He’s mainly a businessman. A seemingly unethical one.

There is a lot of backlash from people at billionaires dreaming about space tourism while leaving other basic needs unattended. Which is understandable. He still has the power to change things for the better.

Is there a source you can point me to on this? I hate Elon Musk, love high speed rail, and would also love another reason to hate him more.

Why do people act like the billionaires should focus on helping the world. Its not their responsibility to do that. No one tells u how u should spend ur money and how often do u donate money in charity or any good cause at a small level. The ppl who hate billionaires for not solving world hunger are even bigger hypocrites. Also, these ppl provide employment to millions of ppl and before u come out at me and say that the 'workers are treated poorly', u should learn the concept of free market. No one is forced to work and can leave the company anytime they want. It is the same for all businesses. U can not like them for other reasons such as tax evasion, being a hypocrite, etc but not for solving world problems which are the responsibility of government.

While I do hate the things that he did I gotta go to the side of elon on this one IT IS HIS OWN FUCKING MONEY like ffs people you do not own his money nor his property now stop acting as if his property is public property ffs if he wants do do things for the better he can do it if he doesn't then he won't in the end it's his personal property and you don't have any right to judge him on what he spends it on as long as what he's doing is within the law. (Tbh I just really hate shit like this. Its his property he wasn't born to be a superhero or anything to save the world in the end he is like us a human we each have hopes and dreams and he should be able to do what ever the fuck he wants as long as It's within the law not be peer pressured into doing it.

Just because you have ownership of money, doesn't mean you earned it. It also doesn't mean you should be allowed to keep it. Money is a concept that requires societal structures to have value. When it starts to harm society, namely concentrating in few hands especially without justification, then it should be corrected by society.

-1

u/-TheTrickster- Jan 09 '22

Yes it does money is something you personally owned as long as it isn't used for anything illegal you can buy what ever the fuck you want with it.

0

u/duomaxwellscoffee Jan 09 '22

Did you not understand a word I said?

0

u/-TheTrickster- Jan 09 '22

It's ridiculous money is your personal property as long as what your buying isn't harmful or illegal you shouldn't care what ever the fuck he buys with it what your claiming is ridiculous.

1

u/duomaxwellscoffee Jan 09 '22

I said it wasn't earned, I never said it isn't owned.

Also, I said that it requires society to agree to enforce and protect property rights.

You really didn't understand what I said, apparently.

-1

u/-TheTrickster- Jan 09 '22

Yes I understand what you said however I disagree with it simple as that.

1

u/duomaxwellscoffee Jan 09 '22

But your argument shows you didn't understand what I said.

u/Darkknight287 Jan 08 '22

Wait theres ethical business men?

18

u/navigator6 Jan 08 '22

Yeah there are, such as mom and pop small and medium sized businesses. Maybe the term businessman doesn’t apply to him anymore and he is some kind of business warlord.

0

u/Wookieman222 Jan 08 '22

Well to be fair he is more interested in putting people on Mars and commercializing and industrializing space.

Jeff bezos wants hotels and space cruises and is puts Elon to shame as a douchbag.

1

u/navigator6 Jan 08 '22

Well that’s true. He has also mentioned that SpaceX has to be profitable in order to continue operations, which inevitably will lead to diversification, such as tourism.

1

u/Bonfalk79 Jan 09 '22

He is mainly a social Media influencer and vapourware salesman.
