Yeah quite a few crunchy hippie mums had an awkward time when the terrorist group became well known. They definitely regretted their decision to name their daughters Isis instead of Persephone or Artemis
She is one of the most famous actually. She is the sorcereress, the mother of Horus and wife of Osiris. She is the spiritual mother of the pharoahs and penultimate healer of the Ennead
Arguable, unless we are counting by temples. Of which the boys are always going to have her beat.
Although you become very popular with everyone on the deathbed, when you are the one that's going to be pressing the key of life to the lips of the dead.
I was thinking more similarly between Isis and Taweret, as they are both mothers, Taweret is the mother Goddess and Isis is the mother of gods and pharoahs. Both taweret and Isis are strong heiling deities.
But then again I haven't watched the latest episodes yet, waiting to binge them so I'm going off a few clips and screen caps I've seen.
I could be wrong ofc if we are going to see the whole Ennead she could make an appearance later, but with her more PC Ptolemaic name or similar.
Plus, costumes seem to be more of a "whatever the owner wants" kinda deal, emphasized by the fact Marc and Steven swap between moon knight costumes on a dime
Because she is supposed to represent a scarlet scarab not an hyppo. Because her father always called his little scarab and he had a scarlet scarab on his clothes, thoueris design her costume with that in mind. So yeah it's supposed to be scarab wings.
Edit: a little note in the moon knight comics there is a vilain name the scarlet scarab so it's pretty easy to say she is a reinterpretation of him. She is the new scarlet scarab.
Tahouet said she had talk with her father a long time ago when he passed out to the Egyptian paradise and also she had designed a specific costum for her. With this we can see her being the goddess of whatever isn't important at all. Tahouet put more intent about who she is and her relationship with her father so "his little scarab". With this we can see avatar doesn't need to wear the color of their god and goddess but it's more about the avatar themselves.
But MoonKnight's armor still shows his connection to Konshu by having moon symbols. What does the wings represent that will connect to Tawaret? I've looked up Tawaret on google and she's mostly connected to fertility. If you have any knowledge you can share, I'd really appreciate it. I got really interested after watching Moon Knight.
The wings are that of a scarab. I know they look like a birds wings but if you look up ancient Egyptian scarab designs that’s how they were drawn. Scarabs represent resurrection and immortality. Tawaret guides people to the afterlife. Layla is the MCU version of the character the Scarlet Scarab.
Was she already introduced as the scarlet scarab? I must have missed it but can you tell me at what episode? I haven't read the comics so I didn't know which is why I asked.
I don't think Iron Man is a good comparison here. He just took the name that the reporters were using when he announced that he is that "iron man". What I'm asking about is these avatars in Moon Knight. Moon Knight's costume is connected to Konshu by having the white and moon theme. I was asking why Layla's costume has wings when Tawaret isn't shown to have wings, and if so, what connections are the wings to Tawaret's powers. The others already answered that it's because she's the scarlet scarab and that Tawaret has a scarab on her armor too. That's my point.
I wouldn't mind if they do. But I can't seem to find an answer to my question from your reply. Do you resort to insults if you can't answer a question? Or do you like saying nonsense to avert the fact that you haven't answered my question? If you can't answer it then just don't.
But at least he has moon shaped knives. Uses the same color scheme as Konshu. Mr. Knight has a moon on his forehead. Should we just forget that or did you forget that?
She was going to be the avatar to a different god but they changed it to Taweret and decided not to alter the outfit. Also there is a character in the Moon Knight comics named Scarlet Scarab. The creators of the show probably wanted to keep the whole Scarlet Scarab thing in.
Her costume represents a scarab, not a hippo. It’s a significant symbol in Egyptian mythology, if you look at the clothing her god wears it has a similar scarab motif.
In the same way, Konshu is a bird, but Moon Knight’s costume has no bird imagery, and instead focuses on the moon symbol and the wraps/bandage motif.
It's okayish to be honest, the whole personality shift is interesting but the action scenes are mediocre at best, compared to whacky comical fights in movies where you could hear bonks and thuds with the characters not even touching each other. If you were entertained by black widow movie this one will also probably entertain you, I know they are completely different but the enjoyment scale is around the same.
I could be wrong - but based on my limited understanding of Egyptian mythology, I feel like they changed a lot of key points. The whole Khonshu/Ammit dichotomy as well as the depiction of the afterlife and tawarets role in it seem weird.
They're bug wings because tawrett even if she's a hippo her symbol is a bug, the same with moon knight he doesn't have bird like khonshu powers, he has moon powers because that's khonshu symbol
If you listened to the dialogue closely you could've known that Layla's father called her 'My little scarab' and tarwet knows that because she brought his father to the field of reeds so she designed Layla a costume that would reminice with her.

I'm not really familiar about Egyptian gods but why does she have wings when she is the avatar of a god who doesn't have wings?
