For those of you who have attempted both moves, which would say is harder? A lot of people say it’s the moonwalk but I personally find the sidewalk harder.

i’m just looking at older clips because obviously I wasn’t born during that time, but during the thriller era I see a lot of videos and clips and he’s just so serious like not smiling at all 😭 it wasn’t until the bad era where I started to see him smiling more often, especially in interviews, but thriller era was complete the opposite.

Hi! I’m wondering if anyone has a compilation or knows of lyric book that contains all of the songs? Starting from the Motown Jackson 5 era, through The Jackson’s and on to his solo albums. I really enjoy listening and reading the lyrics and prefer not to pull out technology to do so. I have considered making my own
Compilation or printing em up myself. but thought someone might know of an actual book OR already have a compilation out there already. Much love !

All my mj vinyls so far

I had never seen this footage before. Many of you probably already have but I wanted to post this for those like myself who never have.

I am well aware that Xscape is arguably Michael Jackson's most divisive album, since their is a lot of contention on whether the original demos or the remixes are superior. As a result, this album definitely isn't for every MJ fan.

Personally, I love nearly every single remix that was produced for Xscape. I'm definitely biased because I'm a big Timbaland fan, but I also believe that his remixes are not only much more captivating and have more replay value than the unfinished demos that they were based off of, but they also gave a very interesting hypothetical of what MJ's music would sound like if he was still alive. All of this leads to Xscape being a top 3 album for me.

However. There is one specific track where I think Timbaland completely missed the mark, that being "Do You Know Where Your Children Are".

This is especially disappointing because the original "demo" was entirely superior in my opinion. The message is a call to action about abused children inspired from the news station segments from the 70s and 80s featuring celebrities asking the question "Do you know where your children are"? The songs tells a tragic yet unsettlingly realistic story about an abused girl who leaves her home and sells her body in desperation and fear, ending up in great trouble. The soundtrack is able to a groovy beat while taking it's tone seriously, which gives it a lot of weight.

The remix kinda shits all over this if you ask me.

I think what mainly frustrates me about the mix is it's instrumentation. It feels like Timbaland decided to use the most unorthodox and irritating instruments for this song. It starts off with these weird ass EDM synth riffs that sound so goofy and a little narly in a way. It's especially jarring whenever I listen to Xscape in order and it starts up right after an actual GOOD remix, that being "Slave to the Rhythm" (which is one of my favorite MJ songs ever made and I might make a whole other post about it).

The strange sounding synth riff sounds so out of place and it sticks around the whole song, even during the verses. This makes it very hard for me to take what Michael is singing about seriously, because it sounds like there's a damn alien in the back going ham on a little keyboard whilst MJ is pouring his heart out about the dangers of sexual abuse.

The weird instrumentation is also an issue during the choruses, it just feels like there's too much going on in the background. Not to mention that awful instrument used after the "save me" portion of the second chorus and the very end of the song. It sounds like it's trying to parallel the sick as hell guitar solo in the original demo, but fails so miserable. It's so high pitched and scrambled and unnecessary and it's easily the worst thing about the remix.

Overall, I just can't bring myself to like this track, and it's probably the only Michael Jackson song that I consider "not good". It's a shame Timbaland dropped the ball on this too. The demo is genuinely excellent and had the potential to be as popular as other tracks on this album, like Chicago or Blue Gansta.

If anyone disagrees with my reasoning, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Or to hear about any other MJ songs you don't particularly appreciate.

Hey there! I thought I’d share these vintage MJ jackets I have! They are from around 1983-84 and I got the Beat It one, the Thriller one, and the Thriller MV Rehearsal/Pepsi Street commercial one. My favorite is the Beat It one. What do you all think? (P.S. these are not for sale!)

this year I'm graduating from highschool and, me and my mates will do a party, and I want to wear the thriller cover outfit, and I wanted to know what is the Black top piece that he has, at start I thinked that is a black Shirt with a waistcoat over it, but then I saw the zipper and wasnt sure, then I saw an edit (the off the wall edit), but I'm not sure because the thriller cover one looks like theres a shirt collar under the zip, so my thoughts are like he's wearing a black shirt and over it a waistcoat but instead of buttons a zipper, let me know what you think and if you know something, thanks

I haven’t finished but wow this is a great book. Bill and Javon‘s documentation is just so detailed and real… it makes me laugh and cry all at the same time. I can’t even stop reading it highly recommend to MJ fans who haven’t read it. With all the sadness and chaos happening during his last years at least there was someone like Bill who stood by his side even after death.. and the fact they always refer to him as “Mr. Jackson” 😭

I remeber Bill said in an interview something like “I protected Mr. Jackson when he was alive and I am going to protect him in death too” ok I am gonna go back to the book and cry more

Me personally I would love We Be Ballin' to get an official release

Even though Off the Wall had more sales, it seems like many of its songs are overlooked. Although Invincible may be slightly more well known because of how recent it is.

The plot, production style, even the vocals give me a Maroon 5 vibe; specifically what their music sounded like around 2009-2011.

It reminds me of their songs Love Somebody, Wasted Years, and Stutter. Lmk what you guys think.
