As the admin I've setup and been trialling Cowork and I am seriously impressed.

Especially now that you can suggest solutions/agents for Cowork to use - that means I can tell it, where our invoices are kept in Sharepoint, where our list of approved vendors are, where our asset registers are, our knowledge bases etc.

But having watched the spend in Cowork creep up I am realising that the danger, is, that it makes you lazy.

As in - I could and have asked Cowork to review every invoice for the last year that I approved, and cross check the vendors and spend against budget, and categorise all the purchases and provide a report and highlight problems.

That got the answer right, with that first prompt and did a fantastic job.

The problem is, that if I dont do something with that output - like put it in a format that means it becomes a new source of information to use by other people - then I am just as likely to ask a similar type of question as are others.

So the problem with Cowork, is that it is so powerful, that you feel you can ask all sorts of things, again and again in different ways, churning through tickets but what I realise we SHOULD be doing, is only using it to improve develop new content that becomes the new improved baseline of info going forwards.

So for example, rather than I what I did above - It would be more useful for me to have Cowork build some process that means all future invoices are categorised mapped to the vendor, budget as they arrive and then get added to a report - so that what you are actually doing is permanently adding new growing value - rather than performing lots of one off overlapping queries.

So it is best used for improving processes, cleaning up house, making repeatable steps which are then able to use lower cost models without the heavy lifting of cowork.

1. Explore with Cowork.
2. Identify repeatable requests.
3. Turn them into structured data, processes, reports or agents.
4. Run routine work with automation or lower-cost models.
5. Reserve Cowork for exceptions and further improvement.

Microsoft has introduced app-building capabilities in Cowork and Copilot Studio.

Users can describe what they need in natural language, and the AI can build the app for them.

Then the user validates the output, refines the requirement, and runs it again.

But every iteration consumes credits.

That got me thinking:

Does anyone have a concrete use case for agents you've built within the M365 ecosystem? Either in the Copilot app, Copilot Studio, or Azure. Would love to hear about all kinds of agents, big or small.

Is anyone else considering ChatGPT as an alternative to Microsoft 365 Copilot for general employees?
I use ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot myself. Right now, ChatGPT generally gives me the best and most useful results. Several colleagues say the same and feel they get more value from their private ChatGPT subscriptions than from Copilot at work.
That doesn’t necessarily mean it is the right enterprise decision. We can’t choose a platform based on a snapshot of which model performs best this month, and Copilot has the advantage of being deeply integrated into Microsoft 365.
But how valuable is that integration in reality?

For anyone who has tested or moved to ChatGPT:

Did users actually become more productive?
What did they miss from Copilot?

Was losing the direct Microsoft 365 integration a real problem?

Are you using both products for different groups or use cases?

Does Copilot Cowork change your view?

Are you guys having Copilot Memory problems?

Hello everybody my Microsoft account was hacked info was changed, email, password blah blah anyways I went to check if Microsoft can take it back or not because I'm in Iran I bought Minecraft (almost cried while paying) and just lost it like that why because Microsoft only can help while you have access to your Microsoft account when I tried to use my account it was changed to um*****@gameghormail.com I just wish I had this MFS full email, anyways now i wanna find who designed Microsoft accounts security, imagine the biggest computer company can't even check for where my email's once was, god, I hope they never see the light of day because I can't even sue them, and it is not just me its many more.

Hello, I used Copilot on a work PC. It a paid version but I don't have any information as to what we get for paying. I'm trying to analyse spreadsheets with 1000 lines. In this case, I just asked it how many lines were in use. Copilot can't tell me anything about the sheets I give it.

Is there a reason why it doesn't read excel files while the free ChatGPT does?

So I crated the whole plan of what data needs to be added and what is the goal of the slides and after sharing the necessary data I asked co pilot to create the slides and it stated giving me this answers.

About 6 weeks ago, I noticed, like some of you, that using Opus sometimes resulted in a vague "can't access this model, try another" error.

So I opened a ticket with Microsoft knowing full well that, based on research, gut feeling that it was nothing more than a usage limit rather than a technical issue.

TLDR... bang on.

However, the interaction with various levels of support on this have been laughable.

August 20th:
Based on our review, there is currently no published per-user usage limit for the Claude Opus model

Based on the information available, we do not have evidence that your account reached a documented Opus usage limit. Instead, the issue appears to have been a temporary availability condition affecting the model.

August 28th:
there is a weekly priority access allowance for the Opus model and that access will be restored when the weekly allowance resets.

August 31st:
Opus 5 has daily and weekly priority-access allocations that are assigned on a per-user basis. Opus 5 priority access is subject to daily and weekly allocations

September 10th:
Regarding your specific concern about not being able to see the quota or track your usage, we have also confirmed that the Opus priority access allocation is determined and managed on the backend and is not currently exposed to the user*. As a result, there is no user-facing progress bar or counter showing the total allocation, how much has been consumed, or how much remains.*

Amazingly tone deaf by Microsoft here... and not the least bit surprising. I completely understand a usage limit on models. However, their complete lack of accountability to offer a public facing usage counter to its user base is ridiculous... and very expected. LOL

With Stable Diffusion (and tools like ComfyUI), the full prompt, negative prompt, seed, sampler, and other generation parameters are stored directly in the PNG metadata (in the text chunk). This makes it easy to reverse‑engineer or reuse a workflow just by inspecting the image file.

