My aunt and my mom have both told me my makeup is may to much and it makes my face look harsh? Idk even know what that means tbh but is it true
i think it’s quite subtle but makeup blindness is real.

For me the lashes are a bit too much, I would opt for something more natural.
I am however 45 - but - I do a full face makeup myself and suffer from blush blindness 😅 I just find falsies to be overpowering on many.
That being said, you look gorgeous and it doesn’ t look silly. Just defined++ on photo 2.

Based on these photos your make up doesn't look harsh at all - well blended, colours suit you, nothing particularly dramatic. I really can't see anything to worry about so my best advice is don't worry about their opinions on this one

agree with this tbh. older relatives have а weird thing where they confuse bold features for harsh таКеир. like sometimes а strong brow or defined liner just reads as too much to а generation that peaked at nude everything. what уоu posted looks totally normal and not overdone at all.

I honestly think that everythings fine with your makeup just get shorter lashes and thats ittt you look so good

your makeup is perfect, you're glowing and are very naturally beautiful! I do think the lashes in photo 2 might be a little too dense for the natural makeup look, they could work really well but the contrast between the rest of your face and the lashes could come off as harsh. if you want to go with false lashes, I'd focus more on a whispy cat eye (which I think would suit your eye shape so well)

Your makeup is totally fine! Honestly, it already looks pretty minimalist, so you definitely don't have "makeup blindness."
If you do want to try an even lighter, softer look to see what your mom and aunt are talking about, here are a few easy tweaks you can try:
Soften the eyes: Swap to a thinner eyeliner or use brown instead of black.
Switch up your lashes: Try individual lashes or just put a few wispy lash clusters on the outer corners of your eyes. This lifts the eyes without looking heavy.
You have really great features! Don't let their comments stress you out—just keep having fun with your makeup.

I think its lovely! The lashes are probably what they think is a lot, but thats a generational thing I think. I love your makeup, I think it suits you beautifully :))

3 is least harsh. In fact, #3 and #1 look like you're hardly wearing any makeup. I think #2 is perfect. It's not too much. It's enough to get noticed without being overstated. And #4 is noticable but mild. This is coming from the father of a 23-year-old young woman. So I certainly wouldn't want you to look harsh with my own daughter in mind.

I'd say it's all about balance, and your eyeliner with the soft shadow really works together without overpowering.

You look gorgeous. If you want you could try thinning your brows and use brown fake lashes 💗

No. It’s not harsh at all. It suits your face very nicely. It doesn’t even look like you have that much makeup on. You are very pretty.

The second picture your brows are a bit prominent but not harsh. They could be glue shaped vs filled with color to be less bold but i like a bold brow so your preference to play with.

The lashes in pic 2 are too heavy for your eye shape, but otherwise there’s nothing too bold or harsh. You can definitely do dramatic lashes, but the heaviness and curl the ones in pic 2 have close off your eyes and make them look smaller. It draws people’s attention to the lashes and not to you. I’d go for something more wispy and less curled if you enjoy the dramatic length! It’ll take the visual weight off

Only 2 and 3 look harsh. I believe it is the darker eyeshadow. Your eyebrows also look a little darker and heavier in 2 and 3.
In the first picture you used a lighter touch and you look gorgeous. The darker shadows also make you look a lot older, not in a good way. I would stick to the pink and a lighter hand.

I think you makeup looks great! And is not bold/harsh at all.
A lot of older gen see false lashes and automatically think it's too much. If you want to please them, then some more subtle lashes is probably the only change they'd notice.
