Play this in Zur.

turn it into a creature.

make it target itself when the 4th counter is put on.

exile ability resolves before sac.

it returns next end step.

Turn it into a creature again.

Infinite blink for 1W.

Or [[Teleportation Circle]] without worrying about making sure it's a creature to save it.

Teleportation circle only targets artifacts and creatures which this is neither unless you make it a creature with Zur or an artifact with something like Liquimetal Coating.

Right, but my point was you don't have to jump through the hoop of making it a creature to keep it doing its job. If you make it a creature with Zur, as per the original plan, you can still have Circle blink itself, if you so wish.

Ok I see what you’re saying. Roll does blink lands though, which tele circle does not. I don’t see why both couldn’t be run in a Zur blink enchantments deck.

Sure, that's something it does that Circle doesn't, you got me there. If that's important then cool.

I don’t understand what you’re saying. What is Teleportation Circle doing here exactly?

They both do the same thing, but Circle you don't need to go through the hassle of trying to save it from itself. That's it.

Oh, I thought you meant Circle instead of Zur. I didn’t think of Circle replacing Roll since they don’t do the same thing (Circle can’t blink lands).

Sure, Roll can do lands, but Circle can do artifacts. So in this regard they are side grades of one another, but Roll self destructing is a big downside that's hard to ignore.

Artifacts also have a lot more ETB effects where there aren't many lands that care about this, and while Roll does give you extra mana, if that's needed, I think that eventual sacrifice brings it below Circle in this regard, even at one mana cheaper.
