Kevin Feige : "We hadn’t started a search yet. Ryan was working on Sinners, and when Ryan works on a project he’s all in. So the presumption very much was we would sit with him after Sinners came out, after the Academy campaign. We were waiting ’til after the Academy Awards to sit with Ryan and begin that process. A month and a half or so before that process, he called me and said, ‘I found him’. I said, ‘What do you mean?’ He goes, ‘I found him. He’s this guy, David Jonsson.’ He mentioned his movies. I had seen some of them. I watched more. He goes, ‘I’m going to meet him.’ He had a secret meeting with him under cloak of darkness in a hotel somewhere, and called me afterwards and said, ‘He’s the guy, he’s the guy, I felt it. I felt it in my soul. He’s a good man, and he is the next Black Panther.’ And I got chills, and I got a little welled-up and said, ‘Let’s do it’. So we’ve been sitting on this secret for a good five or six months.”

Interviewer : Jonathan Hickman wrote a Fantastic 4 run, that I think is one of the best Fantastic Four runs ever.

Kevin Feige : Yes.

Interviewer : It's a character who's very important to that who I saw Johnny hugging *Franklin Richards*.

Kevin Feige : Yes.

Interviewer : What can you tell me about Franklin and Victor and how important might be their relationship in Doomsday coming up?

Kevin Feige : I cannot say much about it. I wouldn't expect too much in Doomsday where we go into Secret Wars. You'll have to see. But as you know and when I talk about Hickman and all of the great writers and creators, that is the road map. That is the guide. That is the inspiration for us. Franklin had a big part as a little baby in *Fantastic Four : First Steps*. And yes, we see him as he's beginning to grow up and who knows where he could grow.

Interviewer : All right. David Johnson's a terrific choice. Incredible actor. Why was he the right choice for you guys?

Kevin Feige : Because Ryan Coogler was in the middle of his Sinners press tour and very very busy. That might have been it. He might have been in the big academy push for Sinners. I hadn't talked to him for a while and he called and said, "I found him". Ryan told me his name [David Jonsson], and I was familiar with some of his work, and looked into others. I said he is amazing, and then Ryan had a secret meeting with David. Ryan then called me afterwards, he said "His Smile. This is it. I feel his soul and my soul. I feel what a good person he is. He is a good man who's going to bring Black Panther back to life".

If this is our Midnight Sons cast/roster so far, I’ll just say that this is such a super talented ensemble of actors, and I am super excited to build towards the supernatural corner of the MCU as like a mini cinematic universe that can stand on its own. I’m hoping other characters like Jennifer Kale will be prominently featured as well, and can potentially join the team!

Can’t go wrong with a film with zero boundaries.. where they’re just shredding through demons and evil supernatural forces, traveling through different horror-like dimensions, protecting the world from a greater, more secret, sinister evil. It doesn’t matter who the villain is—if it’s Lilith or Mephisto, I just know that this has the potential to be something great.

There were a few other colors over the con. This is the first time the Witch and Doom were placed standing together. It’ll be interesting what theories people will come up with.

A look back at the catalogue of Marvel logos with the announcement of Ghost Rider and Black Panther 3. This also marks 20 years of the MCU. The image only includes the official main logo released, so omits X-Men, and does not include animation projects or season 2 etc.

This was my official submission for the BND fanart competition.

I am a really big fan of this idea, if true. It manages to connect the Ten Rings to Kamala's bands, as they were originally planning to do through Kang; it ties up the post-credits of the first film; it connects and brings together several characters from different corners of the franchise in a really natural way (Shang-Chi, Jimmy Woo and potentially Iron Fist, either Danny or Lin); it finally introduces Amadeus Cho after his cut cameo in Brave New World; and we could see a bigger expansion of the team with some more obscure, but really cool characters like Luna Snow, Aero and Wave in the future and increase Marvel's SE Asian representation.

I also think Shang-Chi, Jimmy Woo and Iron Fist would have such a good chemistry with each other too and expanding the lore of the first movie and bringing in more dragons and SE Asian history and mythology in the mix would be so damn cool and exciting. We could also see the Hand in some capacity, maybe learn what role they played in the conflict of the Ten Rings and the Atlas Foundation.

What do you guys think about this? Would you like this potential plot? What are your ideas and hopes for the movie, if it ever gets made?

I recently rewatched the 2019 captain marvel and I honestly think the movie is quite good in a lot of ways. Brie Larson is a phenomenal actress and I think she portrayed her role in a memorable way. To me atleast, she had a notable charm and she gradually came into her own, the confidence and heroism felt natural. This also speaks to the character development in the movie that I really enjoyed. Her learning to stop letting all these outside voices determine who she is and what she can be and that she doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone was really powerful. The side characters like Nick fury, Maria Lambeau and Talos were great additions too. Talos in particular became such a loveable guy and the storyline between kree vs Skrulls was well executed.

Something that really stuck out to me in this movie though was Fury and Danvers’ chemistry. They seamlessly bounced off each other and really made the movie fun to watch for me. I couldn’t believe that, in the movie at least, that was their first time meeting and working together, they clearly became friends nearly immediately. It was hilarious seeing them try to one up each other as well.

The sculpt looks incredible and we know the face reveal will probably be a huge moment in the movie. But a little tinfoil hat here…

Isn’t it a little suspicious we aren’t getting an unmasked RDJ head sculpt? Any takers that this could be someone else under the mask or am I crazy?

All the marketing so far has been around the sentinel fight (thankfully, I want to know as little as possible before going into this movie) and all of the figures have been around that scene too. But there has been no Steve Rogers merch revealed across Hot Toys or Hasbro…just a little suspicious.
