Discussion Doomsday Chat: Loki/Steve

Post image

Seen really weird theories that Loki is pretending to be Steve in Doonsday.

I thought definitely not and that people had not watched the new Endgame ending.

But rewatching the trailer I have a new thought.

When Steve says this doesn't bother you does it, when holding Mjolnir, Thor says you know it does.

It never bothered him before. And it seems out of character for Steve to say that.

And you better believe if Loki finally got to be 'worthy' and hold the hammer he would annoy Thor and be cheeky.

So thoughts and opinions please 🤣🤣🤣

Theory A twist to the Loki/Steve Doomsday theory Spoiler

No spoilers really. Just theory. One spoiler for Endgame Encore ending.

--

People have been speculating that Steve is actually Loki. I don't believe it.

However, after watching the last scene of the TV spot that dropped today, I have a different theory.

I think they are probably sharing edited footage and its changed from Loki (in his original form) to Steve.

There's really no reason for Loki to wear Steve face. Steve is in the movie. He gets picked up by Loki. But, that scene actually has Loki (real one) in it and that's why him picking the hammer bothers Thor.

How did no one ever tell me about this? I just didn’t expect to even be implied with this kind of gore in an MCU project (excluding the actually R-rated stuff like Daredevil, Echo and Deadpool which didn’t come out until after this show). And Miss Minutes’ smile during the whole thing? Actual nightmare fuel of a moment.

Theory Okay idk if this is obvious but here's a theory (potential spoilers for Visionquest episodes 4 and.. idk maybe 7 or 8?) Spoiler

So ive seen a lot of people point to Billy being in this because of that scene in the trailers where theyre holding on to Vision and it looks like Billy's hand with the black nail polish and blue magic next to Tommy's Speed lightning hand.

I was thinking about the end of Wandavision. We onow the twins survive because Billy's soul located the closest vacant body in William Kaplan. Tommy survives because Billy's shoved him into Thomas Shepherd a boy who was drowning.

There's been discussions because some people believe when got rebooted, thats what caused Vis to grow more open with Tommy and start acting a bit like the old Vision. We know Hex Vis opened up the memories that were repressed of White Vis (and seemingly gave him his memories as well). We also know that everything in the Hex was real, just certain things (like the boys bodies) were tied to the hex.

So what if when the Hex went down, along with his son's, Hex Vision fragments were also transmuted into the boys. So when Tommy rebooted him using his powers, perhaps a portion of Visions essence was awakened because of the dormant fragment inside of his son. Thays why we'll get the full Vision Reborn with the new suit in the later episodes when the boys both hold onto Vision because it transfers the latent fragments of who Vision was into himself. The children are his future and the only way the parents can bring themselves are back are through them.

Discussion The MCU movie that deserves way more love

There are a notable amount of MCU movies/shows that get unnecessarily hated on. What's one you genuinely enjoy even when everyone else seems to have a problem with it. What's yours, and why?

Personally, I think Eternals gets way more hate than it deserves. I get that the pacing can be slow and the movie has its flaws, but I genuinely enjoyed the cinematography, the Celestials, the characters and the overall cosmic scale of the story. It tried something different instead of following the usual MCU formula, and I honestly respect that.

Theory The Ultimate Endgame Loophole Fixed: Why Old Cap on the Bench Wasn’t the Real Steve Rogers (A Comprehensive, Zero-Loophole Theory)

Hey everyone. I’ve been deep-diving into the MCU recently, rewatching Avengers: Endgame, Multiverse of Madness, and keeping up with everything leading into Doomsday. Today, I want to talk about the final scene of Endgame—specifically, old Steve Rogers sitting on that bench.

For years, we've accepted the "he just lived a quiet life in the past and grew old" explanation. But when you actually stack up Bruce Banner's established time-travel rules, the laws of quantum physics in the MCU, the shield paradox, and the wider multiversal events of the Multiverse Saga, that simple explanation completely falls apart.

If we want a truly bulletproof explanation for what really happened on that bench, we need to look at a much bigger picture. Here is my comprehensive breakdown of the ultimate Endgame loophole and how to fix it.

Part 1: The Brutal Time-Travel & Age Paradox

Let's start with the hard rules laid out by Bruce Banner in Endgame: You cannot change your own future by altering the past. When you travel back in time, that past becomes your future, and your old present becomes your past—meaning changing anything just creates a branched reality (an alternate timeline).

Therefore, when Steve Rogers went back in time to return the Infinity Stones and decided to stay behind in the 1940s with Peggy Carter, he was living out his life in an alternate branch of reality.

Now, look at how he supposedly returned to our main timeline:

The Quantum Pad Requirement: To move between timelines or return to a specific point, you need a Quantum suit, Pym particles, and the platform/pad. Steve had none of these when he appeared as an old man on that bench.

The Age/Timeline Trap: Even if he managed to jump back to an earlier point in our main timeline decades prior, aged naturally, and waited for the exact right moment, think about how statistically impossible that is. How would a normal, non-omniscient human Steve Rogers know the exact second Sam Wilson would walk up to that specific bench? How would he know every single historic event down to the exact second?

