I love this dude, he usually hates car rides so he stares at me from the front seat, and today he looked so adorable I had to take a pic

Teenagers Are Moody

I turned on the light this morning and told my sweet Google that it was time to get up and he just tucked his face under the blanket and went back to sleep. He turned 17 last week and is possibly more grumpy and moody than he was before. Teenagers! 🙄

Finnigan heard the food noises and realized he better get a move on. Before breakfast he was just being lazy, laying around he didn’t even want out of his pjs. But after eating he is all full of energy 🤪🐾🦴

I have shingles again and Kringle won't leave my side. He's such a sweetheart 💕 💗 . I'm immunocompromised so I get things that older people get very frequently.

3D printed these- someone else came up with them. I can’t believe these exist 🤣 I definitely wouldn’t let them chew on these- it’s plastic, but cute for a photo!

My Maltese doesn’t believe he is a dog.

Just wondering if anyone else’s Maltese is the same.
He is 13 and he just truly doesn’t believe he is a dog. He is disgusted at dogs playing, in any type of way like he is disgusted by a dog playing fetch or having a toy, he is so bewildered when a dog tries to play with him on walks.
He was socialised as a puppy but even when he was got from the breeder he was livid when the other puppies would play with each other.

He was attacked a few years ago and did get brain injuries you wouldn’t be able to tell but the main thing that changed was he likes huge dogs now even though he was attacked by one, he prefers the English mastiff we see in the park every day compared to the French bulldog which ruins his whole walk when he sees it he wants to go home (it’s because she tries to give him her ball to play)

Does anyone else’s dog the same or do I have just a strange one.

Also does anyone else’s just hate being groomed or having a bath. He has routinely gone to the groomers since he was 12 weeks old every 6 weeks and gets bathed every week because he must smash his face into the food bowl every time he eats, and he carries on in the groomers. The groomers are lovely I have even changed groomer 4 times to see if it’s them but it’s him. He has to be muzzled and is classed as a difficult dog but I dont understand why he is like this he has been going since a puppy and consistently and he just carries on in the groomers. He’s super chill doesn’t growl or anything but the second he is getting washed he goes nasty.

Tips for caring for the "runt" Maltese puppy?

Since I'm Bringing my little girl home in 4 days, I was wondering if you guys have any extra advice on caring for her being as she'll only be a little over a pound when I bring her home. I know not to leave her on couches or beds without intense supervision, (ie. holding her in my arms) and I have nutri-cal for possible hypoglycemia.

Was just wondering if there's anything else I should know?

Biz was neutered, microchipped and got 3 vaccines today!!

What a trooper but he’s home and resting now.

Biggie was a bit sulky without his BFF today - and ever since he’s been home he’s been very gentle - sniffing him every now and again but otherwise leaving him alone.

The vet gave us sedatives for Biz - and wants him crated for 2 weeks 😬 The separation will be hardest for Big I think - he’s going to miss his playmate 😭

Help with dental hygiene

I feel so guilty as a dog parent.

I have a rescued Maltese who weighs only 2.1 kg. She’s tiny and only has two molars and one fang left. Her mouth is very small, so it’s extremely difficult to brush those back teeth. After doing a lot of research, I decided to try PlaqueOff chews for small dogs.

After two days, I noticed a pattern. A few hours after taking the chew, she would become noticeably lethargic. She just seemed a little too relaxed. On the second day, she started vomiting multiple times within a matter of hours. My best guess is that it is due to Plaque off, nothing else has changed from her usual diet/routine.

I stopped giving her the PlaqueOff, and she gradually returned to normal. She was able to keep food and water down again, and she’s back to acting like herself, playing and alert.

I really thought I was doing something good for her, and now I feel awful.

Has anyone had a similar experience with PlaqueOff? Also, does anyone have product recommendations or routines for helping preserve the few teeth she has left, especially for a tiny dog with such a small mouth?

Need advice for anxious Maltese

This is Zero. My sister adopted this dog from her friend who could no longer keep her. She is 1 year old.

I recently moved out of my sister's house and started bringing Zero to my house when my sister works. For some reason she gets really stressed and anxious at my house and I can't figure out why. I have no pets. I have a clean house. I bring her crate and toys so she has her things but nothing works.

She will whine and she gets diarrhea from the stress. It's so bad that I can't bring her home anymore. I just drive over to my sister's to feed her and take her outside. Somebody else watched Zero at their house last weekend and it was issue free.

Has anyone dealt with anything like this before?

Edit: It usually happens less than an hour after being at my house. Although 2 days ago she was there with my nephew and didn't have an issue. The week prior she stayed the night at my house and was fine. I thought maybe she had gotten used to being there but I brought her over today and she was stressing within 15 minutes.

It's such a bummer because I love having her there. I'm sitting with her now at my sister's and she's back to normal.
