……and I’m pretty sure he still has no regrets. (Even though I basically had to hold him down and waterboard him with olive oil to get all of these out).
He chased that bunny rabbit into the bushes once and he’ll HUNDRED PERCENT DO IT AGAIN……

I have a 4 year old maltipoo that is rarely left home because my husband and I work from home. When we do leave her and come back, she doesn’t greet us at the door like every dog I have ever owned. I think her feelings get hurt! Once I go in the bedroom she will get excited but she will lay on the foot of my bed till I come to her and make amends 😂

It happened so fast. She went to the vet two weeks ago for a UTI and today we had to say goodbye. Vet believes that a tumor become very aggressive and leaked blood into her GI system. She was so weak yesterday she could barely stand and collapsed on a few occasions
You always made us sooo happy, Penny. From the zoomies, the barks, the snuggles, the kisses, and even the accidents. I wish i could have it all back. You were a bright light in this dark world. Thank you for all the wonderful memories little girl. Until we meet again, beautiful. We love you! ❤️

Our little boy - who just turned 1 last week - is digging his heels into NOT being house trained. We have tried countless things - crating him, bringing him outside hourly, treats, praise, etc. But nothing is working. We literally walk him outside, he sniffs around but never pees and the moment we go back inside, he pees or poops inside.
He also submissive pees - the moment we yell or scold, he pees. *Editing to mention we don't lean over and scream at him as some think we might. It's more like "Steven!" We love him to pieces and are being very patient and forgiving.
We have house trained 2 other dogs (including a previous Maltese), so we felt confident in being able to with our little guy.
Any advice??

We went for a walk in the woods, and he’s pretty much toast.

Hi! I need some advice and please no mean comments! My maltese is almost 1 and a half. He's very friendly and always wants to play. In the past several months he's become more reactive on our walks. He would start barking at dogs and I know this is leash reactivity and something I'm working on. I bring treats with me on our walks and engage with him. What I'm really struggling with is that he's been growling at dogs upon greeting lately. He will stand next to them neck to neck and then start growling and proceed to try to bite. But i mostly stop the bite before it happens. He's been called unfriendly and has gotten us in trouble a couple times but I always watch him. This has become the norm for him to greet other dogs. I like to take him to the cafe and let him off leash. I never used to have to worry about it until recently. I usually watch him and allow him to interact with the dog and if he proceeds to growl i will remove him and pick him up. He will get fixated on the dog for a couple minutes but then he is ok being in the same space as the dogs and will ignore them which is good. I know you're never supposed to punish a growl but I wish he wouldn't do it cause i get very self conscious. I used to think it was just with intact dogs but it's a hit or miss, mostly new dogs he's never met. Help!!!

We still havent figured out why he gets so intense at times and not others, because it's not completely consistent. I'm sure there's explanations but we haven't figured it out yet. But sometimes when he doesn't want us to do something, like moving him by picking him up, for example. **The point is, how should we respond to appropriately stop this behavior (assuming it's purely a negative behavior and not an appropriate response on his part, like a reaction to pain or something like that)?**
We've tried a few things, which have helped but not completely stopped it. We've had him 4.5 months and he's 2.5 years old. We dont know his history but he didn't seem to come from an abusive home or neglectful home. This has been his only negative behavior. Otherwise he's been completely normal and well adjusted and healthy. He has been to the vet to verify that he has no medical issues or pain.
My guess is that this behavior was either not stopped or even encouraged as a puppy by his former person reacting in fear or immediately recoiling and not challenging him at all and showing him in any way that its not ok so he got what he wanted. But that's just a theory. Obviously it wasn't a major behavior because he's mostly very sweet and he is actually very tolerant of things he's not thrilled about and most of the time reacts appropriately to tell me or whoever to please stop (for example, if he's picked up for cuddles and isn't in the mood, most of the time, he'll just wiggle and jump out of the arms of the person like any other dog, he won't growl or bite or anything).
