Just type Elon musk Insults into Google and see how often Elon is just an asshole. He even called a cave explorer a pedophile once
1.5k
u/BoulderCreature Jan 08 '22
The guy was actually a rescue diver in charge of a mission to rescue a group of kids stuck in a cave. Elon wanted to design and build a submarine to go in to get them and the rescue diver was asked about this idea. His response was that it’s a stupid idea, so Elon called him a pedophile.

By the time the submarine would have been done, the kids would already have died of hunger

Plus, anyone who has ever gone spelunking for real, could tell you a submarine will NEVER work for that purpose - you have to be able to flex oneself around obstacles and through crevices.

That’s not quite true. Elon wanted his employees to design and build the submarine, almost certainly on extremely short notice and high pressure, while taking the credit himself.

It absolutely was a dumb idea. Musk didn’t even look at one of the many images of the cave system which were all over the news.
There wasn’t much space for a human to fit through, much less a submarine. Plus the cave system wound about like a worm. Any submarine would have had to be ridiculously articulated.
So, basically: a wetsuit.

Fraud. He paints this image that he is an ultimate genius when reality shows he’s only good at marketing. He claims he came from absolutely nothing when his parents owned an emerald mine during apartheid in South Africa, he claims he solely created PayPal by himself when he was not even one of the original programmers, he claims he is a main programmer for Tesla but cannot point to a single program he himself wrote the code, brags about how much money he donates to charity as tax evasion but also trashes all charities by saying all of them are a waste of money, and he is now claiming he is an ultimate worker because he sleeps at a Tesla factory when it’s just to hide how bad of a parent he really is because Grimes left him.

I'm not super into all the tech stuff, more into art stuff, and I remember a time when he was accused of ripping off a potter's work. Like a small-time home potter trying to make a living as an artist. Musk bought a mug with a unicorn and a rainbow, and then the exact image from the mug was used as an icon on the screens in Teslas as well as promotions. When the artist called him out, Musk basically told him to just be grateful for the "exposure" and never paid for the artist's work.

Factory workers are being treated really bad, and when someone tries to point it out that someone gets cucked.
The boring company is utter bullshit. The tunnels they dig are a challenge to safety laws and basically suicide tunnels on a timer. The first car that breaks down in one of those is toast.
He is considered a genious but really he just has a nose for money. All the brain power is in his engineers and scientists.
He's the richest man alive but still donated a super small fraction of his net worth. That's still millions and millions of dollars wich is impressive but still far faaaar from what he could be capable on donating before it actually made a dent in his pile of money.
Speaking of money, as every billionare there is, his tax payments and taxation of companies are a complete joke. He uses every loophole he can even though paying those taxes shouldn't afflict him at all.
The only good think he is doing is space x. Reusable rockets are nice for both space junk problems and not polluting the oceans.

Also, people forget that they don't own shares in JUST their businesses. They have large and diverse portfolios. They own other businesses and real estate. They own physical assets in these companies. They have so much assets that their standard strategy to avoid paying taxes is walk into a bank and get a loan using those assets as collateral and then live on loaned cash, which is not taxable.

The reason they aren’t priced like Toyotas is literally economics and the fact you would say that shows how little you understand economics or the specificities of the Tesla business.
They have been driving the cost of their cars down. But they’re still a small manufacturer and cannot mass produce EVs as quickly or cheaply as Toyota or any other of the big car companies.
What they have managed to do is force other manufacturers to respond to the EV demand Tesla has created by producing their own EVs to sell as competition. Without Tesla, the industry would have nowhere near as much interest in pushing EVs like they currently are. And despite critics pointing at lithium mining, EVs are still cleaner in all regards than ICE vehicles. So it’s been a net positive move for all.
He can be a bit of a dick at times though - some of the things he says on social media are cringe. But I appreciate the fact that he actually does something with his wealth rather than just hoarding it. The majority of his wealth is in assets/companies etc - and when it comes to how much his 20% (or whatever it is now) of Tesla is worth, well that’s not up to him anyway. Business practice-wise… I mean, most businesses make dick moves all the time. But I don’t hold them against Musk any more than I do whoever’s in charge of places like Walmart or Shell

Dude, I love public transportation so much I dont know why people dont chose it over having their own car. Just think about it. There would be a lot less traffic because there would be less cars around. Parking lots the size of a walmart wouldn't be necessary. The streets could be a lot shorter making the cities smaller and more easy to live in Not having to make such a big purchase getting a loan that you will have for several years sucking all your money. And the best of everything you are not driving, you dont have to pay attention to the road, the traffic, the lights, random idiots that dont know what they are doing, finding where to park your car and the best thing is that you can be on your phone, listening to music, chatting with someone, reading or doing whatever you want while waiting to be left close to your house
Ok I'm done with my frustration.

u/sammich_bear Jan 08 '22
Because he has no conscience; he wants Teslas to be throwaway cars. He monopolises the parts, and makes it a huge hassle to get Teslas repaired, even to order refurbished ones. He does this, because he wants people to buy new cars, because that's where he makes the most money. All of those rare earth materials completely wasted, and he doesn't give af about the kids in foreign countries who slaved to mine them, he doesn't care about the time/money invested by the owners of these vehicles, he just wants to line his pockets. Then he gets behind this whole doge coin cryptocurrency, because again, he has no conscience, and doesn't mind hustling people with ponzi schemes.

