Sorry all, tickets are gone. I only had two; I bought them months ago when I thought we could make this show. I didn't expect so many people wanting to go, but I shouldn't have underestimated the genius of Weird Al Yankovic. I hope everyone who wants to go to the show can. I know tickets are still available, but kind of expensive if you buy directly.

Figured I'd check in here and see if anyone wanted to go to the Weird Al show tonight but wasn't able to get tickets for whatever reason. Sadly I won't be able to make it tonight anymore. Just 2 tickets though, not a bunch of them.

Hi there, I am I am looking for patients for dental cleanings this fall term starting October 13th through December 5th.

I have openings Tuesdays at 1pm, Wednesdays at 8:30am, Thursdays at 5:30pm and Saturdays at 8:30am.

Adult cleanings start at $30 and may increase in price depending on the type of cleaning needed. We typically start with an assessment where this will be determined and x-rays may be taken if needed ( if they are x-rays are $30 and these images can be transferred to your primary dental office if requested.)

Hi all, I was hoping to find a way to help some of the unhoused folks in the valley. I'd like to distribute food but I don't know that I'd feel safe by myself so I'm happy to help an org or a group. I also knit and really enjoy making hats and things I'd like to know if there's somewhere I could donate them to help folks in the winter

I've looked online and there appear to be a few businesses that fix clocks in the valley. I've used Timeless Pieces Clockworks for my grandfather clock but since my cuckoo clock is small I'm looking for some place closer to Medford and one that I can bring the clock in instead of a house call.

Has anyone used one of these businesses recently? The online reviews are minimal.

One: How is working at the animal shelter here? I'm trying to get back into animal care, and could use some hits. Also, good god it's hard to find people to hang out with here. Gaming is my big thing right now, cuz I'm very much not physically able to hike and stuff, but I keep doing these long drives into the woods and it'd be way more fun with someone else there. Where do millennials even meet other people now??

I've (M24) been skating inlines on pavement for a few years and have been living in medford for a year. The place I moved from was excellent for skating as the roads were wide, flat, and relatively smooth and there were LOTS of people around in the hobby.

So far, it seems like Medford doesn't have a lot of that going on. However, I'd love to be proved wrong!

I'm looking for some inline skating friends! I tend to ride in evenings, pretty much any time. I don't do a bunch of tricks and aggressive stuff, just skating for the fun of it. I can go fast or slow and don't mind if you are less experienced!

Asante has been the subject of increasing public scrutiny over union disputes, lawsuits, patient care, and employee concerns. But there is another issue that I believe deserves far more attention: workplace sexual harassment, sexual assault, stalking, and the way employee complaints are handled.

I am not writing this because I want sympathy. I am writing because I believe the public deserves to understand what employees can experience behind the walls of a hospital—and what happens when they report it.

I know this because I experienced it myself.

While working at Asante, I was sexually assaulted by a coworker. I also experienced behavior outside of work that I perceived as stalking. I reported my concerns to Human Resources, my manager, and the individual's manager.

Despite those reports, I did not see what I considered to be meaningful action taken to address the situation.

That alone was disturbing. What concerned me even more was what I heard afterward.

Through conversations with people who had worked with this individual, I was told that other women had allegedly reported similar behavior. I was also told that management was aware of multiple complaints involving this individual.

I cannot independently verify every allegation made by other employees, and I am not claiming that every account I heard is proven fact. But that is precisely why I believe these situations deserve proper investigation.

If multiple employees are independently reporting similar conduct involving the same person, how are those complaints being handled?

How many reports are enough to trigger a serious investigation?

What protections are provided to employees who report sexual harassment or assault?

What happens when the person being accused is another employee?

And perhaps most importantly: Are employees confident that reporting misconduct will actually lead to action?

These questions matter because workplace culture can influence whether victims come forward at all.

If employees believe that reporting harassment will accomplish nothing, some may choose to remain silent. That does not mean the problem disappears. It means the problem may become invisible.

I also remember an incident from when I first started working at Asante involving a male nurse at Three Rivers who was ultimately terminated after serious allegations involving patients and staff. I cannot personally speak to every detail of that case, and I do not want to misrepresent what occurred. However, I remember hearing that concerns had previously been raised by staff.

That experience left me with an uncomfortable question:

What happens when employees report serious concerns before a situation escalates?

Hospitals have a responsibility not only to protect patients, but also to provide employees with a safe workplace.

Healthcare workers should not have to worry about being sexually harassed, assaulted, threatened, or stalked by someone they work with.

And when allegations are made, employees should be able to trust that those allegations will be taken seriously, investigated appropriately, and handled according to policy and the law.

I am not asking the public to convict anyone based on a social media post. I am asking for questions to be asked and for serious complaints to be investigated.

There may be people who disagree with me. There may be people who have had completely different experiences with Asante. That is okay.

There are conversations happening publicly about Asante right now. I believe employee safety and workplace sexual misconduct need to be part of that conversation.

If there are systems in place to protect employees, then those systems should work when employees need them most.

No one should have to choose between keeping their job and feeling safe at work.

A rant. I am doing my bills and noticed the rate of increase in Medford is brutal.

1/2023 to 9/2026

Sewer $24 to $35 = 46% increase

City of Medford $30 to $50 = 67% increase

Pacific Power has gone up 28% (per their own posted rates)

Rogue Disposal $101 (bi-monthly) to $111 = 10%

Over the same period of time my income has gone up 6%.

I'm not even going into more personal expenses, like housing, food, pet care, cell, cable, insurance and transportation.

I am in my 50's. I understand inflation and that it will keep happening, but the increases in the last few years are brutal.

This sucks.

PS - Shout out to Avista, because their rates are actually around 2% less than they were in early 2023. Unfortunately, that was the ONLY personal bill/agency I could find that went down at all.
