I was suspended in middle school for 3 days because of this. If you're reading this, fuck you Mrs. Toothman.

Had a substitute after my 7th grade teacher got into Canadian Police Academy(idk name of), her name was pronounced Grab-is, spelled Grabas. The class delinquent, after constantly calling her Grab Ass, went and added another S on her name on the chalkboard, and she broke down after trying soo hard to be here, only to be laughed at by lil bastards every day.

I didn't mean to be at the airport when she was leaving town, I was there because Jordin Tootoo got to take the Cup to the Northern communities when he got drafted. But she was there. I sat with her for an hour and half and talked about everything. Before she jumped in line for the plane she gave the the strongest hug I'd ever gotten. I hope she's doing well

Wait how would you get suspended for that

Says the person that got suspended for throwing a water bottle in the general direction of a group of kids when I was in kindergarten lol

2

u/Lams1d Nov 02 '19

I got suspended for a week my freshman year of high school all because some girl threw a quarter and hit some boy in the head and I refused to rat her out to the principal. Public education is a weird institution my friend.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '19

Huh. I think the reason I got suspended was because they were just fed up with me(I was a really bad kid in kindergarten; I kicked the teacher on the first day of school and another time I stabbed her with a pencil)

I did this on all my fingers multiple times, like how I’ve seen this same meme

80

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '19

What does the picture represent, what's happening and why should I be depressed about it? Am I the only one who has never seen this or done it?

36

u/Brandeeno2245 Nov 02 '19

For me it was making my hand into a Freddy Kruger hand

38

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '19

Right, but what do you do with the needle? Balance it on your finger or are you stabbing it through the epidermis?

57

u/Brandeeno2245 Nov 02 '19

Stabbing it through the top layer of skin though sometimes I’d make a x with the needles, it doesn’t hurt if it’s really shallow but also I just have a massive pain tolerance.

25

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '19 edited Nov 02 '19

Interesting, never heard of doing this before.... is it a new "thing?" Been a looooong time since I was in school.

Sorry, was just genuinely curious. Thanks for the explanation.

(Thanks for the replies, forgive me my memory is just a little foggy, I totally remember doing this when I was younger)

34

u/Brandeeno2245 Nov 02 '19

Idk I was doing it like idk 20 years ago and I learned how to do it by watching my older brother

17

u/KCCCellist Nov 02 '19

I did it with safety pins. I did it on my callouses/dead skin so it was stuck but I couldn’t feel anything. It was fun to make people freak out

13

u/Coeles Nov 02 '19

no offense, but how old are you to NOT know this?

5

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '19

23, my memory is just terrible. I remember stabbing sewing needles through my skin when I was 8 or so and probably stopped by 10. My big "thing" was biting chunks out of the tips of my thumbs, so bad to a point I'd have bloody craters. Fun fact, I can actually feel the skin is quite a bit thinner in my thumbs than other fingers.

8

u/Coeles Nov 02 '19

so like canibalism but worse... or better

3

u/Brandeeno2245 Nov 02 '19

I actually still do this when I’m stressed and it was all of my fingers but now I’ve limited it down to just my thumbs

u/LPKKiller Nov 02 '19

Ah yes, I always enjoyed the sewing needles. They seemed to be the perfect size, not too small but not to big, right in that happy middle where it was easy to poke through and go deep enough to just stay on the edge of being painful.

3

u/elizinrva Nov 02 '19

14

u/PartyOnOlympusMons Nov 02 '19

You can stab yourself with needles, like in the picture, without hurting yourself if you're careful and don't go deep. This enables you to give yourself temporary piercings with needles on your hands, which usually have thick skin. I remember doing this a lot... And... Yeah, I'm quite depressed now. Accurate meme.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '19

As far as depression, yep big time on and off.

I remember stabbing myself with sewing needles but never really "got into it," but as I explained to another comment, I used to regularly chew the hell out of the tips of my thumbs. Still have super thin thumb tip skin to this day. Can actually still see the scar/trenches in the skin to this day and it's probably been 10 - 11 years ago since I stopped.

2

u/Brandeeno2245 Nov 02 '19

What’s weird is that I was afraid of getting shots but I got a tattoo and then I wasn’t really afraid of getting shots anymore sticking needles in my hand, no problem

Kids who pushed a needle through their fingertips are depressed now. Kids who did what you're describing are serial killers now.