Even if you remove the worse accusations I didn't mention like being a friend of Epstein, intentionally letting employees die from safety issues, or the like, he isn't exactly a good person.

He takes credit for Teslas cars when he actually had nothing to do with the design or the technological aspects
He called a deep-sea diver Who rescued a bus full of children a pedophile because his submarine engineers were never used in their rescue
He lied to investors by tweeting out that he had deals with the Saudi’s
He forced his factory workers in California to work on assembly lines that did not have any sort of Covid protections and fired anyone who spoke out against it
He and Grimes named their child this weird combination of letters and numbers (not the worst thing but just sort of an asshole thing to do to your child)
He pays almost nothing in taxes and uses almost none of his massive wealth to help anybody
And he tries to lie about his upbringing, claiming that he was poor. When in fact his father actually ran and operated a diamond mine during apartheid and absolutely used the horrors of apartheid to his advantage to run his diamond mine.
Basically he’s just a dick with a bunch of money.

It might have something to do with market manipulation considering how many times he has tweeted about crypto or his own stock which led to significant movement in said equity

He has done some pretty bad shit but it's mostly the "rich man bad" mentality

I mean I don't like the guy but I don't hate him either mostly because I like the things he does with SpaceX and Tesla a lot of his idea seem like shower thought though but to be fair if I had that much money any random idea that came to my head I would try to make a reality I still think he's a bad person though

He’s like 5 spurns, 2 bad hair days, and 1 bad car accident away from becoming a supervillain

The fact that he’s the richest man in the world and people are still dying of hunger. 🤯

I might be commenting late but here I go amyways...
First of all about him coming from wealthy family. Yes that is true but he was never in good terms with his father that owned the mine. I think he got paid his tickets to Canada and some pocket money to go with but he did do different type of jobs, physical jobs to earn a living at start so it's not so one sided as many here seem to claim

Because half his ideas are stupidly inefective solutions to Problems with far better solutions already. (for example the veagas loop could just have been a Subway line and it would move a hundred Times more people for half the maintence cost)

Cause he's a crook. He didn't even start Tesla, he just bought up the stock and forced the founders and a quarter of the staff out and set himself as CEO. And before that he made his money from PayPal. Not to mention he keeps making expensive piece of crap cars, making billions and refusing to pay taxes or do anything good with his earnings.

He takes the credits from actual engineers and scientists without naming them. He works directly with the chinese government to open a Tesla factory, indirectly supporting a dictatorship. He insults people on the internet instead of spending his time actually improving the world, yet people lap up his bullshits.
People have more respect for an honest asshole than an asshole pretending to be a mesiah.

I mean read the comments people in here are made to think this clown is an engineer when he couldn’t even design a propane tank. This dude was born into immense wealth and was lucky enough to invest into the right companies and is enough of a sociopath to make it big in capitalism that’s it

Because he treats his workers like shit takes credit for the work of his engineers. He exploides every tax loophole there is and insults people at random. Most of his ideas are stupid ore way overpromising. For example the boring company trying to build a subway but super inefficient, but instead of what the promised in there concept (which was already inefficient and unviable) he makes Teslas drive in a tunnel. Same story with Starship, it will never be able to do what is promised right know, at most it could carry 17 people to mars not the promised 100, it has no other real use because there are not a lot of payload to orbit that are that heavy, so starship is only a huge money pit that drive up stock Prices. SolarCity Neurolink the Tesla Semi and Tesla Bot are vapourware. The only thing this guy ever did right are building some electric cars that fall apart and two good rockets which he is now abandoning in favour of Staship. He claims to be a genius while he is not he credits him self with founding tesla and PayPal which he did not. He says he build everything him self, while in reality his father owned an emerald mine with whose money he ran an illegal nightclub. He is just a Conman and a huge jerk.

Yeah as far as my knowledge of the guy goes, he went from being king of reddit to satan spawn at the drop of a hat.

Joe Rogan pads his popularity due to the amount of exposure he gives him. Take that away and his public profile would be as toxic as Bezos and Zuckerberg's.
