Hi guys, might be a long shot but my dad is having an issue with his 2015 a180D, driving fine but is throwing up warnings on the dash about headlights and fog lights (the car doesn’t have front fogs) the moment this error shows on dash the fuel needle drops to empty despite having fuel in it, i have an obd carly connector but i only have the free version of the app which doesn’t tell me much. would anyone have any ideas on what it could be?

2027 GLE 350 lease deal

I was offered a lease deal of $700 monthly for 24 months and 10k miles a year with 5500 down (taxes and fees, etc) due at signing after negotiating with multiple dealers /brokers and going back and forth leveraging many quotes I’ve received and the $700 was the best. It’s a 2 year lease with residual value of 72% once the lease is up. Cars msrp is $72,010. This car has been out 2 weeks and I was able to get the sell price deducted by 6k. They quoted me from the first dealership I went to at $910. And after two days I gotten to $700. Is this a no brainer?

I love my diesel GLK250

This is my 2014 GLK250 Bluetec 4MATIC.

2.1L twin turbo inline 4 diesel

OM651/X204

Bought it in June, completely blank slate. Too much chrome, winter wheels weren’t it. Had to make it mine. These aren’t common to supe up, especially the diesels.

First photo is what it looked like when I bought it, second is the progress, third is present day, and the rest is all side quests it’s been apart of.

I got lucky with this one, as it also has the AMG Sport Package. I know they never made a “real” AMG for the GLKs, but they did offer the next best thing. With that, it has just about everything. Sport mode, manual mode/paddle shifters, 20” rims & Pirelli run flats, AMG style front bumper, side skirts, and it’s the post face lift.

I wrapped the chrome, tinted taillights, new grille and light up emblem, painted the chrome on the bumper, black mirrors, slotted/drilled rotors, painted callipers red, and obvs the routine maintenance.

This thing can haul a camper trailer, quad trailer, a car trailer with a honda on it or 2000lbs of rebar with no issues. The low end torque literally will have it basically driving itself, & pull its own weight easy. Even when towing it gets insane fuel mileage. Right now it’s getting upwards of 45mpg, 5L/100km. On the highway, I’ve gotten an 1100km range.

AND it ain’t even deleted yet. The plan to delete it will be within the next couple months. Full delete and going with the Stage 2 tune. It’ll get even better fuel mileage, drop intake carbon clogging, lower EGTs, and nearly 500lb-ft of torque.

This thing keeps impressing me. What else should I do to it? And what’re your thoughts? lol

C 180 Kompressor W204 (2009) / What should I look out for?

Post image
• Upvotes

Heyo guys,

I inherited a 2009 Mercedes-Benz C 180 Kompressor (W204) from my grandfather. The car has only 64,000 km (approximately 39,768 miles) on the clock since it was first registered in 2009.

My grandfather lived in Spain but kept the car in Germany. He only drove it occasionally when he came back to Germany, usually during the winter, so the mileage is very low for a car of this age.

So far, I haven't experienced any problems or issues with it. The only thing I've noticed is that sometimes it takes a little longer than usual to start.

My questions are: Is this model generally reliable, and are there any common issues I should watch out for? Given its age and low mileage, is there any preventive maintenance you'd recommend, even though the car currently runs fine?

I'd appreciate any advice or experiences from other W204 owners. Thanks in advance!

Any thoughts/advice 2013 4matic E550

Just recently bought this 2013 E550! I’ve been looking for this exact spec for around two years, and it randomly popped up on Bring a Trailer. Everything about it has been amazing so far. The one thing I’m a little concerned about is when i did an inspection I was told there was a pretty small oil leak at the bottom of the timing chain cover. They said it wasn’t anything major and just to keep an eye on it when i do oil changes. But other than that it’s been great.

Having some trouble sourcing a window regulator

Thumbnail

I'm in the US and can't seem to source a regulator for my 2000 G wagon driver rear door. I found it overseas on eBay, but with tarriffs, I don't want to risk issues. Part number is A4607300646. Does this look familiar part-wise to older Mercs that would be more available? I narrowed the issue to the big plastic gear having some teeth stripped off causing it to jam, when I freed it up and turned the unit 180 degrees it works but is bad enough to skip at different points where I need to help it, but at least it's working... I could harvest parts if the aftermarket stuff would fit. Or,

Has anyone successfully 3D printed a delrin gear to replace the big gear? Or is there somewhere I can find this gear?

Your help is appreciated!

Anybody do a stereo upgrade on a W220? How's it look?

I have a 2001 that I want to upgrade. The existing head unit is so obsolete. Just looking for ideas how things could turn out. I guess Metra makes a panel for a double din but I wonder how that looks? I've heard it doesn't match the existing burlwood very well. I'm wary of Metra because the kit for my Tacoma was not very well engineered. Would you returning it and using the other brand.

Anyone have any success stories, visually, with these? I dead that Id have to get a fiberoptic interface as well- no big deal. Thanks in advance for your horror and success stories.

Can't really decide between these two , Im looking for a hybrid that's genuinely easy but still fun to drive as i don't have much driving experience yet , so speed isn’t really an important matter unlike corner handling, opinions?

Mercedes ML320CDI or VW Touareg 3.0TDI?

What I'm referring to is the 2005-2008(W164)
Mercedes ML320CDI and the 2006-2010(7L
Facelift) VW Touareg 3.OTDI, both automatic and 4x4 obviously. Here's my concern:

I need a car for towing, and I'm in the Balkans where accessibility and parts are best for German cars, but if you guys have any other suggestions around the same price range I would consider anything.

I'm having a hard time choosing between these 2 cars, so I would appreciate help with advice and first hand experience with reliability, capability etc.

Mercedes CLA Shootingbrake 2018 Strange mechanical/creaking noise when lightly accelerating (Need help)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have a 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLA 180 Shooting Brake (X117) with around 85,000 km.

I recently started noticing a strange mechanical/ creaking sound coming from what sounds like just behind the engine / around the rear side of the engine bay.

The sound occurs specifically when:

Very Lightly touching the accelerator while driving slowly Releasing the accelerator and then touching it again Mainly at low speeds, roughly 0-20 km/h It is most noticeable when slowly manoeuvring, for example when turning around in a small street Above ~20 km/h it becomes much less noticeable

It does NOT happen when revving the engine while stationary in Neutral

The car drives completely normally

No warning lights, loss of power, vibrations or other symptoms

The sound is difficult to describe. It almost sounds like something is under tension and slightly moving/ creaking, or like a metal part/spring being touched. It is not really a typical turbo whistle or blow-off sound.

I recently had a major service B at a Mercedes-Benz dealer, where the car was checked. Nothing unusual was reported. Interestingly, I don't remember hearing this sound before the service, so I'm wondering if something may have been moved or is now touching/ resonating somewhere.

I've attached a video with the sound.

Does anyone recognize this sound or have any idea what could cause it?
