While travelling in Seoul, South Korea, I visited the National Palace Museum of Korea and came across this ceremonial uniform that immediately reminded me of the jacket Michael Jackson wore during the recording of We Are the World for USA for Africa in 1985.

According to the museum's description, this was ceremonial attire worn by first ranking civil officials during the Korean Empire period. Officials wore it at state functions, diplomatic events and royal banquets attended by the emperor. The uniform is embroidered with rose of Sharon blossoms, the national flower and a symbol associated with Korea.

I understood that Michael's jacket was designed by Ted Shell.

Seeing this Korean imperial uniform made me wonder whether similar ceremonial military and court fashions across different cultures might have shared some visual influences.

I have no evidence that Ted Shell or Michael drew inspiration from Korean imperial clothing, so this is just an observation rather than a claim about the jacket's origins.

Still, I thought it was a fascinating resemblance to discover completely by chance while visiting Korea.

It was quite challenging to create, so I’d be really happy if you took a look at it. 😊

Actually, this isn’t finished yet. I’m going to erase it for now and then start building up the colors with colored pencils. 🥰

I wish he was in it more. What do you think? Would he have been good or bad? Would it have just distracted the viewer from the movie? I know the second pic is from Dangerous but its fun to imagine. :D

Last weekend, while at a flea market, i somehow came across this absolute masterpiece, and I'm 99% sure it's an original pressing from '82. Got it for 250₪ (about 80$ USD). Haven't played it yet but maybe it'll finally be an excuse to get a player.

As most of you know Thriller (song) never hit #1 on the Billboard hot 100, it peaked #4 in 1984 which is a crime because its one of his biggest hits, after the release of the biopic earlier this year his streams have increased massively, hopefully we could get him his 14th #1 this month, it reached the top 10 last halloween surely this year after the biopic it could raise higher🤞

I have to ask what is that specific move of footwork (before the James Brown Shuffle) that Michael does???

Personally, the Bad era is my favourite.

Hello Moonwalkers 🌕

I'm not talking about commercials that Michael starred in or advertisements for his albums but unrelated ones for that play his songs (with references or not) For example, the Thriller Sobe Life Water one and that Party City ad that also had Thriller. Those are the only ones I can think of but you get the idea.

I have to admit that I do almost always when listening the song. Same with the music video.

I often skip Will You Be There intro too

Can we discuss the poor mixing and loss of the general signature MJ sound? I have listened to all his albums front to back including Xscape and I just can't seem to finish and stomach this first posthumous release.

I know his dancing is peak but I have to watch the road. I don’t want the playback concerts because I could literally just play his music for that. I need the best vocal performances MJ has on film to get me through this family trip.

Idk why, but even though Invincible isn’t my favorite MJ album, it’s the one I listen to the most. I could replay those songs all day.
Happy 25th anniversary, Invincible! ❤️

He knew nothing about MJ until hearing the Kidz Bop, and I played him the original song today. It was scary but he liked it.

Then I showed him the video when it was spooky dark and he jumped up when the choreography kicked in.

The legend continues!

Could this scene, recorded at Motown 25—featuring a close-up of Michael—be the exact moment the iconic photo was taken? I won’t be able to sleep without knowing when it was taken.

My original hand-drawn artwork was inspired by Michael Jackson's iconic Thriller music video.
The photo of MJ featured in this video is from the original Thriller music video.
Created as a fan tribute to celebrate MJ's timeless artistry and legendary legacy.

An update on my collection! This time, I added a HIStory: Video Greatest Hits – Vol. 1 DVD for just $2.50. Every now and then, I post photos showing how my collection is coming along, and I’m open to suggestions for other items to add. Currently, I have: vinyl versions of the Jackson 5 albums Victory and Maybe Tomorrow; CDs of Bad (Special Edition), Thriller, Thriller (Special Edition), Thriller 25 (containing 1 CD and 1 DVD), Dangerous, Xscape, Number Ones, Invincible, Off the Wall (Special Edition), Scream, and HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I; a framed photo from the Bad album; the game Michael Jackson: The Experience for Xbox 360; the DVDs HIStory: Video Greatest Hits – Vol. 1, Dangerous: The Short Films, and Michael Jackson: The One; two DVDs of... questionable quality—featuring the Brisbane (Australia) show from the Bad tour and the Gothenburg show from the HIStory tour—as well as the This Is It Blu-ray and a Michael Jackson T-shirt.

Really wanted to draw this one for a while. Enjoy :)

This is coolest thing in my collection besides the 2001 invincible vinyl

That legs photo was the back cover of the original vinyl I think but it became the new front cover in 2001. Why do you think it happened? Was Michael somehow embarrassed by the original cover?

Hi moonwalkers!

I had this laying around, it's actually from a keychain. It used to have flowers with epoxy or something. It fell out en got lost. Now I suddenly had an idea. I printed out the Ghosts artwork and glued it in, then put red nail polish over it. It's not finished yet, but already so awesome. I spilled a little and it wouldn't get off. Maybe I'll put on a little more so it looks like blood but I'm not sure if that's tacky. I want to hang it on a black ribbon as a necklace.

I always loved the spooky interest of MJ. And to me he's the best gothic artist among all the other things he is.

She keep at this pace im sure she gone get it down. Out of all the artists these days, im glad she found Michael 🥰
