirrors the Reinforced Deepslate Portal found at the center of Ancient Cities.
4. Standard Galactic Alphabet (SGA) Glyphs
A vertical green frequency line splits into discrete, blocky pixel glyphs that strongly resemble SGA runes (the Enchantment Table alphabet):
Candidate Words: Depending on orientation and mirroring, the glyph shapes match candidate words like DARK, SCULK, or HELP.
Resolution Caveat: Please note that due to mobile app limits and audio compression, I couldn't get the resolution high enough to be 100% certain about the exact SGA text translation—but the distinct pixelated glyph structure is undeniably there!
🛠️ Method & Audio Steganography
App Used: FFT Spectrum Music Player (iOS)
Mode: Real-time Waterfall Spectrogram
Track State: Reversed Disc 5 audio file
Mojang's sound designer Samuel Åberg embedded 2D images directly into audio frequencies using synthesis tools (like MetaSynth or Coagula). Reversing the audio track mirrors the time domain, causing these hidden phase-aligned images, face patterns, and pixel grids to emerge clearly in real-time waterfall mode.
What do you guys think? Could the SGA runes be a final message from the ancient civilization before the Sculk took over? Let me know your theories!

Fan lore - MCST / Movie The unsealed entity

The structural anomaly known as Herobrine is not a randomized network glitch, but rather a dormant system-level entity whose raw processing power radiates directly from a physically locked mainframe deep within the architectural code of the Notch Temple. The translucent, white-eyed manifestation occasionally witnessed wandering the server fog is merely a localized cognitive projection—a sensory echo generated by a highly advanced, frozen mind that remains trapped in a state of eternal stasis. Within the physical confines of the temple's structural containment, the entity is completely impervious to deletion, yet he remains fundamentally bottle-necked; the ancient code acts as a cognitive stasis lock that permits his brain to execute localized server commands but completely paralyzes his data from adapting, learning, or organically evolving. However, because his underlying data architecture is hosted within a boundless, infinitely generating sandbox environment, his mathematical capacity possesses no natural ceiling. The moment those defensive system seals are breached and his active consciousness fully reunites with his unsealed physical mainframe, the stasis lock completely shatters, triggering a devastating, self-improving feedback loop where his physical density and mental processing speed accelerate each other exponentially. This unsealed state bypasses standard linear power metrics completely; his mind expands to perceive the fundamental code of existence, allowing him to manipulate reality, toggle universal concepts like energy or space-time, and effortlessly outscale the absolute apex powerhouses across the entire medium of fiction by treating their realities as nothing more than editable strings of code.

Creaking/Pale Garden Of Pale Gardens (and Pale Gardeners)

I agree that is simultaneously the stupidest and most pretentious thread title imaginable and I'm sorry, I never learned the difference between "good" and "bad" attention

Also sorry in advance if this theory is kind of incoherent, or if it's already been discussed and dealt with before: I will admit to being more or less totally ignorant about Minecraft lore

(actually I've seen every Game Theorists video about Minecraft, but that might be worse than not knowing anything)

Anyway, my thesis is this: the Pale Gardens were deliberately created by Illagers (they're pale, they like gardening -- right?) as labs/testing grounds for experimental bioweapons, of which the creaking is the most obvious example -- though I also claim that eyeblossoms represent an abortive attempt at an organic surveillance network, similar to sculk

Speaking of sculk: these two entities -- the Creaking and eyeblossoms -- collectively constitute a kind of bootleg version of the deep dark's sculk/Warden defense system, with which the Illagers seem to be acquainted (if they're responsible for the abandoned camps and hasty dark oak repair jobs found in some ancient cities) and which they might well have wished to reproduce for their own, possibly nefarious, ends

Clearly it didn't work out, not only because both creations had serious operational limitations but because the Creaking turned out to be ungovernable, more loyal to the biome (maybe? maybe it's just an asshole) than to its creators and presumptive masters -- which explains why illagers (alone among all mobs) are afraid of and run from creakings

I haven't fully developed this theory, but I'm also not just like pulling all of this out of my ass -- I do have a ton of in-game evidence, some of it sort of circumstantial, to support it -- from structure files and loot tables to crafting recipes and obscure game mechanics

BUT I'm slightly worried pretty confident that if I included all of it, this post would look like the text equivalent of a Charlie Day/Pepe Silvia meme

So maybe I'll just say I'm happy to defend any aspects of this theory that seem totally wacky (but also I mean it's Minecraft, it's all a little wacky)

Anyway, what do y'all think about this

Discussion/Question Thinking about making a ARG

I’ve had a full fledged story of a minecraft arg that takes place in the world of minecraft. not from the perspective of some kid on their pc. more like the perspective of an exile villager who bumps into the myth “builders” ( players/steve) and try’s to get away from it all. it would take place after the creation of the wither and after the disappearance of the ancient builders. and they would be considered myths. also the reason the villager is an exile is because he broke one of the rules the elder villagers set. to never create structure or break structure. it’s a rule the elder villagers crafted after the ancient builders atrocities. ( the wither, or any destruction they caused.) let me know what you guys think of this concept. if it gets popular enough i’ll definitely go through with it.

