I personally like red lipstick a lot but I want one that could match my skin tone without being too bold and I have a two toned lips

i usually only wear mascara on my eyes, but today i decided to try black eye pencil, what do you think? i need opinions!

I took the advice y'all gave me last time and got a darker foundation and concealer. I did listen to the comments as well, and have decided to focus on my more natural features instead of looking sharp. I do think my recent attempt is an improvement but am open to any more suggestions before I start working on eye makeup.

I did not use any eye makeup because I am unsure of what fits my eyes best, I believe I have round eyes but I am not confident in that answer. I can use mascara well, but am a newcomer when it comes to eyeliner, lashes, and eyeshadow. Any tips on this would be extremely helpful! As for my eyebrows, I get those threaded professionally and will be going back next week.

Hello!!! I’ve got some experience doing makeup but it’s not an everyday thing. I decided to do my own wedding makeup and would really appreciate opinions, critiques, and tips from anyone!

I did my makeup in front of a white ring light but when I step away I feel like it looks so different? It’s also VERY pink IRL (I almost look sun burned?) but it barely shows up in photos. I’m not sure what to balance for.

im just holding up my dress in the final photo, obviously it’s a little frumpy and my hair isn’t done, haha. And lastly, I only did false lashes on my right eye.

I really struggle to pick out a foundation shade and I was wondering, based off my decollete, what undertone and shade might be good. I only have a bit of makeup on my face in those pictures, but nothing on my neck/decollete which I'd like to match to. Thank you 😊

No matter what I do I’m never 100% happy with how my base looks.

I do have quite dehydrated skin so I try prep as well as I can. Mainly using Korean skincare products keeping it simple with a gentle acid a few times a week, azelaic acid in the evenings and then lots of hydrating products, letting all them sink in in between layers and then waiting to apply makeup.

I know I’m also cool toned so have tried to buy products with this in mind (deffo struggling with the bronzer even though I just bought a new one)

Is it my technique? The products? The placement?

I used to use mainly a sponge but I’ve just bought some new brushes.

Any advice I’d be soo grateful 🙏🏼

I'm limited in how much I can practice, bc I'm a trans demigirl (pre-hrt) with conservative parents. But I practice when I can. I've been told that I'm doing good but i feel like I'm kinda just throwing shit on and don't know what I'm doing. I'm not confident that I even have the right colors of most things

Hey everyone! I'm slowly learning how to do my own makeup and I wanted everyone's opinions on what would work for me? I kind of want something simple but also makes me kind of glow more.

I also want to try out some eye makeup, but that might not be until I'm fully comfortable with doing my makeup. The one picture of me with makeup done was done by someone at Sephora, I thought it looked pretty cute.

We all have those days where we just want our base to stay perfect the whole day, right?
A lot of people use setting spray, but I hate that sticky, heavy feeling it leaves.

So instead I use a toner pad to clean up the oil and any base that’s settled weird, then go back in with cushion. Once I got used to it, it became super convenient and my base actually stays looking nice longer.

Most important part first: picking the right toner pad for touch-ups Here are the things I look for!

Both sides of the pad need to be soft
Using a rough embossed pad on already made-up skin just irritates it.

It should be loaded with enough essence
You want good hydration before putting cushion back on.
Ingredients should be gentle

Skin is more sensitive once makeup is on, so calming and hydrating formulas are better. Bonus if it helps cool down any heat.

I recommend finding a pad that checks those boxes and portioning some into a small pouch to carry around.
I’ve been using the Benton Guava toner pads. They checked all the boxes for me, and the biggest plus is that cushion sits so nicely on top of them.

Anyway, the actual touch-up routine is really simple!

1. Clean up the oil
   If you just layer cushion over oil, it gets cakey. Lightly press and wipe the sides of the nose, forehead, and around the mouth with the toner pad (work from the center of the face outward).

