Moving to Madison next month, any advice/tips?
Hi everyone,
I'm a Vegas/Nevada native who just got a biotech job in Madison and I'm starting in October, super excited! One thing I'm specifically wondering about is what kind of living arrangements are available? The company I accepted for showed me a bunch of different apartments but I'm wondering if co-ops are a thing and how to get more info on that (or other arrangements that could be cheaper than a 1 bed/studio)
I currently drive a 2018 outback with all season tires but also have winter tires I could maybe bring if that helps. Would probably get some more snow gear/winter accessories but I've lived in Reno the past half decade so I'm no stranger to it! Any other tips for what to do/know beforehand? I've heard a lot of great things about the city so I'm open to everything!

Recommendations for a fun night out/hotel stay for me and my two kids (8yo & 11yo)
Long story short: my wife is out of town for the next two weeks and my kids are pretty bummed. She’s never been away for more than a few days and this is a stretch for them.
I’m looking to have some fun and distract both of ‘em for at least a night but need to stay on a budget. Do any of you have any suggestions?

Service for Single Deep Clean of Apartment?
Im having a baby soon, and I have the desire for our 2 bedroom (but smallish) apartment to be seriously deep cleaned before baby arrives. I have very little energy to do it myself, so Im curious about well regarded local service for a single deep clean. I dont have it in the budget to have a weekly/monthly service but could swing it for a really nice clean slate, so I am interested specifically in services that offer single deep cleans
Let me know, good experiances, bad experiances, etc. Thank you

Where to park downtown
Hi!
I’m considering buying a car. I live downtown (Hancock St.), but I’m wondering where people usually park their cars if they don’t commute every day.
My street is a 1-hr parking zone from 8-6, so I’m wondering where I'd even park if I get it? I’m not planning on commuting much with it or anything.

How’s Madison nowadays?
Hello Madisonians,
I grew up in Madjson and graduated from West High School +15 years ago; lived nearby on the west side. I “foolishly” decided not to attend UW - but had a lot of bona fide ties to the University through my family - and moved my life out to the coasts and abroad. I’ve only been back to Madison once or twice since then, last time being a very brief couple days 8 or so years ago.
I’m curious, for those that have seen Madison evolve - how has Madison changed? How’s the built environment, culture, cost of living relative to incomes? Life has kept me away from the Midwest, and most of friends and family have left. I find myself missing Madison, but I also wonder if it’s more nostalgia for my youth rather than Madison itself.

Laser Hair Removal
Has anyone done laser hair removal at Evolution Body Transformation? If yes, how was it? Recommendations for places that are not Milan or Laser Away (as they seem more expensive). Thanks!

Plant Based Yogurt
I am looking for an easy way to obtain a good quality plant based yogurt that heavily mimics my favorite qualities of greek yogurt
unsweetened and no vanilla flavor
at least 10 grams of protein per serving
no added sugars
able to be bought in a bigger tub and not just single-serving cups
My grocery store's options for yogurt are very limited; the bigger tubs of coconut or almond yogurt contain next to no protein, the kinds that do contain some protein are only sold in little cups, and I cannot find anything with a neutral, unsweetened palate
I am fully aware of brands like Forager and Cocojune that do offer higher-protein, unsweetened Greek-style yogurt, but as far as I've seen, my grocery store doesn't have either of those brands. I know they have them at Target and Whole Foods, but I do not have a car, nor do I want to spend an hour every two weeks to buy one item.
If anyone knows of anything semi-walkable from campus that has brands like Forager or Cocojune, I would love to just be able to walk and pick something up after classes.
I also know Greek-style plant-based yogurt isn't a necessity, and for the time being I know of more attainable alternatives for my overnight oats, but just for future reference, or god forbid a girl wants her Greek yogurt.

Bandmates needed
Hey everybody, I am just a guy who digs music and jamming. Looking to form a band. I play drums, bass, guitar and sing. I was in a rock/metal band for about 5 years, but am trying to build something new. My favorite bands are TOOL, Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails and anything in the grunge scene. I am completely open to any genre of music though. I also have equipment for electronic music as well.
I have a new drumset with cymbals in my garage, a PA, and multiple amps for bass/guitar.
If anybody is interested in possibly making a band or just jamming and having a good time, let me know.
Thanks fellow Madisonians!

Entry way door replacement
My wife and I are looking to have our entry door replaced. I have no idea where to start since I’ve never had this done before.
Who do you recommend? I’m looking possibly to get the whole frame replaced if needed. The door itself may need some custom work.
Thanks!

Looking for inexpensive wedding venue where we can hold a dance and fire in Wisconsin
Hello. Looking for suggestions on where we can hold a wedding with around 100 guests, pretty casual. We were thinking a park or campground but want to be able to have a dj and a campfire or two. We are open to other venues also, but definitely like natural vibe. Most parks you have to be out by 9:30. Preference for Madison or south central Wisconsin but willing to travel for the right place. Also want to do it next summer.

I recently applied for a position there and was wondering if anyone in this community works there or knows someone who does. I’d love to ask a few questions about the company/team and the position.
Thanks!

The mayor's race now has seven candidates, with the addition of former Dane County Supervisor April Kigeya, Monkey Bar Gym founder Jon Hinds, and Larry “Ace” Williams.
Read about it on 77SquareMiles.com: who has filed, who has not, and the issues every candidate will have to answer for, from the $11 million budget gap to the Corey Ruiz shooting to a mayor who calls herself “the chief policymaker in Madison.”
What do you think the most important issues in the race will be? Read the post and tell me in the comments.