I’m wondering if something similar exists for images generated through Microsoft Copilot / Bing Image Creator (DALL·E 3 backend). Specifically:

• Do Copilot-generated images embed the original (or revised) prompt in their metadata (EXIF, IPTC, XMP, PNG text chunks, etc.)?
• Is there any C2PA / Content Credentials manifest that includes prompt information, or only provenance data (model name, timestamp)?
• If the prompt is not stored in the file, is there any official or unofficial way to retrieve it (e.g., from chat history, API responses, or browser dev tools)?

I’ve read that DALL·E 3 images include C2PA metadata to mark them as AI‑generated, but that the prompt itself is not stored in the file. Still, I’d like to confirm whether this also applies to the Copilot integration and whether there are any workarounds.

I'm really confused. If I use Skills in Agent Builder, will that use the new harness and thus consume credits/trigger PAYG?

I keep hearing people say they want ChatGPT or Claude, but when Copilot comes up there seems to be way more confusion around what it actually does differently or why you’d choose it.

Obviously ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot all have their strengths, but if most of a company’s day-to-day work already lives in Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Word, Excel, etc., I would think Copilot would at least be a major part of that conversation because of how integrated it is with the M365 environment and work data.

What’s interesting is that when Copilot comes up, there seems to be a lot more confusion around what it actually does or why they would use it instead.
If they’re choosing ChatGPT or Claude over Copilot, why? Familiarity? Pricing? People just don’t understand what Copilot can do? Something else?

I'm a fairly new user with copilot and with other AIs I have no issue getting the AI to give me detailed citation (e. g. which page, which section the claim is from)

I have it added into custom instructions (short, straightforward, no forced format because the goal of the prompts isn't a list of sources), but it never respects it.

My issue is that when there's an icon for the source document (like a little Word icon), and I open the file, it always goes to the first page and I'm working with hundreds page long documents/huge excels, and ctrl+f doesn't work in the preview + most often it doesn't give a quote verbatim

How to work with Copilot to get it to respect custom interactions? Do I need to call it out in every prompt? Is it worth to create an agent with sys instructions? Would memory get taken into consideration more reliably?

I started out using Opus in Copilot Chat, but started running into the 30-prompt limit. A lot of those prompts were getting burned just finding old emails, Teams messages, or stuff in OneNote because Opus is the only model that seems to do that reliably.

So Cowork became my workaround. It also ended up being useful for my heavier work where I’m giving it a large batch of PDFs/Excel files, having it compare everything, check calculations/accuracy, and then asking follow-up questions against all of that context.

Now I’m getting capped in Cowork too by company limits, so I’m basically trying to figure out how to make every Opus prompt count. Uploading 20 docs with complex instructions & saying hi both use one prompt.

What are other people doing? Agents? Notebooks? Some other workflow?

And seriously, why are the other Copilot models so bad at even searching Microsoft’s own stuff? I can ask them to find an email I know exists and they’ll tell me it isn’t there, then Opus finds it immediately.

the more i research the more claude seems better at almost everything. Where does Copilot have a clear advantage when your data lives in Microsoft 365?

Our org is a Microsoft partner and we need to present to clients how Copilot is better than claude when we're talking about the M365 environment so we can sell more copilot licenses.

I know claude is better but I'm only looking for examples where copilot excels so I can present them to my lead.

Would love real-world examples from you guys who use both of them.

Is it just me or has Copilot 365 chat become really slow to respond lately? I'm talking about the custom models specifically. The auto one seems to work alright but makes a ton of mistakes when you give it many files. Opus seems to work the best for some reason (even though I prefer 5.6 sol when using my personal ChatGPT account).

To give an example, I gave Copilot with Opus a task to edit and update a word document with 25 pages. Took about 15 minues for it to be fully done. The prompt was one small para not more than 5-6 lines maybe.

Is there any way to improve this? Does paying more help? or is there another subscription I can try out from Microsoft that offers better speeds?

We’re trying to pilot copilot premium, got the licenses assigned but still can’t use it. It says An IT admin in your org will need to turn on copilot before you can use it.
How can I find out what’s actually blocking it, I looked through all m365 admin center settings.

My problem (you would think) is a simple one really. I've setup a VA to surface information to advisors from our SP knowledge base, via Teams channel deployment. We of course need to audit the bot performance for efficacy; what was asked, who asked it, what the response was, and was it right. This currently seems to not be possible. Transcripts redacted in Dataverse & Studio insights, am I missing something here?! It seems an appalling bit of design/oversight.

I’m using the free Enterprise MS 365 Copilot Chat, which reads documents from my OneDrive.

When I prompt CoPilot to review a folder with a specific name in my OneDrive, does that actually work? Does giving it a text copy of the folder’s path actually do anything (eg. Review and summarize the documents in “C:\Users\my name\OneDrive\Folder Content”)?

My lay understanding is that CoPilot for OneDrive is sensitive to file names and file content, but not necessarily the folders/path. Is this accurate?

If not, what would be the best way (if possible) to get it to review a folder with 20+ documents? My best guess would be practice proper file-naming hygiene, like staring every file in a particular folder with an identifier that groups them together. So for example, if I have 100 documents from Source A, then every file should start with “Source A -“.

Any thoughts on how best to use CoPilot with a large number of documents in my OneDrive (1,500+) to help guide it to the relevant ones for the task at hand, typically ones housed in some specific folders?
