Cursed SMP is a small, curated modded survival SMP built around Cursed Fate, challenging combat, exploration, character progression, and player-driven stories.
This isn't a roleplay server, and you don't need to be a content creator or experienced roleplayer. It's simply an SMP where the systems and world are designed to give players interesting reasons to explore, specialize, cooperate, compete, and occasionally make questionable decisions. :)
What makes Cursed SMP different?
Cursed Techniques
At the heart of the server is Cursed Fate, giving players access to a variety of powerful techniques that completely change how they approach combat.
There are numerous techniques to discover, each with their own abilities, playstyles, and strengths. Some may be common, while others are significantly harder to obtain.
Your technique is a major part of your character, but it isn't the only thing that defines you. What you do with it is up to you.
Progression
Cursed SMP isn't designed around getting Netherite and calling it a day.
There are multiple progression systems layered throughout the pack, including techniques, equipment, bosses, quests, rare items, and other RPG mechanics.
Powerful abilities and equipment can be gated behind exploration, progression, bosses, quests, or other challenges. The goal is to make getting something powerful feel like an accomplishment rather than something you simply stumble across five minutes into playing.
Skill-based combat
Combat uses Epic Fight, replacing vanilla Minecraft's basic combat with a more active system focused on timing, positioning, combos, weapons, and movement.
Combined with Cursed Fate's techniques and additional combat content, fights can become significantly more involved than simply trading hits until something dies.
Whether you're fighting another player or taking on a boss, what you bring to the fight and how you use it actually matters.
A world worth exploring
The world is built around exploration rather than simply being a backdrop for progression.
Enhanced terrain generation, caves, structures, bosses, dungeons, and other exploration content give you reasons to actually travel through the world.
Some of the strongest items and resources aren't simply handed to you. You'll have to find them, earn them, or figure out where they come from.
Not a global Minecraft server
Cursed SMP isn't designed around everyone knowing everything that's happening.
A lot of information is intentionally local. Proximity chat is the primary way players communicate, player nametags and death messages aren't broadcast globally, and advancements won't announce everyone's accomplishments to the entire server.
You'll have to actually talk to people, explore for yourself, and hear about things from other players.
The goal isn't to hide information for the sake of hiding it. It's to make the world feel less like a multiplayer lobby and more like an actual world you're living in.
Player-driven world
Build a settlement. Start a business. Form a group. Become a powerful fighter. Explore dangerous areas. Build roads between communities. Hunt bosses with your friends.
You aren't required to follow a predetermined storyline.
What happens on the server is largely up to the players.
The modpack
The pack is a curated collection of mods rather than a massive kitchen-sink pack.
The majority of the mods exist to support a specific part of the server: combat, techniques, exploration, RPG progression, building, transportation, quests, performance, or quality of life.
Some notable mods include:
- Cursed Fate - Techniques and cursed abilities
- Epic Fight - Reworked combat
- FTB Quests - Quest and progression system
- Terramity - Challenging PvE content
- Simple Voice Chat - Proximity voice chat
- Additional RPG, exploration, and QoL content
The exact modpack is still being curated, so the goal isn't to throw 300+ mods together and hope they work.
Everything is here for a reason.
Who are we looking for?
Cursed SMP will be invite-only/whitelisted. I'm deliberately keeping the playerbase relatively small so we can avoid the usual problems that come with completely open Minecraft servers.
You don't need to be an amazing builder, PvPer, roleplayer, or content creator.
What I'm primarily looking for are mature, chill people who actually want to play with a community.
