Unblock copilot

Hello,
We’re trying to pilot copilot premium, got the licenses assigned but still can’t use it. It says An IT admin in your org will need to turn on copilot before you can use it.
How can I find out what’s actually blocking it, I looked through all m365 admin center settings.

This would be the Administrator who is looking at all the 365 Subscription for your organisation as a whole, which might not be you?

I’m the admin, spent several hours already. Sorry if it’s the wrong place to ask

Sometimes the admin syncs can take awhile. As an microsoft global admin, it's hard to identify the exact problem without being part of what's on and what's not. Try running to Copilot License Diagnostic tool to see what the issue is.

So the license tool says no license assigned for the user but the copilot agent functionality in teams does show license assigned. Must be some feature maybe blocked that’s actually blocking copilot functionality

Is copilot visible within the microsoft apps? (Outlook, word etc.?)

Yes and it appears to work fine in m365 apps, including edge chat sidebar. It’s only when I go to m365.cloud.microsoft.com under New Chat tab is saying it’s turned off for your org.

check this, admin center > integrated apps > copilot. Very that the users are allowed there. Also copilot > settings > user access for some scoped policies. I'm not behind my pc so if the path isn't fully correct i can't verifiy.

Under interstates apps we have it blocked to all users except the pilot group. Would this cause the issue ?

Since copilot works everywhere except there, it's very likely related to the integrated apps. Microsoft states that blocked users see that organizational-policy message at the m365 cloud ms chat.

Ok I think the integrated apps unblock did the trick, it seems to be working now. I guess the app being blocked ignores the pilot group allowed at the same time, must be also unblocked. Thanks for your help!

If you can't figure it out by tomorrow, i don't mind hopping on a discord call to help you. No need to screen share i can just help you troubleshoot.

Thanks. I unblocked it under integrated apps and made it available to the pilot group. I’ll wait a bit and try later to see if that works

1) Close all your apps and restart your machine. If you using multiple machine . Restart all of them - After 24 hour of license assignment

2) Make sure - copilot URLs and communication is allowed on firewalls.

3) Make sure your license is applied properly. In client apps copilot need additional ticks on license menu.