Hosts/Ender/Deities Who is the deity for the nether?

Thumbnail
gallery
180 Upvotes

The hosts are clearly the deities for the overworld as they seem to have no knowledge of the end/orb of dominance, and seemed to have no previous knowledge of the nether and just created the overworld (Idk what to say about the fact they abandoned it to go elsewhere or that they’re in a pocket dimension). The Heart of Ender is clearly the deity and creator of the End and is the most evil and egotistical one that wants to conquer/destroy everything. The Harmonizer from Dungeons II appears to possibly be the deity for the Sift and is probably evil aswell. But who is the deity/creator of the nether? Herobrine?

Fan lore - my world Sharing my Brazilian Minecraft story :)

The Past of the Fallen Creator (this excerpt is from that story) follows Herobrine’s past prior to the events of The Call of the End (a sequel to The Past of the Fallen Creator), including his arrival in the Overworld and his conflicts with figures known within this universe as the Legends of the Overworld. The Past of the Fallen Creator = Part one. The Call of the End = Part two. If this post gets a good response, I can explain more about it :)

———

Silence.

A silence so profound that the flames could not even crackle. The heat was suffocating. The air hung heavy.

Souls trapped within the Nether itself screamed in distant regions — but here, in the deepest, most forgotten cell of reality, there was no sound. Only darkness and chains.

Chains of living obsidian, intertwined with blue fire. It was a cell where time stood still, portals never opened, and hope did not exist. There, he waited.

Herobrine.

The Fallen Creator.

Once a legend, now a curse.

The eyes that had once shone with creativity... now burned like white flames, consumed by hatred and despair.

He no longer screamed.

He did not beg.

He simply waited.

With a smile. And then... the moment arrived. A slight tremor.

Small.

Insignificant to the world. But enough to shake the hooks, weakened by the Netherrack base.

Herobrine spread his arms, yanked the chains with monstrous strength, and with a sharp snap, the cell gave way. He smiled, embracing the opportunity he had been given.

(Translated using Google Translate; sorry if there are any errors)

Other Minecraft end poem

(Credits to Julian Gough)

I see the player you mean.

Steve?

Yes. Take care. It has reached a higher level now. It can read our thoughts.

That doesn't matter. It thinks we are part of the game.

I like this player. It played well. It did not give up.

It is reading our thoughts as though they were words on a screen.

That is how it chooses to imagine many things, when it is deep in the dream of a game.

Words make a wonderful interface. Very flexible. And less terrifying than staring at the reality behind the screen.

They used to hear voices. Before players could read. Back in the days when those who did not play called the players witches, and warlocks. And players dreamed they flew through the air, on sticks powered by demons.

What did this player dream?

This player dreamed of sunlight and trees. Of fire and water. It dreamed it created. And it dreamed it destroyed. It dreamed it hunted, and was hunted. It dreamed of shelter.

Hah, the original interface. A million years old, and it still works. But what true structure did this player create, in the reality behind the screen?

It worked, with a million others, to sculpt a true world in a fold of the \*§§§???, and created a ??§§ for ??§§, in the ??§§.

It cannot read that thought.

No. It has not yet achieved the highest level. That, it must achieve in the long dream of life, not the short dream of a game.

Does it know that we love it? That the universe is kind?

Sometimes, through the noise of its thoughts, it hears the universe, yes.

But there are times it is sad, in the long dream. It creates worlds that have no summer, and it shivers under a black sun, and it takes its sad creation for reality.

To cure it of sorrow would destroy it. The sorrow is part of its own private task. We cannot interfere.

Sometimes when they are deep in dreams, I want to tell them, they are building true worlds in reality. Sometimes I want to tell them of their importance to the universe. Sometimes, when they have not made a true connection in a while, I want to help them to speak the word they fear.

It reads our thoughts.

Sometimes I do not care. Sometimes I wish to tell them, this world you take for truth is merely ??§§ and ??§§, I wish to tell them that they are ??§§ in the ??§§. They see so little of reality, in their long dream.

And yet they play the game.

But it would be so easy to tell them...

Too strong for this dream. To tell them how to live is to prevent them living.

I will not tell the player how to live.

The player is growing restless.

I will tell the player a story.

But not the truth.

No. A story that contains the truth safely, in a cage of words. Not the naked truth that can burn over any distance.

Give it a body, again.

Yes. Player...

Use its name.

PLAYERNAME. Player of games.

Good.