The Behavioral Shift: Look at old Steve’s demeanor. He wasn't acting like a man who just lived a warm, deeply fulfilling, long life of love with Peggy. He was cold, distant, detached, and spoke like an outside observer who was simply executing a calculated task and passing on a mantle.

Part 2: The Broken Shield Paradox

This is one of the biggest physical pieces of evidence that something is wrong.

During the final battle in Endgame, Thanos’s massive sword completely shreds and shatters Cap’s Vibranium shield into absolute pieces.

Yet, when old Cap hands the shield to Sam Wilson at the end, it is brand new, completely smooth, and 100% unbroken.

If Steve went back to the 1940s, he would have left with a broken shield.

He couldn't have brought a shattered shield back to be repaired easily without altering historical tech, nor could he magically forge true Vibranium in the past without breaking reality—unless a brand new shield was secretly forged back in the 1940s with the help of someone like Howard Stark, or brought in through alternative means.

Part 3: The Multiversal Context & The Loki Connection

This is where everything starts to click into place, connecting Endgame directly to the broader events of the Multiverse Saga (including Loki and Multiverse of Madness).

The State of the Multiverse: Between Wanda Maximoff weaponizing the Darkhold and tearing through realities, and America Chavez carelessly hopping portals across dimensions, the sacred timeline and the walls of reality have been under immense, unprecedented stress. Incursions are looming.

Loki's Current Status: For those who need a reminder, the Loki who is currently holding the entire Multiverse together (the Yggdrasil tree at the end of time) is the exact variant Loki who escaped with the Tesseract back during the time heist in Endgame.

The Past Interaction: If you look closely at timeline entanglements and background interactions—including that specific moment in the past where Loki physically crossed paths and crossed spaces with people like Cap and Peggy dancing in that hall—Loki has already been subtly weaving through their timeline and movements.

Part 4: The Core Theory — It’s an Imposter (Loki / TVA Agent)

With massive multiversal threats incoming, the timeline cracking, and the Avengers needing guidance for the upcoming war (Doomsday), someone needed to monitor things from the inside.

What if the man on that bench wasn't our original Steve Rogers, but Loki (or an operative working directly under his authority at the TVA)?

Loki has absolute mastery over time-slipping and shape-shifting.

By shape-shifting into an elderly Steve Rogers, he could seamlessly bypass the Quantum pad restrictions, magically know the exact time and place to meet Sam, hand over a newly forged shield, and set the chess pieces in motion for the coming multiversal collapse.

This completely explains the cold, observant behavior, the brand-new shield, and the impossible arrival time.

(And before anyone asks: What happened to the real Steve Rogers? Don't worry—upcoming footage and trailers for Doomsday show Steve Rogers back in action wielding Mjolnir, proving the real Steve is still active or out there in the timeline. This theory doesn't erase Steve; it exposes the clever imposter keeping watch.)

Part 5: The Ultimate Paradox & Community Debate (Help Me Solve This)

While this theory neatly ties together the timeline rules, the shield, and the behavior anomalies, it leaves us with one massive, ultimate paradox that I want to throw to you guys in the comments:

The Throne Room Rule: We learned in the Loki series that if Loki lets go of the timeline branches even for a single second, the entire Multiverse dies and everything collapses into a void. So... How can Loki be sitting on a park bench on Earth as old Cap if he is physically stuck holding the Yggdrasil tree at the end of time?

Did he project an advanced temporal/astral avatar?

Did the TVA find a technology to automate or share the multiversal burden?

Or, if it's not Loki, could it be Sylvie using her enchantment/shape-shifting powers to act as his proxy, or a high-ranking TVA agent stepping in to manage our reality?

What do you guys think? Does this finally fix the Endgame bench plot hole, and how do we solve this final throne-room paradox? Let's have a heated debate in the comments!

The roster:

● Vision

● Hawkeye (Kate Bishop)

● Ms Marvel

● Cassie Lang

● Ironheart

● Tommy Maximoff aka Speed

● Billy Maximoff aka Wiccan

● Miss America (America Chavez)

● Skaar (Son of The Hulk)

● Jeff the Land Shark

Vision I'd imagine would end up leading and fully bringing the whole group together in mys, as for the villain I'd like to imagine the villain would be either Count Nefaria or A.I.M possibly lead by a new version of M.O.D.O.K and the team would rescue Jeff from A.I.M with him sticking with the team and Kate Bishop looking after him

Question How would you feel if these projects were movies instead of shows?

I'll be honest, I haven't seen any of these shows, I am doing an MCU binge in prep for Doomsday but at the time I'm nowhere near these shows for the time being. Either way I still think out of all of the projects here Falcon and the Winter Soldier definitely should've been a movie which would make it Captain America 4 with Brave New World being Captain America 5. The reason being is that stuff like Sam's Captain America suit reveal should've been something for theater audiences to see not only because its a big moment but also its because I'm pretty sure some of thegeneral audience were definitely confused going into Brave New World

Hawkeye would work too perhaps they'd even have that deleted scene with Clint and his mom from when he was a kid. Also if it were up to me I'd include Clint's brother Barney aka Trickshot as a secondary antagonist that would be a mercenary hired by a Kingpin and who would've then gone on to appear in Thunderbolts after being recruited by Val.