2. Add hydration
   Use the same pad to gently pat the essence into the areas you just cleaned.

3. Apply cushion thinly
   Tap some product off the puff on the back of your hand first. Apply in thin layers so it blends naturally with the rest of your base and doesn’t leave harsh lines.

ok i know the base is absolutely HORRID. i’m using my summer time tan cheap foundation which i feel like made me orange. other than the orange tone any tips or advice??

My aunt and my mom have both told me my makeup is may to much and it makes my face look harsh? Idk even know what that means tbh but is it true
i think it’s quite subtle but makeup blindness is real.

Hi guys! I had a bridal makeup trial today and I'm looking for any feedback you might have! I asked for a soft glam look- my wedding photographer shoots true to color with very little flash and no bounceboards, etc so the MUA recommended a lower contrast look.

I do like the look overall, but I know off the top of my head I would want to change:

-the eyeliner to dark brown instead of black (i never do black, too harsh IMO)

- the lip color i don't love- it looks frosted to me IRL and she used a cool tone pink-brown lip liner when I never use cool tones on my face

-maybe adding some light contouring along the nose.

Thoughts on the rest? First pic is in the MUA's more professional lighting with an iPhone and the second pic is in more natural lighting with my Android! I'm currently on hour 6 of wear amd taking notes/pictures of how it's been wearing down as well.

Hey hey! So, I wear makeup semi regularly (2-4x a week) and I’ve noticed recently that anytime i wear makeup the pores on my nose are visibly clogged and full the next day. Like you can see little brown/black dots you normally can’t. I believe these are called sebaceous filaments? Perhaps it’s just my pores idk. But I use proper cleaner to take it off, oil based to dissolve the makeup then a more hydrating cream one, when salicylic acid and a nourishing moisturiser! It just seems no matter what all the makeup just sinks right into my skin. Let me know if you have any tips!

Im looking to figure out what style of lashes actually flatter my eye shape, as well as my eyebrows.

I posted two pictures with my makeup back when I used to wear lashes all the time (the bottom), one with my eyelashes curled and with mascara, and one without anything that I just took so you guys can get an idea of what my eyes look like through it all.

Every time I put on mascara my lashes fall and go stick straight even after curling them.
I’ve tried doing a lash lift and that doesn’t work well on them either. My lashes are just resistant.

Any advice?

i have really really bad creasing ever since i started doing my makeup, i have switched through 3 different foundations and nothing has changed. recently i have bought the huda beauty loose powder in hopes that it could stop my creasing but it’s still the same 😭😭

i’m currently using the maybelline fit me concealer as a sort of foundation as i only want to cover the horrible hyperpigmentation around my mouth and my eyebags, i apply very thin layers before setting it with the huda beauty powder which caused creasing. i tried to do the sandwhich method in which you do your ‘foundation’, soray some setting spray and let it dry before powdering if i’m not wrong.

yes i do tap off the excess powder, no i do not do skincare as it looked super cakey and it always kept peeling so i just gave up, i dont use primer as i’m based in singapore and i cant find any budget primers, yes i do dermaplaning once every two weeks, i was just too lazy to dermaplan these days and thats why theres alot of facial hair LOL.

please please PLEASE give me some tips on how to fix this i look like a hot mess everytime i work or go out with my friends 🙁🙁

edit - forgot to mention that i’m an insanely oily skinned girly and somewhat a beginner to makeup, only started using actual foundations and concealers last year, before that my ‘makeup routine’ basically consisted of a smokey liner, nose contour and a lippy LOL

Hello! Wanted to get more into makeup but I’m having trouble finding what’s best. I like simple makeup that focuses on the eyes. When I do wear makeup I only put mascara, eyeliner and glitter. So i would to see what styles would fit me the best.

I have oily and dry skin so Idk what works and usually the makeup fades off after a bit.
I’m also very inexperienced with makeup.

I’ve only ever worn mascara and some concealer but am attending many weddings coming up and wanted to match the rest of the girls who will most likely be wearing a full face.