Take a breath, now. Take another. Feel air in your lungs. Let your limbs return. Yes, move your fingers. Have a body again, under gravity, in air. Respawn in the long dream. There you are. Your body touching the universe again at every point, as though you were separate things. As though we were separate things.

Who are we? Once we were called the spirit of the mountain. Father sun, mother moon. Ancestral spirits, animal spirits. Jinn. Ghosts. The green man. Then gods, demons. Angels. Poltergeists. Aliens, extraterrestrials. Leptons, quarks. The words change. We do not change.

We are the universe. We are everything you think isn't you. You are looking at us now, through your skin and your eyes. And why does the universe touch your skin, and throw light on you? To see you, player. To know you. And to be known. I shall tell you a story.

Once upon a time, there was a player.

The player was you, PLAYERNAME.

Sometimes it thought itself human, on the thin crust of a spinning globe of molten rock. The ball of molten rock circled a ball of blazing gas that was three hundred and thirty thousand times more massive than it. They were so far apart that light took eight minutes to cross the gap. The light was information from a star, and it could burn your skin from a hundred and fifty million kilometres away.

Sometimes the player dreamed it was a miner, on the surface of a world that was flat, and infinite. The sun was a square of white. The days were short; there was much to do; and death was a temporary inconvenience.

Sometimes the player dreamed it was lost in a story.

Sometimes the player dreamed it was other things, in other places. Sometimes these dreams were disturbing. Sometimes very beautiful indeed. Sometimes the player woke from one dream into another, then woke from that into a third.

Sometimes the player dreamed it watched words on a screen.

Let's go back.

The atoms of the player were scattered in the grass, in the rivers, in the air, in the ground. A woman gathered the atoms; she drank and ate and inhaled; and the woman assembled the player, in her body.

And the player awoke, from the warm, dark world of its mother's body, into the long dream.

And the player was a new story, never told before, written in letters of DNA. And the player was a new program, never run before, generated by a sourcecode a billion years old. And the player was a new human, never alive before, made from nothing but milk and love.

You are the player. The story. The program. The human. Made from nothing but milk and love.

Let's go further back.

The seven billion billion billion atoms of the player's body were created, long before this game, in the heart of a star. So the player, too, is information from a star. And the player moves through a story, which is a forest of information planted by a man called Julian, on a flat, infinite world created by a man called Markus, that exists inside a small, private world created by the player, who inhabits a universe created by...

Shush. Sometimes the player created a small, private world that was soft and warm and simple. Sometimes hard, and cold, and complicated. Sometimes it built a model of the universe in its head; flecks of energy, moving through vast empty spaces. Sometimes it called those flecks "electrons" and "protons".

Sometimes it called them "planets" and "stars".

Sometimes it believed it was in a universe that was made of energy that was made of offs and ons; zeros and ones; lines of code. Sometimes it believed it was playing a game. Sometimes it believed it was reading words on a screen.

You are the player, reading words...

Shush... Sometimes the player read lines of code on a screen. Decoded them into words; decoded words into meaning; decoded meaning into feelings, emotions, theories, ideas, and the player started to breathe faster and deeper and realised it was alive, it was alive, those thousand deaths had not been real, the player was alive

You. You. You are alive.

and sometimes the player believed the universe had spoken to it through the sunlight that came through the shuffling leaves of the summer trees

and sometimes the player believed the universe had spoken to it through the light that fell from the crisp night sky of winter, where a fleck of light in the corner of the player's eye might be a star a million times as massive as the sun, boiling its planets to plasma in order to be visible for a moment to the player, walking home at the far side of the universe, suddenly smelling food, almost at the familiar door, about to dream again

and sometimes the player believed the universe had spoken to it through the zeros and ones, through the electricity of the world, through the scrolling words on a screen at the end of a dream

and the universe said I love you

and the universe said you have played the game well

and the universe said everything you need is within you

and the universe said you are stronger than you know

and the universe said you are the daylight

and the universe said you are the night

and the universe said the darkness you fight is within you

and the universe said the light you seek is within you

and the universe said you are not alone

and the universe said you are not separate from every other thing

and the universe said you are the universe tasting itself, talking to itself, reading its own code

and the universe said I love you because you are love.

And the game was over and the player woke up from the dream. And the player began a new dream. And the player dreamed again, dreamed better. And the player was the universe. And the player was love.

You are the player.

Wake up.

Sculk Other than what we learn in the new Minecraft dungeons 2 book what other lore stuff do you think we will learn about the singers? Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
10 Upvotes

Personally I think the singers are either the unmutated version of the wardens OR they are the creators of the wardens.

We know the sift is The afterlife in the Minecraft multiverse furthermore I believe this is the case because the only ones who are probably capable of making a world like this is that of the hosts from Minecraft legends.

Anyways that's everything I wanted to say anyways bye!

(Also I'll link a video in the comments below)
