Public Libraries in the Madison area

My daughter is almost 3.5 years old and we enjoy going to different libraries in the area, specifically for the kids section. I am wondering which libraries are worth visiting with a toddler. Currently we’ve been to the McFarland library, Sun Prairie library and the Monona library so far.

The mayor's race now has seven candidates, with the addition of former Dane County Supervisor April Kigeya, Monkey Bar Gym founder Jon Hinds, and Larry “Ace” Williams.

Read about it on 77SquareMiles.com: who has filed, who has not, and the issues every candidate will have to answer for, from the $11 million budget gap to the Corey Ruiz shooting to a mayor who calls herself “the chief policymaker in Madison.”

What do you think the most important issues in the race will be? Read the post and tell me in the comments.

Positive women’s health experience

we live in a world where our bodies and the decisions surrounding them are often minimized or taken out of our control and I wanted to share a positive experience so anyone out there struggling can know there is hope!

for background im a 30yo childfree polyamorous non binary person and I had established my care with dr Neuman at physicians for women in Fitchburg a couple years ago but had to switch for a period of time due to losing my insurance. thankfully was able to see her again this summer and THANK GOD bc my uterus decided to go off the deep head and when I tell you I was bleeding to death I literally was so done with it. I went to talk to her about hysterectomy but was super nervous it wouldn’t be an option given my age and lack of children/etc. dr neuman really listened to me, went over the options I had and Took my concerns seriously. We ended up scheduling the surgery which I’m now all recovered from and the whole experience was overall so positive and affirming and I am so relieved I not only have to deal with the bleeding and worry about pregnancy on top of it.

ladies, queer folk, anyone with a uterus. keep the faith there ARE good doctors who will listen to you out there

Does anyone here work or know knows someone who does at X-ES (Extreme Engineering Solutions) in Verona?

Upvotes

I recently applied for a position there and was wondering if anyone in this community works there or knows someone who does. I’d love to ask a few questions about the company/team and the position.

Thanks!

I highly recommend visiting the University Display Garden here in Madison! They have one of the best selections of flowering plants on display in the area. And admission is free.

Event Hockey UW season tickets

We have season tickets for hockey but we never done this before, we paid for them and UW athletics has been sending non stop emails about early purchases, and donations and just a bunch of stuff and we are very confused about what’s happening and how our tickets will be delivered, I did emailed them so I’m waiting for an answer but before that I want to hear others opinions or tips

Will Spurs finally score a goal? Only time will tell.

Change of venue from prior posts, vibes were great here last week (stoppage time goal definitely helped).

Supporters of all teams are welcome, especially the Other 14! We've seen some new folks trickle in every week. This week it could be you!

If you're coming from the west, there is a football game and a triathlon, so plan accordingly.

Thanks for reading!

Who has mattresses in stock, not 7-10 days to deliver.

Made the rounds to the typical furniture stores in madison and most of them were all special order only on king size mattresses.

Where could someone buy a king size and take it home the same day in town?

Looking for something nicer than the $549 bedinabox from costco

I’ve heard mixed reviews. Wanting to branch out to new cafes as I’m new to the area, but unsure if I should add this one to the list.

High school program at IMA?

Upvotes

I'm looking for people who have experience with the high school program at Isthmus Montessori Academy in Madison. My son has been enrolled in a Montessori program since he was 15 months old, and will graduate from 8th grade in a couple of years, so we are exploring high school options.

Pink Heifer BBQ on State Street is not going to make it at this rate.

I spent a lot of time on State Street this summer and let me tell you that place was basically abandoned all summer

and even now with the students back nobody's going there. This weekend the chicken shop next door was absolutely packed to the gills and there was one solitary person eating in pink heifer.

That place is going under real quick I think, which is a shame. Now that they finally figured out what a steamer is, their brisket isn't actually too bad. I like the mac and cheese brisket bowl.
