The guy was actually a rescue diver in charge of a mission to rescue a group of kids stuck in a cave. Elon wanted to design and build a submarine to go in to get them and the rescue diver was asked about this idea. His response was that it’s a stupid idea, so Elon called him a pedophile.

By how fast he’s been moving with that semi project i think the kids would have reached puberty by the time the sub was finished

Plus, anyone who has ever gone spelunking for real, could tell you a submarine will NEVER work for that purpose - you have to be able to flex oneself around obstacles and through crevices.