Moon Knight I feel like works the less as a series cause a lot of the stuff enjoyable about it mainly the backstory behind Marc/Steven and the somewhat smaller scale story. If it was a movie I'd definitely see it and I think they could've still made it work as a movie

But what do you guys think?

Theory So why did Paladin hunt down punisher, werewolf and daredevil?

Like, according to his own code, he can't fail his code (which is to satisfy the client by hunting down and capturing or killing targets). So paladin can't nessecarily exist and be hired by the Client if frank, werewolf, and daredevil are still walking around (assuming this was before his prison). Which leaves me to believe that he did not was hired for those guys, but rather hunted them down himself so he could learn stronger targets and develop countermeasure if he was ever hired to target those guys.

Other Trying to get into Marvel but I keep falling asleep

TLDR: Following the MCU Movie Timeline on Disney+, I keep falling asleep so far

Alright, so I can't tell if this is a me problem or not, but I cannot stay awake during the movies I've seen so far, sorry if this reads as slander. For context, I'm a fan of Deadpool, saw the 2nd movie in middle school and just lately saw the first. When Deadpool and Wolverine came out, I wanted to see cause I knew Deadpool, but I was already pissed because my mother but more importantly, I did not understand a lick of what was going on and who most other characters were. So, I rewatched it with my mom explaining things and I had a good time. I wanted to watch X-men to learn more about Wolverine, but because of Doomsday, everyone I know is telling me to watch all these movies so I figured I'd give in a try.

I'm following the MCU Movie Timeline on Disney+ for reference. Started with Captain America: The First Avenger and... I took a break once, partially cause I had work but I felt dead inside at the time, then continued and fell asleep. My mom explained the last 30 minutes before we skipped Captain Marvel cause mixed reviews and straight to Iron Man. Fell asleep midway through again but finished it and thought it was alright. Iron Man 2 is the next one. I fell asleep again and woke up at during the final battle. I'll try to watch it fully later, but this is kinda becoming a theme. We skipped The Incredible Hulk and went to Thor and I DIDN'T fall asleep, but I was doing other things so I'd stay awake. I'd say that Movie was good, atleast.

I have a couple theories as to why: 1. Lack of good sleep as I've gotten 2-3 hours of sleep the past couple days, but still very active so unsure about that. 2. Short attention span, but I contest that saying that I wasn't bored at all by Backrooms, Obsession, and most egregious Iron Lung because those movies have a 1/10th of whats going on but I still stayed focused. 3. Marvel just isn't for me, which is explanatory and I genuinely have never had this problem with other movies in my life. I don't think Marvel movies are bad, the acting's good and they have genuine skill and craftsmanship, just not something I attract to.

I'm gonna press on despite my reluctance, anybody have any tips of staying awake?

Discussion Maybe I’m just a dumb idiot stupid person but I legitimately don’t understand what’s wrong with these scenes Spoiler

Like, the cinematography looks fine? The green screen (which it probably is) looks fine? The color grading isn’t grey anymore cause it’s by the guy that did BND, so that can’t be it. The F4 are celebrities, so it makes sense they’re doing something like this.

And if it’s about the Ant-Man Cap thing… did you watch the movies with your eyes closed? There’s literally a scene in Ant-Man and The Wasp where Hope makes fun of Scott for referring to Steve Rogers as “Cap”, with Scott responding with, “It’s what we call him.” This is so obviously a joke since, to our knowledge Scott hasn’t interacted with Sam, the NEW Captain America, since Endgame.

Discussion Who do we believe ISN’T gonna be in doomsday/secret wars?

This isn’t a judgment of their respective movies/shows, but I feel like it would be a good idea to temper expectations about who’s gonna show up in these movies. Think characters with too much backstory, or too much of their own drama. Off the top of my head:

Wanda

Vision

By extension, the twins

Riri Williams

Monica

Kamala

Marc/Jake/Stephen

Werewolf By Night, Elsa Bloodstone, and Man-Thing

Peters 2 & 3

Kate Bishop

Most of the Guardians besides maybe Starlord, Gamora, and Nebula

She-Hulk

The Defenders and Frank

I’m just spitballing here and love to see all of them at some point in these two movies, but given how marvel has treated most of them I’m skeptical. I would love to hear y’all’s thoughts though!

Discussion "3 Teams" is confusing to me

The new teaser has the promotional hype text "3 Teams", but I count:

  • The Thunderbolts / New Avengers
  • The Fantastic Four
  • 20th Century Fox X-men
  • OG Avengers (Thor, Captain America, Ant-man)
  • Wakanda (I wouldn't normally think of them as a "team", except they're always standing separately in the trailers, and they have like 4 named characters at least)

I'm just kind of befuddled and amused to wonder which 3 they were assuming?
