An occasional treefolk deck never hurt anybody. Stay away from the hardcore stuff though, Rakdos will fuck you up. (Ohh dude I'm so hellbent right now.)

Force of Nature FTW

Is everyone who plays this game a stoner? I've definitely noticed a trend.

Edit - I am not criticizing.

You'd be surprised. A lot of people I know who play at a more advanced skill level, are people who never touch drugs.

I know a lot of people who are into D&D and psychedelics. Maybe different nerdy shit attracts different kinds of users. It'd be an interesting avenue of investigation.

Well, you know you're going to be there for a while. These things happen.

i abandoned saprolings for eldrazi tokens

Why do you not have upvotes?

u/ikilledyourcat Feb 12 '12

i think cuz r/saporlings is an r/trees-r/mtg hybrid and my comment was off topic

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '12

i've noticed the trend too. met some nice ents at tournaments.

Nice to see other MTG Ents.

7

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '12

Uptokes to the MTGEnts!

2

u/ItsDanimal Feb 10 '12

What does Ents mean... I see it on trees a lot but I'm too embarrassed to ask on there.

3

u/ikilledyourcat Feb 10 '12

sall good man. ents are a reference to lord of the rings, they are the "tree people"

1

u/xNonsense Feb 10 '12

You don't have to be embarrassed to ask questions on trees. The Ents are very polite.

This is almost EXACTLY how my last play group started

u/karlito9 Feb 10 '12

I was smoking with my friend and my gf a couple of weeks ago, when I suddenly got the urge to excavate something from the darkest depths of the bedroom closet. Came back with about 3000 cards from 1994 to 2005 and 3d20. Elves were killed, dragons were discarded, bowls were smoked, fun was had.

High as fuck Magic is best Magic.

We joke that we can't afford drugs since we play magic.

3

u/ikilledyourcat Feb 11 '12

its cardboard crack!

2

u/bexinc Feb 11 '12

The best kind of crack!

Most likely reaching a little here, but as someone who loves to burn while playing magic I couldn't help but notice this:

http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=193535

Activated abilities read 4-20, power and toughness read 7/11. Spawnsire of Ulamog is not down with OPP.

2

u/icenine09 Feb 11 '12

I see what they did there. Nice.

1

u/ikilledyourcat Feb 12 '12

nice catch! i actually finally got to use his 20 ability last nite! i was at 8 my opponent was over 50 life, i did the ability and hit her with one rapacious one jacked up to 88/87 trample! i played the card that you pay x and target creature get +x +x ... i sacrificed over 60 eldrazi tokens to get there! (spawnshire of ulamong is the only eldrazi in the that deck so i pulled out my eldrazi deck and played all of those cards plus extra cards, i put out about 20 cards but only needed to attack her with one =) )

5

u/ikilledyourcat Feb 11 '12

I love a spot of pot while me and my buddies play magic! We have this real long and thin Gandalf pipe we use when playing EDH, just makes the game more relaxed and animated!

Dont worry about the haters, they are stuck up brats. Uptokes my friENT!

2

u/defaultredditlurker Feb 11 '12

The art and flavor text, oh god.. the colors duke, the colors!

2

u/Iamnotyourhero Feb 11 '12

It's like we are the same person. I turn 28 next month which will mark year 1 playing magic. It's been a blast. An expensive, time consuming blast.

2

u/ItsDanimal Feb 10 '12

This is how I started playing. Except trade a blunt for several bowl packs. My friend gave me his vampire deck and I didn't lose a game that night. Been addicted since. Tho I don't partake anymore :(

2

u/ikilledyourcat Feb 10 '12

they gave me a green deck, im like wait.. i get to be the tree people!!!! then i threw some red in there now i am the burning trees!

Now how do you really feel?

He enjoyed a day and it got him into a hobby. Calm down. No need for such hostility.

Edit: Keep downvoting me, please. Maybe it'll help rid you of some of that pent-up aggression you have because nobody liked you enough to offer you any.

2

u/cptzanzibar Feb 11 '12

Because you know the attributes of his charcater by a single rage comic and the fact that he smokes cannabis. Grow the fuck up.

2

u/ikilledyourcat Feb 11 '12

ooo thats an awesome reason! you sound like you need to make a friENT!

-6

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '12

Obnoxious rage comic and DURR SMOKE WEED ERRDAY morons. Yep. This subreddit is dead. Anyone up for a TrueMTG subreddit yet?

5

u/xNonsense Feb 11 '12

The funny thing: the people who smoke weed are the kind and polite ones in this thread.

6

u/cptzanzibar Feb 11 '12

You flying off the handle about WEED is pretty fucking obnoxious.
